20:58 The fact that an employer can change the job so that they don't have to accommodate to a person's disability happens way too much. This doesn't happen after a person has already been employed but this has happened before someone has even started?
32:50 Yes an employer should have to pay for you to get the certification needed because it is not your fault that you are or have ended up disabled. They would have to re-hire someone for your position and still have to hire someone else for the new position but if you are already there they only have to hire only one person and just give you the new training needed to do the new job?
40:36 What do you do if you are disabled and you went to your VR counselor for the blind and asked him to help you get a job in 2014-15? If while you are talking to him you let him know that your doctor only wants you to work no more than 4 hours a day 3 days per week. Your VR counselor says "I can't get you a job at a regular company so I will have to get you a job at Columbus Community Center where you will be earning sub minim wage"? At that time I was earning a half a penny to a penny per piece. At the time my rent portion went up and my food stamps portion went down and I ended up putting money on my credit card to purchase my groceries because I was only brought home per month 45.00 per month after taxes were taken out of my check. It got to the point where they didn't have enough work for me to do and I would waste over an hour and a half to get out to work on the bus on a limited bus and find out there was nothing for me to do. Their solution was for me to call them 5 minutes before I had to leave my place and ask them if they had work for me to do and then I would have to rush out the door and hope I could catch the light rail and then the bus? This made it very difficult to ever have plans. For example, If I wanted to see my mom who lived in Ogden I would have to visit her up there and make sure I took the last FrontRunner train back to Salt Lake City so I could be home since UTA Utah Transit Authority didn't have the train running on Sunday's? I would most times find out that next Monday when I called in that there was no work? All of the time I could have spent with my mom or any other plans that I could have been doing but I wasted that time making sure I was available to be there to work for below minim wage just because it is legal to pay a disabled person below minim wage? One day around 9PM my sister called me up to inform me that my mom passed away. I never went back to work or even gave them the courtesy of calling them up because they were exploiting disabled people for profit. What di the disability law center going to do about changing the law so this can be illegal in Utah? The two major parties say they care and yet they do and have done nothing to make this right? I don't trust them and I believe in the Green Party!
