    Beautiful Lido deck. It will be interesting to see how the loungers work out on Caribbean cruises. It's usually hard to find one on sea days on other ships so I can't imagine that what they have out there now will work. We're booked on this ship November 2024. Can't wait to see it in person!
    Thanks for the great tour!

      @CruisingWithDee  Před rokem +3

      You are welcome! Snd I agree on the Loungers! Hasn’t been much of an issue on this cruise, but then this is a Journeys-type crowd and much cooler weather-wise than a usual Caribbean cruise. For a Caribbean cruise, however, I agree with you-doesn’t seem like anywhere near enough sun loungers. I think they HAVE to remove some of the eating tables around the pool and put in more loungers, Those would be in the shade, but I actually like shaded loungers. In any event, I am anxious to see how that all works out. Enjoy your cruise!

      Im very nervous in general. The layout and theme of the ship is more fitting for a smaller and relaxed crowd. We know that a lot of sailings tend to bring in larger, "turnt up" crowds. Especially the Caribbean ones. I think maybe this would've been a nice ship for adults only sailings. just an idea!

    • @CruisingWithDee
      @CruisingWithDee  Před rokem +1

      @@Imseeraw It will be interesting to see how it goes for the Caribbean sailings. One nice feature of the Lido was it has a large surface area for the deck parties, which can be held rain or shine with the retractable roof. Also, there is a good splash zone and 3 water slides, ropes course, arcade, etc. for kids, teens, and the young at heart. I’ll show those off in my final walking tour. My last cruise from New York was on the Carnival Splendor many years ago…the crowd was not quite as “turnt up” as a Florida sailing for whatever reason, so that may figure in as well.

      @@CruisingWithDee Good to hear! It sound's like there are plenty of different hang out spots. I'm a person who likes to chill at the bar versus chillin on a lido lounger! If one area is crowded, we just go to another. Beautiful ship. I will be on the sister one, Firenze, for the Inaugural. So I've been keeping up with the Venezia. Thanks for your video.

    Thanks for the tour. I think this ship looks beautiful. We sailed on the Horizon in July, and I was disappointed in how tacky the modern decor looked. Plus, it was a nightmare getting to and from Miami (we live in Maryland). We decided to drive to NY to try the Venezia next summer.

    • @CruisingWithDee
      @CruisingWithDee  Před 11 měsíci

      Sorry it took me so long to see your post! The ship IS beautiful, but I haven’t been on Horizon to compare. I’m cruising out of Miami in November and I hope it goes well. Its nice to be able to drive to a port; I love that Carnival has so many home ports.

    Beautiful ship! Doesn’t it make you wonder how the snobs can criticize Carnival after watching this? We have been on over 16 Carnival cruises but we have became somewhat disenchanted with Carny after 3 weeks on the Celebration however the Venezia makes me want to give them another chance. We will be boarding Royal and Princess soon and I do have this ship currently on hold for a fall Bermuda cruise.

    • @CruisingWithDee
      @CruisingWithDee  Před 8 měsíci

      Yes, it does make me wonder, especially after coming off Royal Caribbean’s Wonder of the Seas in October, which was a great cruise, but so are my Carnival cruises! I truly loved Venezia on my TransAtlantic. I’m curious though-what did you NOT like about Celebration? I just got off of Celebration on Sunday and I had an absolutely fantastic trip-I’m putting together my Celebration videos now, so more to follow.

    • @TripReviews
      @TripReviews Před 8 měsíci

      @@CruisingWithDee I did a few onboard videos about the ship at the time. Yes the ship was nice and new but I think the crowds of people, we found the buffet was not very good as to selection and variety. Wife asked one at one dinner time where are vegetables? Answer was, the salad bar. So other than potato’s and maybe frozen kernel corn that was that days option. We were told by the service desk not to worry about registering for your b2b3b cruise each trip, we will transfer your information. They didn’t, so on debarkation of the last cruise we were held back at the gangway as they didn’t have my cc info for the final tab. They should have had it as they had said it would shift over to the last week but didn’t. Ok do no big deal really but at that point you just want to get going and on your way. They should have picked up on this beforehand and I would have gladly fixed things up. I didn’t notice a problem as we had thd shareholder credit we were working off on board. There were other mess ups at the service desk also, the service desk people in general were not much help with anything one particular girl was really, really bad. I know not the ships fault but just a general inadequacy of some crew members. Carnival is just not the same as before the lockdowns or even list recently after the start up. We did a 6 day in the Sunrise, one night on shore and then 3 cruises in a row in the Celebration in the same stateroom which was nice to have. We have been on Sunrise twice and we did like this ship both times. enjoyed the food in both the MDR and the buffet. We have also sailed a b2b on the Mardi Gras after the restart which we did like but then if was at half capacity I think Perth did Csrnivdls customer service may have slid and that is where our dissatisfaction came from. It’s too bad we both feel this as we are at Platinum level and do like the perks😄. Funny though that I always fill out the satisfaction questionnaire after the cruise and did point out the details I wasn’t happy with as well as thd names of the outstanding crew. It’s too bad though they never reply with a response with some explanation or a thanks for letting them know who were great. My wife and I aren’t hard to please as we can find humour and find good in almost anything. We will find out soon though if RCL or Princess fairs better in our eyes. Cheers🍻 thanks for your reply.

      @@TripReviews You are very welcome! And it explains our difference in experience, so thank you for that. I don’t eat at the buffet at all, and I only needed Guest Services once for a very minor issue (which they were very helpful for). Hope your RCL and Princess cruises are wonderful; I’ll be interested in your comparison after!

    • @TripReviews
      @TripReviews Před 8 měsíci

      @@CruisingWithDee hopefully the Princess cruises will be good, first time with them. RCL will be a first too but it’s only a 3 day. We figured we may as well because we will be there anyway so what the heck! Get the most value from the flight there. I just went through the online booking on the app, don’t know why but it seems like the next step is always hidden and it makes it frustrating. Thanks for the well wishes.

    Great tour. Thanks Dee. Just curious, long wait for elevators? Carnival is infamous for having to run to the elevators since you dont know which elevator is coming. Also, is there self service laundry? Thank you.

    • @CruisingWithDee
      @CruisingWithDee  Před rokem +2

      No; really no waits at all for elevators! After the shows, etc, we just walk to the back of the ship since that is where our room is, so perhaps some wait then. A bit of a wait on embarkation day. Otherwise, the system of selecting your elevator and then the digital board telling you which elevator to take to your floor is great since you know exactly which elevator to take! No self-service laundry, but ship has a “special” right now, one bag of laundry for $15 and you can get lots into that bag!

    • @jfeliz795
      @jfeliz795 Před rokem +1

      @Cruising With Dee Thank you for your response to both questions. I may have an issue with laundry since I have shirts after I wash that I don't dry. I hang it in closet and let it air dry. Gotta think about that one. Keep enjoying your cruise Dee. Looking forward to the rest of your videos.

      That area will be in my next Walking Tour! It is lovely; there are little nooks and crannies where you can sit and read or watch the goings-on at the Lido, there are games like Bocce, it is on Deck 11…just a cool and different area; as MarQ said during the Morning Wave show this morning; there is no library on the ship, so they wanted to have an area where one could go and chill.

    Would you recommend to get a stateroom on the lido deck?

    • @CruisingWithDee
      @CruisingWithDee  Před 4 měsíci

      I think a stateroom on the Lido deck would be quite nice on this ship-easy walking access to the pool area, the buffet, the coffee shop and other eateries. I’m not a Lido deck person-I generally stay within a couple floors of the lower ship amenities like the casino, specialty restaurants, etc,-but I have stayed on the Lido deck on a Carnival ship and also really enjoyed it. Generally, you’ll pay a little more for a stateroom on the Lido deck than lower down in the ship.

    • @CruisingWithDee
      @CruisingWithDee  Před 11 měsíci

      Its hard to say because I was on the TransAtlantic, which tends to be more dressy than Caribbean cruises. Yes, in general people tend to be more dressy in the evenings, but I often see people in shorts and T shirts in the evenings on Carnival so you should be fine.

Lido Buffet, Deli Pizzeria del Capitano, Tomodoro (like Blue Iguana Cantina), Guy’s Burgers, and La Strada Grill. Also Swirls soft ice cream//frozen yogurt. Not much there yet since this is the first cruise. I’ll show that area off in the final Walking Tour in this series, which I’ll post this week after I return from the cruise.
