Used to be a match angler back in the day travelling here there and everywhere
But gave it all up when all the commercials started springing up everywhere here in the south
Great videos I'm sure ur qualify soon
Ur 80% there every time just the missing 20% to nail a qualifying spot
deserved to qualify on the trent though ur approach was spot on mate
All the best for the next qualifier
I want to see ur progress in the final
Unlucky Jamie,it was looking good. Had a great day talking to your dad through the match, explaining why you do things. Top man. Good luck on your next match, look forward to seeing you both again.
Thanks Anthony mate it was great to see you!
Unlucky mate but I have to admit i'm blown away by how sorted you have your set up and technique. Not seen much modern live match action as i'm just getting back into fishing but blimey that's impressive and a huge help for someone like me. Thanks and good luck.
Oh thanks for watching Graham! It's just practice and time on the bank mate, great to hear your back into your fishing!
Yet another great video Jamie, thank you so much for making the time for us to watch these videos. Ps, you make that under arm cast look so easy, I struggle so much with that personally, must keep practising I suppose. Look forward to your next one.
Thanks mate and thanks for watching again! Yes, it's just practice mate :)
Hi Jamie I dont know if you will read this but I would like to say your videos are excellent and I have learned so much from you that I use some of your methods and ways and its improved my feeder fishing no end .I will be watching everything you do. Again many thanks and keep going
Another great video Jamie, Patshull is a lovely venue, keep up the good work.Tight Lines Steve Amison
Thanks Steve mate and look forward to seeing you at Larford!
Great to see you and your dad at the weekend pal
Have to say the videos are still top draw and the quality and editing are the best on the net 😎
Thanks Kenny mate! Alway's great to see you and your one of the few who always has a smile no matter what! Although, your tans fading a bit, you haven't been on a plane for about a week have you! Haha
First time viewer and watched it end to end. Really nicely put together mate and great to watch a clearly skilled and thinking matchman go through his paces. New subscriber here (in Singapore !)
Another cracking video at a nice looking venue. Thanks .
Thanks Paul mate and yeah it's a lovely place mate :)
I remember fishing at Patshull Park (the smaller pool) back in the 80s and caught a few Crucian carp, although the main species at the time was bloody eels !!
Man, I've never enjoyed catching those things, but christ you should have seen all the Chinese tourists there, they were getting quite excited by the sight of the eels we were catching.....for some reason there were quite a few Chinese tourists walking around Patshull Park that day 🙄😆
Great video again.good insight on your approach on the day. keep the videos coming.
Thanks Mark mate and yes mate plenty more to come :)
It looks like a beautiful beautiful venue. I hope you are successful .
Well another great video,I did see you on sunday but didn't get chance to say hello,as a regular at Patsull the deeps are deep! 7/8 metres half way across is the norm and you could have 2/3 metre under your feet!!!.Two more bream and I'm sure you would have qualified, better luck next time.can't wait for your next report..........
Thanks Nigel! Sorry I missed you. I bet there good pegs in winter though aren't they?
Hi Jamie,As the weather gets colder the matches there are mainly on the deeps, weights of around 40lb + are quite common. Some of the pegs you only need to fish 3/4 m out in 2/4 m depth, so really theres no need to chuck a feeder to the other side!!!. Nigel...
Well done Jamie you give it your best shot as always. We have just fished the 3 rivers down here the bure thurne and the yare one river a day got m section on day one 25lb on the bure 1 point come last in m section on day two with 10lb skims on the thurne and got m section and river on the yare on day 3 with 51lb of small bream so 1 point again and a river super pools win finished just out of the top 5 pay day the second day last cost me bad but 3 pay packets and again a great match in good company .see you soon mate hopefully in the flesh one day. Laters
Oh thank you Trevor mate and that sounds like great fishing again!
Great video Jamie once again 👍🤗.....one thing that got me scratching my head???.......you have a great selection of bait 👍......but why haven't you got squats ??.....a killer addition to your feed mate 😉👍
Decent day that i need to start going out the area i love fishing and not been for about year this video made me want to pack my gear and go lol great footage👍👍👍
Another great vid mate, looks like you had a busy day but unlucky.........keep me updated for a meet up.
Thanks again Dave and thanks for watching mate! Can you email me regarding the meet up please? It's the best way I can get a day booked in like we did before with the lads it's jamieaharrison@hotmail.co.uk thanks Dave
Jamie excellent video as usual.think you fished a good match but as you well know you still need to draw the better pegs.hopefully next time you draw better. All the best Little Rich
Thanks Rich! Thanks for watching again much appreciated mate :)
You can't win em all Jamie, great video and info as alway's..thanks for sharing
Thanks mate and thanks for watching!
Good job😎👍🏼 Greetings from Germany 🇩🇪✌🏻️
Thanks mate and greetings from England! :)
CATCH Fishing Channel thx✌🏻️
Hi Jamie,
This video really nailed it. I so wanted to know the real details on your feed and tactics which in past videos was a bit hard to get. This was fantastic. Love your videos and the effort you put in for us. Best luck and much respect mate. Also. Massive matrix fan. 😊
Thanks Gary and I really appreciate the feed back thank you. I sometimes skip over some of the details so it's nice to know that they are of interest to some people so I'll try and include more if them in future. Thanks again mate!
CATCH Fishing Channel What also would be fantastic Jamie would be if you could let us know why and when you shorten your hooklengths or indeed make them longer such as taking fish on the drop or if they are feeding cagier etc. this info is gold for the aspiring angler like myself. Cheers mate 👍
@@garyoconnor6131 Yes OK mate will do!
CATCH Fishing Channel thanks so much Jamie. Cheers mate and tight lines
@@garyoconnor6131 Thanks mate you too :)
Fantastic video as usual Jamie , I have fished patshull a few times and would say I've never seen those bigger stamp bream come from the pegs in the deeps , I'd say you fished a great match from not the best of draws, the pegs to your left are usually better . Did anyone catch any trout ? , The underarm casting is something else btw !well done on a great production , it's a fantastic watch
Oh thanks Billy and thanks again for watching! Haha we do quite a bit of the underarm stuff now especially in the feeder only matches. Thanks again mate!
jamie this probably a daft question and i know this is a feeder match, but can you plumb the depth with a waggler with a shot on the hook so you could just cast out and work the waggler back towards you instead off making multiple cast with a bomb and reduce the chances of spooking fish from the swim...all the best scott
To be absolutely honest Scott I don't know! It's a nice idea though. Fish finders etc aren't allowed but I'm not sure a float or pole mate
Class video again Jamie enjoyed the end to end match unlucky mate thanks for sharing your time will come I am certain
Unlucky mate. Superb footage once again.
Thanks Marc much appreciated mate!
Reyt good effort Jamie. Enjoyed that pal and roll on next match.
Thanks Steve mate! Another LIVE match next week for ya mate ;)
Well done Jamie you did a good weight mate .
Good match not fare off love all the tips and ideas about changing set ups well bone keep fishing and filming thight lines
Well done bro as you say that was 2 more decent bream I am sure you will make it through the qualifiers
Thanks Bish mate! Are you managing to get out on the bank mate?
@@CatchFishingChannel every week mate bought a drone!!!!! I'm like Airwolf check out the Drone trainee video
@@FishWithBish Hahaha Airwolf is still on TV isn't it I saw it a couple of weeks back on a Saturday morning! haha
Great Video Jamie Thanks can you use a keepnet there if not match fishing
Nice job Jamie, you would have to be a fish to know what to better:) you chance to qualify will come.
Haha thanks Vince!
Hard luck Jamie, fished a tidy match
Thanks mate, yeah it was nice to get a few bites some lads went hours without a sign!
WHAT A DIFFERENT WORLD wATCHING ON 06/07 2021 AND KNOWING I CAN NOT GO OUT AGAIN DUE TO MASKS NOT BEING MANDATORY FROM THE 19TH FOR A LONG TIME
Good fishing Jamie ;)
Thanks again Frank!
Great to see you fish, very pro anf fluid. What did you change with the hook and hooklength? Any dropper shots?
Sorry for what may be a silly question. What was the depth in feet, and how do you calculate that with the timing?
Hi mate, unfortunately I don't even try to work it out in feet as there are so many variables. It was just a case of seeing how it compared to the rest of the venue. The shallows up to my left for example are only 1 second deep so we knew that the fish would be up in the water on our pegs if that makes sense mate.
Unlucky mate looked like a grate days fishing fingers crossed the next match goes better than this one. Loving the amount of videos come out keep up the grate work mate. 🎣🎣
Thanks Evan mate! Yes the next one is on the river Trent so it will be something different and yes mate I'm doing my best to upload one a week for you :)
@@CatchFishingChannel looking forward to it mate. good luck :)
@@BCH48 Thanks mate!
Am i right in seeing that when you took the hooklength off at 16:58 you just discarded it in the lake.
Keep it up Jamie. I'm sure you'll qualify.
Thanks mate!
Nice catch’s
Thanks mate and thanks for watching!
Jamie would you mind proving you actually replied by saying hi Nicky please because it would mean a lot
Much prefer to watch a good/great match angler fishing a natural venue rather than any commercial.
Have you tried Ivan marks method of popping up maggots?
I didn't that day mate. Is that a method you fish?
No I can’t fish a rod that well , not an accurate caster .
Hi Jamie great video and sorry you didn’t qualify. I think possibly you are a little hard on yourself as you did beat the anglers around you and you can’t do better than that from your peg. I am confident given a good draw you will get there and your hard work pays off! Me I’m of to a small stream with a whip and some maggots for a couple of hours of pleasure. Regards Bill
Thanks for watching Bill and yeah we are always learning aren't we. How did the fishing on the stream go mate?
Hi Jamie well the fishing was ok apart from losing a couple of bigger fish in snags! The journey was a nightmare on the M25 two hours to go 35 miles and heavy on the way back!! Just seeing if I have enough decent footage to stitch a video together. Take care and I look forward to your next qualifier video. You will hit a run of form sooner rather than later, just need to tune those fingers before they go in that draw bag! Regards Bill
@@easyfishing1936 Oh no mate it must awful having to deal with the M25 all the time, us northerners are blessed not having it in our area!
Hi Jamie the M25 can be a nightmare but the loss of flow in our rivers and loss of fishing rights is much worse. My local river the Gt Ouse can be stationary a lot of the year and the small tributary I fished yesterday has dropped by about 18 inches. Also in this part of the country tackle shops are getting rare and those that survive are mostly geared to carp fishing. The matchfishing scene is very sparse too. As for house prices don’t even go there! Anyway enough moaning just keep up with your video’s as I enjoy them so much. RegardsBill
@@easyfishing1936 Oh Bill you've highlighted some of the things I hear about. The match 'scene' is very patchy and I feel sorry for some of the anglers out there who always have to travel a long way. It must suck the enjoyment out of it sometimes :(
Perfekt fishing video
Nice bit of social distancing at the draw
one of the est pegs on the lake
Have come across your videos as am
Trying to get into match fishing. However, I havent got loads of fishing gear. Was just wondering the type of gear you need to fish these matches? I see everyone has these chairs and stuff. Do people have them as it makes life easier? I’ve only got a chair and and rod rest. Is that good enough? Is the only thing you actually really need is a keep net?
as long as u have a rod gear bait u r ready 4 matches don't need all the shit some ppl have ,good luck, the nets r only used 4 matches as a rule ppl don't use em or r not allowed regarding where u r fishing
Hello Jamie!What seat box is that...S 25 or 36?
Wow
Where is the best places to find fishing matches around Peterborough/Lincolnshire
The two that spring to mind in that area are Ferry Meadows and Decoy Lakes mate
@@CatchFishingChannel cheers
No cloud ground bait?
its 13 ft in the edge at end of hotel car park bubbles everywhere but that's all no fish,i think u r opposist the arm hotel right behind u by heli pad
Yeah I bet that area is good later in the year when it cools down isn't it mate?
that arm opposite u is known as the glory hole ,b honest don't really fish in the winter so much getting at that age but nice vid and tight lines as they say
@@mickowen568 Oh right! Thanks Mick mate and thanks again for watching :)
Surprised you didn't get agro off the pike in there.
No not a sign, are there lots of Pike in there mate?
@@CatchFishingChannel yes mate, in the winter I fished the pike qualifiers there.
Oh right! I can see why they'd grow in there mate, loads of differences in depth and loads of food!
@@CatchFishingChannel yeah there's a good stock of all species in there especially trout.
What did Dan web weigh
Привет. На сало не пробовали?)
I'm knew to this channel, I liked this vid a lot but are you sponsored by matrix?
Thank you and welcome aboard! Yes mate
That's cool. I've watched most of your match fishing vids now and I've loved them all! One of my fave youtubers now. I'd love to have all the gear you have! Keep doing what you are doing!
Thank you mate and thanks for watching and supporting the channel, there are plenty more videos coming. Have a great week!
We love catching fish, but as a carp angler of 30 plus years who started on the bread and begging for a hook and a castor as a kid, I watch these talented match anglers and often I see they are not enjoying the day out quite often. I worked with one sponsored angler once who didn't care for he fish or the nature it was black and white winning or not, he could not understand why I went for pleasure and to enjoy not catching. You seem to buck the trend which is good.
Are you sponsored??? By matrix
Yes I am mate
Ivan who
Why don't you just ball in groundbait instead of casting all the time?
Crotch cam 😂
Go pike fishing get a big a joy out of fishing instead of doin that pish
