- Enjoy this 77 minute film created for Disasterpeace's new generative ambient album, Standstill. And don't forget to turn on closed captions for the interview I did Disasterpeace himself, where he covers the making of the album and more.
Play the game Paradise Marsh to run around these environments yourself! bit.ly/ParadiseMarshGame
THE ALBUM:
From Rich: "Standstill is A 77 minute ambient album and the second half of the Paradise Marsh soundtrack, but it's also sort of its own thing / kind of a standalone project. In Paradise Marsh, since the Lost Souls content update, if you stand still, the music system will just keep playing the same phrase over and over again but in different variations - that's where the inspiration for Standstill came from.
It's 20 tracks comprised of the procedural music systems from the game, including critter sounds (which are in the same key as the music) and various environments. Each track is essentially a "day" made up of three stages : daytime, nighttime, and "sky" (which is like, looking at the stars)"
THE FILM:
Was created over a couple months, one song at a time. LazyEti, creator of Paradise Marsh made me a custom "filmmakers" build of the game so I could capture a bunch of fun angles. The build gave me control over the environments' time-of-day, critters, shooting stars, constellations, lightning, and various other elements.
There's 11 environments in the game, so I went through each one and mined as many cool angles as possible, which helped me keep track of what I captured. I wanted every shot to be unique, no duplicates! (okay there's a few) but with 12 hours and 50Gbs of footage, this was by far the longest edit I've ever made!

Thank you so much for directing this wonderful film Clint!
You've perfectly captured the essence of Paradise Marsh ✨🐸
And thank you for entrusting me with it! That was toooooooo much fun!
So cool when two of my favorite artists from two different mediums join forces. Rich has had a huge impact on my life over what seems like the last 20 years now and Clint kept my sanity in check during the pandemic teaching me 3D modeling. You guys are the best
❤
This is beautiful, thank you so much.
That's such a cool stylistic choice to fade out trees in the distance into one solid colour!
This is brilliant! Thank you so much for making this happen! I played this game the day it came out, and have been looking forward to a something like this since! ☺
Just want to say, I've been following Disasterpiece ever since I came across one of his tracks on a Chiptune website, way before he even scored a game; even back in 2007 his music stood out from the rest of the pack. It's been amazing to see his career flourish over the years into games, movies, and creative projects like this, and gratifying to see the talent I recognized all those years ago be celebrated and rewarded.
Disasterpeace is a genius, this is so cool.
You take it to the next level, bro. Great work.
What a great idea and even better execution. This is going to be a go-to video for me. Great work guys. ❤
So awesome to hear it! I’m glad it connected for you :)
So good!!!!
Great job Clint!
Ah I hope my former friend who likes Disasterpeace stuff find this. This is a super cool collaboration and they're the only other person I know that listens to Disasterpeace
Good work!
really cool
beautiful
I love ambient music too! That's all I listen to nowadays. Really cool film you've made, it's so beautiful and relaxing
What are some of your favorites? These days i'm hooked on Mount Shrine, Ryuichi Sakamoto x Alva Noto, and Warmth.
@@pwnisher I like Mount Shrine! I was listening to a lot of Hazy and Andy Leech. But a lot of times I just explore random channels.
@@beyondcinema Oh you know Mt. Shrine! That's awesome! I'll check out Hazy and Andy Leech, thanks for the rec man!
Oh this is so nice
beautiful💌
So atmospheric and dream like,!!!!
Been waiting for days to hear/see this. I can picture Eno being jealous..
Oh what's up dad! Good to see you here!
This video deserve 99 million v
Nice 👍
DIsasterpiece will forever have my admiration for his It Follows OST. Goat.
It was Hyper Light Drifter for me.
Fez here, but It Follows and Hyper Light Drifter are also incredible.
When I was watching It Follows in the theatre I was so pissed that the composer ripped off Disasterpiece. Immediately after leaving I had to google and was relieved to see it was him who composed the movie.
^^ lol 😂 ❤
I was hoping for a longer interview :P
Reminds me of Oskar Sala's Trautonium music, its so dreamy!
YES🎉
Feels like sky cotl❤❤❤
I listen to this all the time haha, I’m probably accounting for over a hundred views at this point haha
I just remembered my good old friend whose online nickname was MasterOfDisaster. I gotta ping that guy, see how he's doing.
Wowww Clint you got to work with Disasterpiece? That’s awesome man!
we worked together on the boss fight video too :)
I played Paradise Marsh right after my Lolo passed away. The game was on my radar because, as someone who has submitted to Famicase for the better part of a decade, I was familiar with the Famicase it's partially inspired by (shoutout grizz!), along with AGBIC. After seeing the trailer, and hearing tidbits of Disasterpeace's music, I made sure I kept tabs on it's development, and played it within a week of it's initial release.
I kept myself in the dark about what it was about or how it played, outside of it kind of reminded me of Proteus (a personal fav), and after playing, especially with the themes the game explored, the game's dream-like atmosphere and the close proximity of the release to the events in my personal life, It's definitely a piece of art that'll stick with me for the rest of my life. Big thanks to Disasterpeace, LazyEti and pwnisher for the beautiful game, music, and film.
❤
Disastertron FTW 🤖
spamtron made killer music
It reminds me of some type of Landfall game, just more chill and with less ragdolls
omg
@pwnisher Was this all c4d? I haven't made any low poly or toon looks yet! Ive seen this look/style alot out of blender! Either way nice!
It was game capture from Paradise Marsh. All made by @lazyeti in Unity!

pretty cool guy!
just came here to say that art style is not called low poly. it's more like cell shading, or limited pallette
akshully out
But it is also low poly
this truly gives the chill vibes of all the Indie pixel games but i got to be honest this vid is pretty boring to me some may like it but imma skip and watch some content
This is nice...
👇I want to be the top comment, like it.
Sorry, soooooooooo boring
lmao
Hello, may I ask, how do we join your discord? It is asking for a phone number and password.
Hmmm, that's not normal, maybe try updating, refreshing, and try again?
@@pwnisher Will do
Yep still asked for my phone number, then Discord verification code, then asks for a password.
