Oh Em Gee I got qualifies in three and four ball in less than five minutes after watching the technique part. Thought this was a long way off, but happened on it in my feed. THANK YOU!
Interesting approach. For me it was very helpfull to practicing 5 b overhead from a coldstart at the beginning, to get into the pattern. After 2 weeks I started from a cascade. But anyway great tutorial.
very helpful never noticed really about the front to back throw. been struggling with OH throws since few months... can do 6 catches of 4b but will be easier with the proper technique i guess. worth working on 552, 5550, 3b snake OH or you can easily move to 5b once you get the good technique ??? you’re my fav juggler phil !!!
Thanks for watching! It is possible that 552, 55550, or other exercises could be helpful when learning 5b OH, but I think they might be less-so than when learning the standard 5b cascade with normal throws. With OH, I think slowly building up the full pattern in OH might be the best way to go. Still personal preference--good luck!
Great work, but this type of juggling should not really be called "overhead"; it needs a new name. The technique you use here is Jason Garfield and Anthony Gatto's type of "overhead". But it can't be done while lying on your back. The true overhead juggling is done by Thomas Dietz and Chris Hodge. They can run 5 and more objects over the head AND while lying on their backs. I would suggest that this kind of juggling be called "from the chest" or "elbow-wide." The origin and catching points are not actually over the head in this style you teach, no matter how many jugglers (mostly because of Gatto) call this "overhead" juggling. 🙂
Fair point, indeed. Still, the release and catching points are noticeably above the head for each throw. But I see what you mean. There are definitely other juggling misnomers as well. Crotch throws come to mind. I have yet to see people successful run crotch throws while throwing each and every club with their crotch! Hahaha. Guess that's maybe why that trick has like 5 names. Thanks for checking out the channel, John! Take care brother
John, this reply is for the comment you posted on the 360s video. For whatever reason, CZcams has the comment in my notifications, but when I try to go to the video or respond it seems to think the comment doesn't exist. Anyway... Glad you got some value from the video! 360s are a lot of fun, I think. Have you worked much on 360s in the past? Or starting fresh? Hmm, I think I did about 1 minute and a half once. I've been over a minute many times. I don't really train endurance, but I would like to hit 2 minutes at some point.
Phil your alive!!
Yes I am!
Phil Thompson Haha good! I am glad you are still juggling. When is six trick Saturday starting?
Maybe once I finish school lol

Thanks Phil for yet another helpful tutorial! Just curious, do you still fill your russians to 100g?
Yes, still use 100g!

Rudy Horn was another master of true overhead juggling.
