  • Couch shopping can be difficult. When I was looking at an IKEA Kivik, of course I looked for reviews. I didn't really find what I needed!
I've made this review to help you get more info and make the best decision for your home and style.
Let me know if you have any questions. I'm happy to help!
My written reviews (with photos) of the IKEA Kivik and Ektorp sectional are linked below. (we've owned both of them)
Thanks for watching. See you soon!

UPDATE: Replacement Legs for the IKEA Kivik sofa or sectional.
I recently spoke with Comfort Works concerning their replacement legs for the IKEA Kivik sofa. These replacement legs are perfect if you want a taller sofa/couch!
This is what they told me.
" Any of our replacement legs below will fit the IKEA Kivik sofa. comfort-works.com/en/replacem...
Here are some additional guidelines for the replacement sofa legs:
    Installation:
    1. If your sofa is one of the models listed on the product page (IKEA sofa with M8 bolt) then just unscrew the old legs and screw on the new legs. Do NOT tighten all the way. Just screw on until the upper surface of the (leg) touches the underside of the sofa.
    2. If your sofa has removable legs, just get a furniture leg mounting plate (available at any hardware store) and use it as an adaptor to attach our legs to the sofa, same with any cabinet, shelf, etc.
    FAQ:
    1. What is M8 bolt size?
M8 bolt size is common across many Ikea sofa legs. Depending on the model, customers can remove their original legs by unscrewing or using the original tools (e.g. KD needs the original long arm hex key to unscrew). US equivalent of M8 size is 5/16 inch.
    2. What is a furniture leg mounting plate?
It functions as an adapter so that the sofa leg can be used with any furniture that can't be fitted with the M8 bolt or flat surfaces like counters and shelves. We don't sell them YET.
    Not recommended for sofa beds."
I hope this helps if you want more height added to your IKEA Kivik sofa.~ Tanya

HUGE thanks! Customer Service was pretty bad, but I'm delighted with the new Sectional....thanks to your review!! Any folks who haven't shopped at IKEA before....make sure you do some research before showing up. Additionally, I was able to transport everything I needed for the 5 Seat corner with Chase Kivik in a 2014 F150 (small bed) with the seats pulled up. Hope that helps someone. It was tight, but ratchet straps and some determination helped. Not a 1 person job.

I have had my Kivik 2 seater with the chase & foot stool for 9 years in the dark grey cover. It is in the basement & the grandchildren when they were younger, have used it for a launching pad, a trampoline & a place to sleep. 2 dogs were in the mix also. It is in great shape. Very sturdy.Cushions still very comfortable. I think I can get another 9 years out of it & just ordered a different color slip cover. The only thing I did different was order legs from Ikea to make it a little higher.

Thank you for this review! I have a question: Does the sofa need to be taken apart to change the slipcover, especially as pertains to the frame? I haven’t taken the entire slipcover off because so far it’s been really easy to just wipe clean. Funny you say you had the Ektorp then switched it out to the Kivik - I literally had the Ektorp delivered yesterday and I hate it! Am looking at the Kivik too - can I ask what you didn't like about the Ektorp? I am finding that the cushions are very very hard and have absolutely no give I as a very light person am sat on top of it and can't sink into it, if this makes sense. It's very uncomfortable. The Kivik looks to just have memory foam cushions and not the extra padding on top that the Ektorp has.

Hi Ana. I think they’re both similar in quality. It just really depends on what you’re looking for. The Kivik is a bigger sectional and looks more modern. The Ektorp is great for small spaces and has more of a cottage or farmhouse style. Although it’s smaller, no one in my family had a problem with the size or comfort. Just be sure to measure your space. Hopefully you can get to a showroom and try them both out! I don’t think you could really go wrong with either choice. 😁
