My question is, who got fired for this genius move?
Answer: nobody, they probably got a promotion. That’s how government works, you fail your way up.
The Captain of the Bomb Squad was a DEI Hire. Just like the other person said: They got a Promotion.
The poor low-wage worker who sold the fireworks got fired.
Everybody else got a raise in pay.
How folly of the people who are supposed to "Serve and Protect," detonated a ballistic explosive in a densely populated environment, with blatant disregards to human safety, an d safety protocols. Of course, this is my opinion, and only know oneside of story.
No one did? The district attorney used your tax paying money to pay the tab
Irresponsible, incompetent or corrupt people in charge of Tax payers money
And, just how many of these marvelous benefactors of the City Council are up for re-election in a few months?
$20 million, each family will probably get a $700 settlement

As a pyro technician, I can tell you somebody screwed up!
They should find a job they're good at and stick with it.
I'm not a pryo technician and I can tell you they screwed up.
If they could hold down a real job they'd never have become cops in the first place
@@323jzuniga what was your first clue? it's look like a Transformer starting to change
Surely as in other countries there are laws about storing explosives, because that is what pyrotechnics are . The conditions and distances from buildings , roads and the public . Then the insurance to hold and store pyro, public liability etc.
Then again mad men have a finger on a nuclear device .
Learn from this tragic incident.
Tighten up the law and enforce it .
?
Is that possible?
Well it is common sense , is there any around .
I doubt it .
@@rabnori4836 Yup! We store explosives in an ATF-approved magazine located from designated distances noted in the 'Orange Book'.
So stupid! Why take so long to reimburse these people? The should have repaired or rebuilt their homes right away. Then let the victims decide if they wanted to stay or sell their revamped / new homes. What a waste of time and money. I hope they don't botch the distribution of funds to the victims.
idiocracy is expensive
Wtf!!! That definitely should come from the cop union not the tax payers!! Sick of this sh!t
it was someone else's mistakes. someone higher up. don't punish the officers. not in Los Angeles. they risk their lives every day.
Pizza delivery drivers take more risks every day. Stfu@@everennui1
Officers in California do as little as possible stop the nonsense.
They do little as possible because your liberal city officials and governor want to punish them for doing their job by the law and award criminals. @@joesmith3590
Lol you wish
10 million to hotel 10 million to lawyers 1 million to the homeless fund
The split will be nothing with inflation. 😂
I wonder how many politicians are gonna get a bite out of that apple?
Man I would have been mad if it took 3 years and now they have to wait again to get their Houses rebuilt!
21 million divided by 35 homes? Minus the money going to the lawyers pockets? I'll be surprised if they each get $500,000
"after a botched detonation of illegal fireworks"
* shows ground zero of an atomic bomb detonation *
There’s no reason for the city to pay millions of dollars to these people. The person who sell those illegal fireworks should take responsible for his/her own mistake. The city made laws against the fireworks way before they sell out the stuffs in the streets. C’mon these guys need to take accountabile!
Why oh why should the city pay? What about the person that owned the fireworks?
They funded The homeless bill but homeless crisis are getting worst then it took 3 years for these voters tax paying citizens to get what they deserve
Oh my goodness California taxpayers again you just got f*****!
That kind of our thing…
By the LAPD. As usual
The whole neighborhood was buying illegal fireworks from this guy now they get taxpayer money. Nice.
👏🏼 👏🏼. America ! 🇺🇸
fireworks shouldn't even be illegal
@@roaryou're nuts . They cause fires, noise and harm people and property. This state sucks. They dont even bother enforcing the law.
@@cliffdariff74 as do cars. authoritarian.
I should be allowed to let off fireworks every night and wake my neighbors. That is my right as an american. FREEEDOM
They literally made a bomb 💣. Did they not know that fireworks have gun powder? 💥
The councilman said LAPD learned, doesnt sound like the city council or the mayor learned A GDT!
Living in a hotel was so hard😂
Did they think it was a bomb? What was the point of the detonation?
WTH. Fix there homes. Give them a million tax free for their trouble plus any expenses incurred during the time. It's not rocket science. Tax payers won't pay exorbitant taxes for the court/lawyer costs and the victims are compensated.
DEI
Strikes again 😂
Shows how much the government cares about you average everyday citizens. Took 3 years.
Haven’t heard from Ron gochez since at least 13 years ago. Glad to see him out there boots on the ground putting in the GOOD FIGHT ! Also glad for the residents of that neighborhood.
3 YEARS , what a joke.
Really this is ridiculous three years to make this right and what's worse is that the bomb squad professionals in bomb disposal are the one's who screwed up
The police can’t handle sparklers, let alone a truck load full of fireworks
The Captain of the Bomb Squad was a DEI Hire.
Stop lying racist bitch you won't stop the browning of Amerikkka
DEI hires includes veterans. You’re saying veterans are incompetent?
No he wasn’t. Race baiter.
So none of these people had insurance?
Karen price is dumb.. take it from the police union
"iT sHoUlDn'T cOSt tHe tAXpaYErs"...
Well it is so live with it 🙄 😒
Why not move the truck to a remote safe location then deal with illegal fireworks?
I was reading somewhere that would have been unsafe.
@@eriks8382
Unsafe? How?
@@GlennKurusu any slight movement would have set them off. basically imagine the same thing would have happened in the middle of a freeway in LA traffic.
@@eriks8382
Now, it makes sense. Thank you!
Yall gotta put out the money. Its sad.
Still sounds like a nightmare!
cops, what would else would you expect? I hope the cops got to pay for this!
Comment withheld
Californiastan 🤦
Lol
Meritocracy was nice…
On Sunday someone was drinking. Who would set off a bomb in the city.
It's all because of 'rightwing extremists!' 😂
Good luck if they see 100k each
Why the city? Sue the ones that had the illegal fireworks. Also, the people in the neighborhoods are the ones buying these illegal fireworks. People loss the way of reasoning!
LAPD should have known better. Ironically keeping those fireworks there and selling them off individually would have been safer than this giant fuckup
That’s 4 houses
Level is a super nice hotel tho. Can’t believe I Stayed in 2br suture with washer and dryer for like $100 night.
Crazy now city paying money
If they sent in Shemar Moore/Hondo it wouldn't have happened!
God job mayor..
how much of this settlement will be paid by the Hispanics who brought the fireworks into LA?
I remember this well
$21,000,000 isn't even enough for one house in LA wtf
Enjoy being banned off CZcams you bot 😂
Thank goodness that didn't detonate inside that home. They need to stiffen fines for illegal fireworks and some of that money could be put back into the funds they took it from.
No one was fired no one was responsible thats why the taxpayers have to pay the bill.. Maria is really happy about the millions of dollars of taxpayers money.
You choose to live in California
Sounds like the city got a big bang out of this one......
democrat run city democrat run po po
Why not a Billion dollars? 🤔 L.A. city council are a pile of... The police dept. just following the guidance of the city.
Im not gonna lie that line about celebrating all the holidays at the hotel made me confused.. like you can definitely celebrate it at another family members house. Not having an xmas tree set up in the hotel room should be the least of your worries 😅
...😮😳
Did no one have homeowners insurance?!?! Bunch of leeches.
More than likely homeowners insurance probably doesn't cover fireworks damage
💯👍
Outlaw all public fireworks
How does this make sense? Why are they in hotels three years later? Put in a claim for repairs and call it a day.
You realize most home insurance policies have deductibles in the 10k’s? Is someone going to have that kind of money just lying around? In south la? Nah f that make the lapd pay it out of their pockets.
Only in CA. Lol.
Californicating the taxpayers
😂 Cali is Ridiculous
So they were all “displaced” because some of their windows got broken and they got frightened… $21 million what a joke! Just a bunch of leeches trying to cash in.
GD clowns in this state! holy hell!!!
But they were trying to keep the streets safe.🫢
