    U are a lifesaver, idk what happened to mine, but basically, it won’t recibe any battery, no matter how hard i try, so when i managed to get the seats down and the + pole of the battery was basically melted, fixed in abt 20 mins, THANK U!

  • @thomasgordon1181
    @thomasgordon1181 Před 3 lety +2

    Instead of taking the seats apart there is enough room in the split of the seats to get a broomstick through and use it to pull the emergency lever (glowing triangle) you also have more room to see what it is you are trying to do. TIP: be sure to try to open the trunk to give you some light in the trunk area!

      It works ! I have use a stick with a small endoscopic camera stiched to. It's enought to push the handle and unlock the back seat (there are no emergency lever in european cars)

      This method worked for me. After taking the seat apart and being unsuccessful. Using a broomstick 🧹 between the split did the trick.

    Found this video when my trunk actuator started chattering. It was only a matter of time before it stopped opening all together. I bought the new trunk actuator from FCP Euro for around $160.00. Easy fix, did it myself because my independent mechanic quoted me around $400.00. Works like new again. 👍🏼

    Thank you so much for this vid, I was completely lost, not much help on the forum and then I came across some video of a guy who cut a whole behind his license plate. I almost, threw up 😵.
    In the forum everyone just kept saying "valet lock" in the glove box 🤦🏻‍♂️. Duh we tried that asshats I'm not a total jackass.... I was about to tear the rear seat actuator a new one and pry it open. So thank you for saving me from myself.

    My F22 M240i coupe has just begun developing an issue with the boot (that's Trunk in UK/Aust english 😊) - It occassionally doesn't close - despite my getting out and slamming it shut - but the moment I sat in my driver's seat, the boot slightly opens .. Looking at your clip and Googling some threads, looks like this is a known issue on the F generation 2 and even 3 series

    Bummer man. My 235i just started having this crazy grinding sound on hard acceleration. Turns out the handbrake cable bracket goes out and rubs on the drive shaft under hard acceleration. Not covered on warranty, and dealer quoted me 800+ to fix a plastic bracket for brake cable since they have to drop the fuel tank. Gotta love it!

      BMW engineers don't have common sense. German automakers use too much complexity resulting in bad reliability and practicality just to keep their leasing customers happy. 3 years is an average for trendy wheels before it starts crumbling. First layer will be electronics, and this is usually a warning sign before the actual storm.

    Thanks for this video! The trunk latch actuator for my 2015 228i was starting to fail and was making the chattering sound. It would still open and I folded down the rear seats in case of total failure. I then ordered the part from FCP Euro. Without your heads up I may have been in much worse shape. Do you recall what size torx tool was required to remove/replace the latch actuator?

    Maybe this has been commented only, but my 2015 235 has a ski hatch thing down the middle of the rear seats that folds down completely to provide access through to the trunk. Thinking this could've been an easier option to access the seat fold down levers or emergency release. Based on all the trouble you went through I'm assuming yours doesn't have it, maybe its only a feature on Canadian models idk. Anyways thanks for the heads up, how much did the new actuator cost?

    Do you ever get in the car, and put the car in reverse and see that the Rear Camera is "not connect" cause the trunk is open? It sounds crazy but I come out to the car all the time and the trunk has been opened. I don't know if its cause the button is getting pressed in my pocket but I just cant see that being it cause you have to press and hold and its happened soooo many times. Just curios if this ever happens to you. Great Videos! Keep it up!
