Everyone is out here saying they think of an evil spy, but to be honest, this sounds like an extra smooth, crispy villain trying to convince the good-hearted, naïve protagonist to do increasingly more dubious and darker acts for them by saying what they are doing is justified.

This song makes me think of a very specific scenario.
Two childhood or high school friends meet again after a good swath of time with little to no contact.
The perspective character (or singer), has gotten into shady & questionably moral but highly profitable risky business & is trying to convince their old friend to get into it, exploiting the nostalgia their former relationship brings & reassuring them that they're still that good kid they met all that time ago.
Since the song has a very spy thriller vibe to it, I'd like to think the shady friend is hiring the good friend to be a hitman & actually succeeds in getting them into into the fold- the marks getting more & more morally dubious as the instrumental gets more intense & sinister. With the final drop the song goes out on playing as the good friend breaks out of the shady friend's trance & escapes the business or gives them a taste of the medicine they themselves bought.
That is the plot of war dogs...

I feel like this is the song that plays during the main villain's "building a contraption and plan to perfectly stymie the team of heroes" and he's got like those circular welding goggles on and there's an arc welder sparking through the whole video and making these extremely precise welds and titrations in his laboratory and we see glimpses of his whiteboard and him erasing/crossing shit out as he tries/fails/succeeds and towards the end we start to see a little bit of that devilish grin as his invention/plan comes to fruition

@D3 I don’t fully understand the meaning of this song yet so I can’t guarantee what style it is, but from the tit bit of context that I got from the lyrics, it’s a song talking about an often serious subject but put in a very upbeat, happy tone, songs like this I do enjoy a lot, but I think the best recommendation I could think of out of this style is “Choke” by I Don’t Know How But They Found Me, I just think they’re similar in some way

From a few lyrics I’ve picked up I think they’re talking about how painful the live of a famous artist is, like “you’re in too deep to go back again” saying how the person has became too famous that he cannot turn back anymore even if he wants to or “no, you don’t own me, you don even know me” (could be) talking about how the fans that would follow the artist everywhere he goes and basically control or own his life by trying to cancel him every time the artist did some thing they don’t like
