As a licensed stylist, I would not recommend flipping the tool backwards at the roots as applying air plus heat against the grain on the hair cuticle repeatedly will eventually lead to frizz and breakage, especially to the baby hairs at the hairline.
I will say, even with a regular straightener, I have a hard time getting the back of my head without flipping the tool lol so I'm curious if you have any tips for us girls with super curly roots!
Thank you so much for doing this review Julissa! This hairtool is very impressive👌. I can't wait for you to do comparisons 😁.
Aaahhh I been waiting for you to review this ! ❤ thank you for doing so ! ❤️
I was waiting for this review. The results are awesome. I’m so impressed 😍
We’ve all been waiting for you to review it julissa thank you!
I have been waiting for your review on this!!
I have the dyson airwrap, straighter and now definitely ordering this !
I am excited for this one! Looking forward to the comparisons. I'm interested in how it will work to refresh / tame kinks.
Thank you! I was dying to see this. The ghd duet made my hair a frizzball and the revlon scares me but this one looks cool!
I was waiting for you to review this. You are my go to!
👍Excellent results Julissa I absolutely love the way this Dyson tool leave your hair. I'll get mine, no doubts. Thank you always for your well articulated , honest and clear reviews - you are in the LEADING testing tools on You Tube. Well done.
I was waiting patiently for you to try this. S/N Dyson should absolutely be sponsoring you.
Thank you for honest review!
I was waiting for your review on this because I trust your opinions. I wasn't so sure about getting this because of the price, but the way you talk about it is having me consider maybe getting it later on. Thank you for your honesty!
Of course! 💕 I’ll keep posting more videos using it so stay tuned!! 🥰❤️
This thing guves me hope for a straight look without damaging the hair that much ... please tell us how it holds in humidity, but without a basic straightener touch up. Thank you for this review... impressive tool indeed.
Really love and enjoy your review as usual. Hope you can do a review to compare the dyson airstrait and the airwrap smoothing brush
I’m so getting it, excited. Them I can use the wrap to curl😊. Girl your hair is straight.
Excited! ❤
I just mine today. I can’t wait to try it
I have been waiting for this review! My wallet is not going to love it, but I always get so tired of blowing out my hair with the Dyson supersonic hair dryer that it’s usually freeze so I have to straighten it after. This would do both in one 💕💕 and I know that if it worked on your hair it will definitely work on mine. Thank you!
I love it! 😩😍 and it dried my hair so quickly I was very surprised! 😳
I bought this yesterday and I’m really excited to see how it works! I have naturally thick curly hair and every time I try to style it it takes me hours and my root are usually still wet which gives my hair a big frizzy look… but anyways I’m so excited!
Let us know, how did it work out for you.
I got it too but I have mixed feelings. :(. Let us know plz what you think after you try it
Been waiting on your review Thanks! Pls watch other videos that really highlight all the specs on the Air strait …..because there’s multiple settings for u to use depending on your hair, it shows how it automatically turns off when u set it down, the 3 air temp settings, how it turns up the air control when u clamp down to straighten but then stops when u release, etc. U can tell I’ve been watching ALL the Dyson air strait videos 😂. Yessss pls compare to others thanks!
I came looking for this video, and you have it! Waiting for the Drybar, though I don't expect it to work that well.
I was waiting for your review! I had the airwrap and it took me so long to dry my hair then style and then i had to use the flat iron because it never gave me the results of a sleek hair. I got the aistraight the day after its release in NYC. I thought it wasnt going to work on my hair. And thank god it did because i wanted to finally get rid of the airwrap. I travel alot and travelling with it and all its attachments was just too much. And to think about the time invested to then have to use another tool was a little bit stressful. So after i used the airstraight for the first time put my airwrap on sale and bye. BTW after you dry your hair you can seal by switching to dry mode. And also giving it a boost for more volume with the boost option (red button)
I was waiting for your review on this
I have this item sitting in my bathroom as I haven’t had a chance to use it however I’m excited now.
Thank you for your video. Mine should arrive any day. Thanks for the root tip my hair is very thin and fine so I'm worried may be too flat tbd
Thank you Julissa. I just bought my Dyson. 😊
Hope you enjoy it!! ❤️🥰
You got really good results!!! ❤ did you use the boost mode at the end ? I watched so many videos that I ended up ordering it since I love dyson’s technology and it was delivered this morning. I can’t wait to try it tonight. Hopefully I have the same wow moment as you 😌
Did you end up liking it a lot?
Great video - wish I could find someone with 3c or 4a curls demoing this tool…
Mine comes tomorrow. I need FRIZZ HELP and a straightener. I sure hope this helps frizz too!! Thank for the video Julissa! Please let us know if it frizzes later!! 💕💕💕
Did it help?
Hi Julissa! Your hair turned out amazing! Can I just recommended you use some sort of ear plugs while using these loud tools. 😊 my apple watch does say some of the hair tools are loud enough to potentially cause hearing problems (Dyson airwrap, revlon one step volumizer)
Just got the airwrap, and now I’m thinking of getting this instead! ❤️
If you like your hair straight is so much better and the curls dont last with the airwrap. My combination is the dyson + the ghd platinum if i want curls.
I'm kinda annoyed that I just got the Airwrap and a week or two later, Dyson released this Airstrait. lol Especially since my old ceramic straightener is dying and for some reason, I thought the Airwrap had a straightener attachment. Gah!
@@carlamacapinlac9130 just return it
Please do a GHD Duet Style comparison :) . I am curious to see which one gives curly hair (I have similar hair to you) a smoother and sleeker look.
I just ordered the Dyson airwrap and I think this new tool can work better on my hair bc it's wavy
Hy Julissa. WOW i am so glad you like it. It looks so good. This tool is amazing. Your hair looks so beautiful.$ 500 dollars😮. Once again, it's good that you liked it because $500 is not cheap. I really liked it but for the type of hair I have I wouldn't need to spend a lot but for those with curly hair I think it's great tool. Great video as always keep up the good job. God bless You always.💕
cool this helps!! can you make a comparison with the airwrap, please!
Finally! Somebody with curly hair like me. Thanks for your honest video. I just subscribed. Looking forward for more videos.
😩💕 thank you!!!
@@JulissaGuillen your video just showed up in my TV. I'm grateful. I saw a Patty Alonso video with the Dyson. But she doesn't have curly hair. I do rolos, blower and plancha every weekend. I like this new Dyson. Hugs 💞
Dyson does it again!! I need this so I can review it tooo ❤
It's probably shut down because it's using a lot of heat and the motor, in order to protect itself from overheating, has to shut down to cool off. That's actually a nice fail safe. This is a pretty amazing hair too!! Can't wait to get mine! Like you, I love running my fingers through my hair when my hair is smooth and straight. That is the best feeling.
It actually stopped to save energy. It auto pauses after three seconds of inactivity. Once you move it again, it will restart. Such a great feature.
I've been waiting for you to review this. I was hoping you would hate it but now I think I need it 😢🤑🤑
Hahaha! I even wanted to hate it because it's so expensive but I LOVE IT! 😍
@@JulissaGuillen I went on the website and ordered it as soon as I finished watching your video! When my husband asks me why, I'm blaming you just so you know 🤣🤣
I’m looking forward to a comparison between this dyson airstrait and GHD duet styler. Please 🥺
Thanks for your review. Does it work for you on the lowest heat setting? I prefer to use as little heat as possible but am not sure if the lowest heat setting will do the trick.
Couldn't wait for this review! Tnx, Julissa!
PS: how long did it take you to blow out all your hair?
I got you! 🥰
Thanks for the video. I would love to see a comparison between the GHD duet styler , the brand new Revlon air straight and the Dyson airstrait
Coming very soon!! 😀❤️
You should do a comparison with the GHD duet 2-in-1 straightener
Coming very soon!! 🥰
Thanks Julissa , as usual i went and got one after watching you. The only thing I’m finding is the ends of my hair look like straw. How do I prevent that?
I love my super sonic but this is perfect for those days I don’t want to hold a brush on one hand and the dryer in another…… Julissa!!! Why you loved it?? Because now I want it and need it in my life 😅
Same lol
I have the airwrap and it was exhausting! Never again
I bought it and its unbelievable!
Julissa, could you do a comparison on the Dyson and the GHD duet style? Please!😊
YES
It would be interesting to see your comparisons of this Dyson Airstrait and the GHD Duet Style 2-in-1 Hot Air Styler, the Drybar Straight Shot, and the Revlon One-Step Air Straight.
Yes pls do this
Also add the Amika Double Agent dryer (paddle dryer).
if you want my 2 cents i’ve used both the dyson airwrap and the revlon, the revlon is great for baddies on a budget but i will say the heat control is pretty bad. even on low heat the ceramic wand gets really hot and after a while my hair was sooooo dead. So if you style your hair every once in a while i would say it’s a great option but if you do it 1-2x a week like i do, over time it’s going to absolutely murder the integrity and health of your hair. After switching to dyson tools my hair has so much more shine, more softness, and a lot less frizz!
@@Hamster-jello Thank you! The Revlon blow dry brush gets very hot, so does the hot air curling iron style (didn't like that one myself, could never get a good curl, they just wouldn't form for me with it)-so it's not surprising the Revlon Air Straight (hot air blow drying flat iron style) gets hot too.
I'm using (from the Blowout Professor's recommendation, I don't think Julissa liked it as well for her curlier hair type) the Amika paddle brush dryer with heat the Double Agent one.
It does a good job (but my hair is fine but coarse, frizzy and wavy) but it gets really, really hot. Like a flat iron hot, where if you get too close to your scalp you know it pretty quickly and feel almost burned.
I'm hoping to eventually try the Dyson Airstraight.
@@miagrace802 I had the Amika Double Agent. I didn’t like it because it pulled my hair. Revlon is the innovator with the blow dryer brush but it’s way too hot. Yes the Dyson Airstrait is expensive. To me it takes the place of a blow dryer and a flat iron. In my opinion if you want your hair straight with minimal damage this is the way to go. One complaint that people are saying is Dyson doesn’t give you a case. They want $130.00 for it!! I’ll pass on that.
Thanks so much! Is it powerful enough like an ordinary Dyson dryer? In case there are only 5 mins to dry hair, not separating it in sections? Thinking of buying an ordinary Dyson dryer, but if this one has the same power, I'd definitely buy it.
I wish I didn't love your review - I want it ❤❤
Great video … need a wear test xx
You’re wanting me to buy it so bad. 😩 Can you give us an update on how long it lasted before your hair went frizzy?
Now kind of wishing I hadn't gotten the new Airwrap for Christmas. I still use the old one anyway so it was somewhat of a waste. If I'd known this was coming, I'd have waited. Now I'm like "Hmm...how am I gonna convince my (typical male) fiance that my daughter and I NEED this tool also (in addition to the two Airwraps, the Supersonic, and the Corrale, plus about 50 other tools, which he knows we have)???" 🤔
...."But Honey, this is perfect for travel because instead of having to take the Corrale and the Airwrap + attachments, we'll only have to take this. It will cut down on space big time." 😂😊
Thx for that Julissa. Ive got wavy collar length layered hair (also prone to frizz). Just wondering though if the Air Strait is only suitable for longer hair. From what I'm seeing in your video the plates are broad and therefore (in my mind) for my layers I'd need a narrower plate width. What do you think? Does the Air Strait come in a narrower plate size?
Can’t wait for Shark to come out with their version of this
Id like to see the Revlon comparison since I definitely dont want to spend $500!!!
I am a person who is into hair care. I bought this because I want an easy hair care routine with minimal damage. I was able to style my chin length hair with no issues. Others I tried that were similar the plates were too big. This styler is strictly for straight styles. Since getting this I am selling two quality blow dryers ( I still have the flex style) and the GHD glide which is a nice tool but too hot for my hair . The results of the Airstrait on your hair looks great. Although it is expensive it is worth it to have great results without damaging your hair.
Can you also create a beachy wave with this?
@@commonsesnse I don’t think so. It is for smooth straight styles
Thank you for the feedback.
@@commonsesnse Your welcome!!!
This is basically just the newer dyson airwrap’s straightening brush reinvented into a flat iron. Just clever marketing from dyson but you get less attachments with this tool
I appreciate your review! Tell me...The airwrap was a bust for my hair type.. My hair reverts almost immediately. If you don't lock it your style with an iron following this...how does it do in the humidity?
It took me a long time to do my hair with the Dyson airstait, (3 c coarse hair). It did NOT leave it as I get it with the flat iron. So I had to retouch with the flat iron. I’ll try it again. I would say it’s definitely better than blow drying tools but not perfect. You still have to retouch either the ends (because they come out really straight and you can’t bend) or to straighten the hair. Its best fir wavy or thin curly hair. How long did it take you?
i want the comparison for dyson vs ghd vs revlon need that
I would love to have this but unfortunately not coming to Australia until 2024! 😢
You can take the gold bits off it and then I think you should be able to do it the other way around on the roots. I’m not sure though so try it x
I like how honest you are in reviewing ❤️
Can you make a review about babyliss pro...
Julissa, did you know you can take the gold sides off of the Airstrait for more root focus?
The best one is steampod l'oreal forever👍👍👍but dyson airwrap is not bad!
Omg that is pretty cool
Que productos utilizaste en el cabello antes de utilizar el air straight?
Oh nooo I want one 😩
This is basically just the newer dyson airwrap’s straightening brush reinvented into a flat iron. Just clever marketing from dyson. I can get the same results with that. And the tool also switches off if you’ve been using it for too long to prevent overheating.
Curious if the style
holds up in humidity as well as a normal a straightener would or if it frizzes more like other blow dry styles? This may be perfect for us who have to smooth out curly or wavy hair before using a curling iron right? Or no?
Really curious if it holds up or gets curly/wavy quicker than a regular straightener!
Just got mine, I have curly frizzy hair, it made my hair straight, but I agree with you that it's a first step. I live in South Florida so it's humid and really hot right now. I used the Corrale after to bend the ends and get some height and jazz my hair up a bit. It came out gorgeous! My hair did not frizz out in the heat! I'm on day 2 and my hair looks amazing! Yay, thanks for the review, would love to see you style after using it.
I live in Florida also with the same hair type as you and my hair didn’t frizz with the Airstrait like it usually does in humid weather. It is a game changer!!!
I live in Florida, too. The humidity is such a buzz kill 😩 for hair. I have been getting Brazilian blowouts, but it' $$$. I did order this, hoping it would keep my hair from the ridiculous frizz. (haven't received yet) I also have the Sharks version of the dyson air wrap, which is cool for those beachy waves.
Awesome!
amazing! thanks for the insight.
@@commonsesnse What is good about this there is a dry mode to touch up your hair. I also was trying Living Proof humidity spray. It helps set the style in humid weather. The only draw back is it is overpowering when you spray it.
I wished that Dyson would fix their Corrale hair straightener issues. The problem is that it doesn’t stay hot even when it’s plugged in, it also has to preheat for like an hour if you want to use it unplugged. What the heck! Having said that it does leave ur hair soft shiny and silky. I returned it until they fix the problems
I think that it has a pause feature- where if you don't use it in a certain period of time, it will cut off.
Hi Julissa. Can this be used on dry hair like a normal flat iron but without the heat?
Is at sleek and does it last as long as when you blow dry with a Dyson Supersonic and your fav round brush, Julissa?
hello dear ❤ In your opinion is the best dyson air straight or ghd duet style ?
@julissa - how did the back come out? I always end up with a little bit if waves at my crown when i blow out my hair myself
Which do you prefer Dyson AirStrait or GHD Duet and why? Will you please do a comparison? Thank you
Did your hair freeze after or the style hold?
The Dyson Airwrap is a completely different tool. Different than Air Strait and from Shark Flexstyle. The Airwrap has the amazing smoothing brushes that do not pull on your hair and yet using the coanda effect, give you a smooth blowout. The Dyson round bristle brush is only meant to give you a small curl at the ends, or on your bangs or front fringe. That's why Julissa finds it too small. It is not meant to blow out your entire head of hair. That's what the Airwrap smoothing brushes do. They smooth and straighten and can add a bit of bend to the ends. The Shark flexstyle is similar to the Revlon One Step with the oval dual bristle brushes. These are way too rough on my aging hair and pull too much out. The curling barrels are the only similarity between Shark and Dyson Airwrap. Everything else about these two systems is completely different. As an older woman, I cannot wear my hair stick straight. And my roots need help with direction. That's where the Airwrap smoothing brushes do their magic. The Air Strait would not be able to help me with that. I love the Air Wrap for my somewhat wavy, thinning, 60 plus year old hair. It gives me volume and bounce with no damage. Nothing comes close.
as much as I love the airwrap the smoothing brushes just don't give enough tension to get it smooth. I only ever use them before straightening or curling with an iron
Wow! I have the same curl texture! I want this but csnt justify the price lol
Hello! How does it compare to ghd duet in performance and time to obtain straight results?
Can it capture and straighten the curly roots and small hair?
It’s basically like the GHD straightener!!
This is way better. Really. I’m a product junky and I don’t mind spending money on my hair.
How do you like it compared to the RevAir?
How does this compare to using the Dyson hairdryer?
I wonder if there is any way to get a wave on the end with this?
It turned off or had less airflow at times because it goes into “idle mode”. The manual has instructions on how to turn this off! Its auto-set to preserve power :) Hope that helps
Ahhh thank you! Any other tips for those of that skip reading instructions?
Which is better? The Airstraight or the Corralle?
@7:32 I saw an online demo via Dyson where they said the auto shuts off after 10 min. I think this is an eco friendly feature.
Can you show us what your hair looked like at the end of the day? Did it hold? Did it frizz? Please show us! Thanks for the video!
Follow me on tiktok! @julissa_guillen 😀 I’ll be posting updates on there!
Please compare with the Dyson Super sonic 🙏🙏🙏 I'm wondering wich one to buy
Such a good video idea! 💕 I’ll definitely do that! 😀
Brava!👍😘👍
Can’t with the noise for such a long time I do the entire hair
What about the roots
Can you test this with paul mitchell’s skinny serum or colorwow dream coat to see if it still gets frizzy in summer? Its supposed to help hair stay straight
I used it initially without any products ex heat protection or hair spray. Let me tell this darn thing is impressive and a game changer. This left my hair pin straight and glass like. I washed my hair on the 3rd day because my scalp was oily otherwise I’m positive it would have stayed pin straight. There’s no tension from brushing while blow drying like a regular salon blow out so there’s less damage.
I could see this being used for a lot of beginners who just want to straighten their hair.
It’s an interesting tool but for the price? Child……I’m still getting my moneys worth with the Dyson hairdryer lol
