As of December 2023, China had accumulated over 1.09 billion internet users, according to the China Internet Network Information Center (CNNIC). This number signifies a growth of 24.8 million users since December 2022, as reported in the 53rd Statistical Report on China’s Internet Development issued by the institution. The report also disclosed that approximately 77.5 percent of China’s population are internet users, an increase of 1.9 percentage points from the previous year.
How do the number of Internet users and 5G technology impact the development of AI?

China has the largest Internet users in the world so the AI models technically should be the biggest by country. Since the US AI models are based on English language, so the user base is larger if account for all English-speaking countries together.
