    In your manual,I'm told to use FBX 2012 -- Binary.But in your video,it becomes FBX 2012 Ascii.It's so confusing.

    • @cl_personal

      Also there is this video showing "2011 - Binary", It was recorded just 8 days after this one. I'm guessing its not supposed to be ASCII because he shows it that way in the video, but doesn't really mention it. czcams.com/video/_GXotwknHbA/video.html

      Go up the top left menus to modify, or create, I forget which, and look for 'fix eyeblink' in the menu, that usually fixes the problem.

    I brought in a daz character to character creator this way and the software got very choppy.

    • @lonewolfenock3527
      @lonewolfenock3527 Před 3 lety +3

      Character creator is very hardware dependant.
      And when there are too many triangles, the software becomes choppy.
      Most of the time, for me, is due to the high tri-count of HAIRS or FURS on clothing. I just remove these and try to use others.
      Too bad Daz doesn't show the polycount of each product, it would help people like us to buy wisely.

    • @lonewolfenock3527
      @lonewolfenock3527 Před 3 lety

      You can also try lowering the quality of the viewport. I personally like mine set on 'high'.
      Anything that makes the program choppy, I try not to use.

    daz hair and the polys = destroy mode :D any way to reduce them for game characters? thats rlly high counts but i tryed anything to reduce them. it will safe destroy any detail of the hairs :/ but cant put a 500k tris character inside unity xD

    • @Aussie.Owlcoholic
      @Aussie.Owlcoholic Před 3 lety +2

      You can try using the auto poly reduction tools inside CC3 (instalod) but results can vary depending how much you're reducing it.
      If it's for a main character, you can get away with a lot of polys these days. For example, Aloy's hair from Horizon Zero Dawn is around 100,000 triangles. And yes, that's just the hair. Of course 500k is a bit excessive. Try automatically reducing to say 50k to see how it goes.

      1:57 I think there is a step that he skipped. This is my method of importing.
      You have to select [Texture Profile] and chose "G8Female_TextureProfile.ini" or a different profile if importing another type.
      Then you have to select [Texture Folder] and navigate to the folder of your saved Daz character.
      In this folder you will find [yourFileName.fbm] folder. Select this folder for the [Texture Folder]
      Now select OK and all should be okay.

    The skin and texturing controls are much deeper and robust than those available in DAZ (though I'm not sold on the new teeth!). However, the mesh of the male character at the beginning is pretty awful. (He IS supposed to be human, right?!) DAZ Genesis 8 figures are very high quality and certainly more attractive than that poor guy! Additionally, there are many addons/plugins which expand things like expressions, features and body types.

    • @lonewolfenock3527
      @lonewolfenock3527 Před 3 lety

      The Daz shell is 'converted' to CC3+ shell.
      So it is not exactly the same.

      @@lonewolfenock3527 thanks, i've had issues using 3DXchange where the character animates but not the shell. do you know if this would fix that?

    • @lonewolfenock3527
      @lonewolfenock3527 Před 3 lety +1

      @@noiseworks \\ Sorry, I misunderstood your question.
      The geo-shell is actually imported as an accessory where the offset is pretty bad. so the only way I know so far is by manual adjustment.
      What I do is, for example, if I have a geo-shell on the whole body,
      1. import as usual (an accessory)
      2. go to Modify tab -> Motion Pose -> Edit Pose. And edit my character as best possible to match the geo-shell.
      3. go to Modify tab -> Attribute -> Transfer Skin Weight to default (or what matches your best shape, if yours only have hands -> gloves would be best, if foot -> shoes, etc)
      4. go to Modify tab -> Attribute -> Conform -> Enable Conforming -> Increase size (if necessary) -> Calculate Collision (a few times as needed)
      It's not straight forward, but works for me. Perhaps Reallusion can give us a more straight forward method. =D

    • @lonewolfenock3527
      @lonewolfenock3527 Před 3 lety

      Come to think of it, after step #2, I will save the Pose as "Daz geoshell pose" so I can reuse when importing future geo-shells.
