  • Reviewing Tamiya's, 1/35 scale, BMW R75 motorcycle & sidecar kit, No. 35016, released in 1972.
    This classic, early, Tamiya kit, features a nicely detailed BMW motorcycle and sidecar combination, with a variety of saddlebags, and other accessories, that can be added, or omitted, as the modeller desires. The kit also comes with parts for two walking German infantry, figures, the R75 rider, and a sidecar passenger, with several weapon options, including an MG42, Kar98k rifles, and even a Panzerfaust, the original style assembly instructions, which include a basic painting guide, and a decal sheet that includes a good selection of marking choices; number plates for 6 motorcycles (2 x Wehrmacht, 2 x Luftwaffe, & 2 x SS), helmet decals, and also divisional & tactical markings, including Afrika Korps emblems.

    Love the box art on this old kit, Pete.

      I think just about all of us who were there in the '70's built one of these. And it's still a great kit today. Cheers!

      Same here. She may be an oldie but she still holds up okay, apart from the figures which are definitely showing their heritage. Cheers!

      A fresher version would be nice, but, is probably unlikely. But, you never know. Maybe one day. Cheers mate!

    Thanks Pete, great review, I built one of these kits in the 70's but I wouldn't touch one now compared to the Italeri kit.

      @PetesKits  Před 9 měsíci

      Thanks mate. I don't have an Italeri one in my stash (at the moment), and there's no review on Scalemates, so...looks like I might have to remedy that! Cheers!

    Nice bike, I've made a few over the years,also Italari kits. I just noticed the figures all look like Emperor Palpitine!

      Never noticed that before, but true, there is a family resemblance! Cheers mate!

      Nice. I like it. With Clint Eastwood in the rider's seat.

    It’s an almost 40-year-old model with pretty good precision.

      Yes, despite the age, this BMW still holds up pretty well even against todays kits. Cheers!

      I can imagine! The 48th scale Kubelwagen is small enough, but the R75! Cheers!

      @@PetesKits hhaha yeah, Im at the point im building Tamiya kits under a magnifying glass, so this shouldn't be any different :) Thx for all you do on old kit reviews! So great to see how kits use to look, what they used to consist of, and maybe what to expect. Always a pleasure to watch your vids and learn a thing or two! :)
