- Today we learn that Ukraine launched one of its largest drone attacks on the Russian mainland since the start of the Russia/Ukraine war. Over 50+ attack drones were launched and struck 4 major Russian airbases to include Kursk, Engels, Morozovsk, and Yeysk airbases. Ukraine ultimately destroyed 4 aircraft and severely damaged all 4 Russian airbases. We also saw today that drone struck the Moldovan breakaway region of Transnistria in another suspected false flag attempt by Russia. Finally, we have learned that Iran has announced the USA should "step aside" while it launches an unprecedented attack on Israel in the coming days. Obviously being done by the less-than-smart Russian sympathizers within Transnistria. To quote Dutch "...bunch of half-ass mountain boys". They lack the gift of true Russian disinformation ops. It's about the only thing Putin's regime is even half good at. Look at that Wagner memorial. They set him up as a sainted patriot of Putin's Russia, who died proudly serving the State. Not the Nazi-loving, warcrime-committing, self-serving mercenary that eventually tried to overthrow Putin because even HE could tell how insane and incompetent Putin was. That's some quality Big Brother right there.

Hi, I am a retired Sapper, I do not know what sort of crater a small drone makes (no drones in my day) but I can say that the picture of the so called drone inpact site in Moldova looks like what you would get if you were to dig a neat hole a few feet deep, then place a small charge into the bottom of the hole, the ignition set could be an ordiary or electic det. The hole would then be filled in and tamped down. The picture shown on the video clip portrays exactly what you would get when the charge is detonated. Glory to Ukraine.
I remember seeing a post from Reporting from Ukraine saying that Russia has prepared 300 aircraft to use in their summer offensive. Looks like the Russians would be lucky to get half of that number now.
Also makes me think the comments on the F16 was part of psychological operations.

F-16s will be a help but trickling them in after 2 years limits their impact. A full wing of 72 aircraft delivered at once would make a major impact, particularly if they are accompanied by a wide assortment of top tier weapons for them.
Russian Air Bases. Almost as secure as a screen door on a submarine.

I think You answered yourself in the question alredy..
Drones have a lot smaller radar signature than aircrafts, still many of them get shoot down, however loots of drones are aimed at a specific target so most of the time 1 or more will score a hit. Russia will be able to down the F16s just like they already have downed UAF Mig 29s, Su 27s, etc. The modern battlefield and the sky above it is a very dangerous place to be !

With some of the latest Ukraine drones the size of small cesna planes able to strike deep in Russia multiple times, it really says Russian air defense systems are either knocked out, crap, or non-existent to begin with.

thats a small drone flying a round a farm, a bang, and a cut to a hole dug in the ground that 100% wasn't made by that drone, any drone, or anything that isn't a spade.

They confirmed the destruction of 6 fighter planes, but I believe the amount that were actually damaged may be slightly higher. These others may have been damaged to the point to where they'll need to be repaired to be viable. The reason i believe Ukraine may have rendered more than 6 fighter planes inoperable is because of the explosions themselves and if they made direct contact with those 6 initially destroyed planes, it's possible debris was scattered around and some of it hit the other planes in the vicinity if their was any at all.
If a number of Tupolev TU-94 Bears have been damaged, they could be out of action for the rest of the war as well. I don't think the Russians have any spare parts for those things anymore.

That hole has a larger diameter at depth than at the surface. It's usually the other way around, I think. Someone was too determined when that hole was dug.

maintenance person
with tools and repair parts it is out of service.

F-16s for last years counter-offensive - might have made a difference offensively. F-16s now - make it very hard for Russia to use its only effective weapon - the FAB500 (and bigger) glide bombs. Which brings a stalemate. And stalemate means - if Ukraine continues to receive European aid - Russian economic collapse and its defeat in late 2025. Anything the US can provide is obviously a bonus...

When I was an Army Ranger we trained guys to hotwire vehicles. You know why? When we invaded Grenada the only reason a unit of Rangers didn't get wiped out is that a farm boy hotwired a tractor and they user it for cover to move on enemy positions. One of the things I love is when people that know nothing about combat or military history open their mouths and reveal how stupid they are. The Taliban had no jets or armored vehicles, yet the US military had to leave and abandon billions of dollars in equipment and the Taliban still rule Afghanistan.

I'm curious why Russia wants the war to expand into Moldova given it would probably tie up fewer men for Ukraine to help Moldova make Transnistria disappear and relocate them to the front then are tied up keeping them pinned down.

Not a silver bullet....silver shield.
As someone who has deployed multiple times and seen IED's go off of all shapes and sizes, that "drone attack" is a small explosive placed into a pre-dug hole, covered with the same dirt, and then set off. You can see the cutout of the hole they dug, and the walls of the dugout portion that fell in from the explosion.
At 2:37 you can see a circular object that appears to be a landmine that probably covered the trigger and small explosive underneath, but the mine did not detonate and got charred and flipped over.
This was NOT a drone or missile or artillery of any kind.
As a kid who learned how to make black powder when I was about twelve, that looks like something I would have caused back then.
the air defences in transnistria are as good at spotting incoming as the air defences in russia proper
