Just shy of 17,000 on my meteor, use it daily and its a great bike. I very rarely clean it and its held up to winter brilliantly. Won't get much better motorcycles for the money

Ed Turner said 20,000 miles off the line my boy. His motto on the quality of his motorcycles. The new RE 350 should have hydraulic valve adjustment and belt drive and a kick start like the RE 500.

Great that it’s covered 10,000 miles. Am on 3,400, but due to my health don’t ride out in wet/ cold weather. It’s purely for pleasure.
Noticed you put Avon tyres on. I all ways thought, I will put on Michelin or the Avon.
I got the intermittent management light too.
Proving to be a very good engine.😊

This little bike is a cheap as chips and as tough as nails. The best buy in the motorcycling world.

9k on my meteor in just shy of two years. My management light comes on in October and usually goes out in April or May. I just think of it as my winter warning light. I'm still on my original tyres and chain, but to be fair don't ride in all weathers. I've put the touring seat on mine and I must say its the most comfortable bike I've ever owned. In fact, best bike I've ever owned, just love the combination of its price/comfort/weight/mpg.

Look after your tools and they will look after you. So my friend please take a little time to clean the Meteor, I have one and it’s still sparkling 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

Interesting what you said about the tyres after the change. I don't find the Ceat rubber inspires much confidence, it's okay but the front end feels slightly vague with little feedback. I'll certainly be putting something different on when they are worn.

I’ve changed tyres on every other bike I’ve owned and never really noticed anything different about the ride at all. This time however, it was like riding a completely different bike. Almost felt like learning to ride again. There was still plenty of tread left on the originals, perhaps they had squared off or something. The difference was amazingly noticeable.

Pretty sure if the engine management light is on it won't pass an MOT. I may be wrong on that though.

It’s due in October so we’ll see then. It goes off again when it feels like it. The cold weather makes it come on, especially up here in Scotland. Strangely enough, it sometimes comes on in the summer too.

If you put a carberater convesion the bike will run much cooler and your oil won't be cooked to death. Your engine will last much longer.
