Thanks you for your comments! I do my best to keep up with them for the first few days after a video comes out, but due to the volume of comments on all of my videos, and to the general hustle and bustle of life, I must give up the fight after a while. If you are leaving a question four or more days after a video comes out I can't guarantee I'll see it, but perhaps one of my other viewers knows the answer and can help out. Thanks in advance to those who contribute and share their knowledge. Cheers and stay safe everyone!

I bought a ‘23 recently, and now I’m hardly riding my 1200 Triumph. I love this goofy little bike, it’s perfect for running into town, and the back mountain roads.
I own the 2023! And love it! I have 2030 miles and bought it end of May!
To this day I still haven't seen a single person talk smack about the Grom.
Well I'm here to be that person. I despise the Grom and I try to talk every person out of getting one. Its more expensive but a Yamaha XT250 is superior to the Grom in so many ways and it kills me that Yamaha won't upgrade the TW200 to EFI. They would crush Honda with a Grom competitor that was is dualsport than the Grom.
The XT250 has a seat height of 31in vs the Grom 30s in. It's faster, and has legitimate off-road capabilities right out of the box. But it's $5,100 MSRP over a groms $3,300 MSRP.
Groms are fun for about 2 weeks then you see the limitations. An XT250 can be a life long motorcycle for anyone that wants solid city ripper that can hop curbs and eat pot holes for lunch and ride hidden off-road trails or climb Mountain passes.
If Yamaha upgraded the TW200 with fuel injection and a rear disk brake and really went hard into marketing to the young audience with videos of a Grom getting left in the dust off-road and in urban endruo situations they would sell like crazy.
@@IRLtrolls At 55% more expensive than the Grom, and less than half the fuel economy of the Grom...why are you comparing the two?
@@1966johnnywayne A Yamaha fan boy.
@@ronlheureux7623 I've owned four Honda bikes and three Yamaha bikes...I currently own a 2018 NC750X DCT as well as the Yammie scooter. Fuel economy and overall practicality are my considerations for a bike.
It's literally the mini bike from dumb and dumber
Still waiting on my 23' Grom to arrive. We put down a deposit for a 125 trail also. We're gonna attempt the TAT next year.
Got my 2022 Z125 Monkey last October. Only mod I did was add a rear rack with a 8L dry bag on it and it’s now my favourite utility bike for small errands around town. It’s a great 2nd bike to own and very often, it’s the first bike I pick to ride most places that are nearby if no highways are in planned routes.
This is exactly the reason for purchasing a mini-motorcycle. If you already own a car, there is no need for an expensive Ninja 400 or anything with prices that reach the statusphere. None the less, the 400 is OK if that will be the only source of transportation.
The Grom is great but the 22 liters of under seat storage on my 2022 125cc Yamaha BWS scooter combined with the comfortable seating position, flat swing through foot area and CVT transmission make my scoot the practical winner. And it is an absolute blast to ride.
Feel the same way about my Honda ADV 150.
Yeah, it’s hard to compete with a scooter on utility and practicality.
@@jamesbarbato2192 I really love the flat open footwell of my BWS, but gotta say if the ADV150 was available in Canada, I'd have gone with that one instead.
A moped is less nimble than Grom or other motorcycles..
@@ancientofdays9737 Scooter, not moped...no peddles. You might be surprised just how nimble a good scooter is. I can corner a lot quicker and sharper on my BWS (Zuma)125 than I ever could on any of my motorcycles...that said, I'm not 'Hellion' on two wheels, but the scoot is very confidence inspiring in turns.
I must say, I totally love the Grom. I would definitely buy it if I didn't already have my Rally. Super video! :)
Why can't we ALL just Ride Groms (or 125cc or less) and be on the same level, right.? (smiles)
We’ll, the Rally is better off road.
True. What if you get a FREE Grom with every Motorcycle purchase, then every Rider in Canada could all Ride together on the same level. GromNation. hee hee
Great video! Thanks for sharing and the insight as well as the ride 😎👍
Great video, really enjoyed ! Our family loves Honda mini motos, I have a Monkey, my wife a Metropolitan, and my daughter a Navi. All plenty of fun !
Either you and Brooke are smaller than I pictured you to be or the Grom handles 2 adults better than I would have expected. Pretty impressive little machine!
Ha! I’m 180lbs and Brooke is 120 but the Grom is rated for carrying 350lbs so we were just under with all our gear on.
@@DifferentSpokesTV I was referring more to your height. You guys looked pretty good rolling 2-up on that little bike!
I have a 2018 grom. The best decision I ever made. 100% satisfied
Fun, practical, easy and cheap to work on and customize.
Yep, that engine is pretty exposed and simple to work on.
Awesome video… I looked at the Grom but ended up going with a Honda ADV 150 for about the same price . Lots of storage more power and plenty of room for two… it’s a blast ride on the road and off road.
Yeah, great bike. I don’t think they sell those in Canada unfortunately. Those things are quite a bit more powerful and faster than a Grom.
I bought a 2014 Grom this spring and I don't know why I waited so long. I love it!
Another great vid...gonna go have a look at one...never have enough toys hey...keep the vreat vids coming...👍
Thanks! Appreciate it. Africa Twin Adventure Sports coming up!
So cute, love it! The only one I would like to ride. Super video. 👍
Thanks 🙏
I have the CMX1100DCT for an actual bike, but I'd like to get one of these to just goof around on.
Great video as always.
You must own one because this review is spot on ...
Love my grom. Bought it this past May and I already have close to 3,000 miles.
Honda, are you listening? We want Trail 125 in Canada!
I keep beating the same drum, I'd settle for a Super Cub in Canada. I want something small and cheap enough to say be able to say try it out to pretty much anyone.
Yes, I think that bike would do well in Canada. I think Honda is having trouble keeping up with demand.
For a contested city with good weather.this Lil bike is a blast..I ride mine in miami beach FL..I'm super happy with mine
Very interesting vid I’m quite surprised how well it comes out cheers
Thanks!
These are not interchangable if you are heavy. Be sure to download the owners manual and check the weight limit. Grom 309. Trail 265. Navi 344. Super cub 234. Monkey 229.
I want one. I ride a Triumph Tiger Sport....but I want a Grom! Love your series.
I will never stop being surprised when I see that two adults can fit onto one Grom.
It’s rated for 350lbs max but I’m sure that they’re pretty conservative with those ratings. We weigh less than that even with gear and cameras.
I gave up my shadow 750 for a Grom and enjoy it much more and makes sense when I was burning a lot of gas to only top out on average of 40 on city Street. The Grom does it just as good for pennies.
At six foot four my DRZ supermoto is my Grom.
Probably a better choice :)
My wife started out on an 81 Honda CM450C... It came with all the features she needed... Low power, approachable seat height, and a pre-dented tank. She outgrew it in a year and now rides a 2022 Vulcan 650S. I think older bikes are best for new riders, learning how to goad an old clunker into doing what you need it to is an invaluable asset, along with not giving a rip if you drop it.
Yep. That first scratch on your brand new bike is painful.
Nice video on this niche market, I’ve been hooked on Honda since my 90 Trail in the 70’s (yes, 1970’s). I finally got tired of waiting for a tan Hunter Cub to show up from Honda USA (I don’t like red), so I just put a deposit on my new ‘23 Grom ABS. The white color wasn’t that appealing to me, but when I saw a HONDA ACCESSORIES PHANTOM CAMO GRAPHICS KIT 2022 GROM #0ST10-K26-B00 hanging on the dealer’s wall, I started grinning. It should be wrapped and ready for pickup on coming Tuesday, in time for my order from Webike Japan to arrive. On the way is a ‘Hunter Cub’ sized rear rack; KIJIMA Adventure Carrier, among other neat mods also on the way; a KITACO Skid Plate, a G-Craft Headlight Guard, and a KIJIMA Meter Guard Mounting Bracket. Fair Winds.
I used to own one. I still regret selling it to this day. For sure will get one again!
The new ones are even nicer.
I brought a Grom 2021 (Latest Gen 3) and KTM Duke 390 2021 during lock down last May in Australia.. I've put 14,000km on the Grom while I only put 1000km on the Duke 390.. The Grom's WAY more fun to ride compared to bigger bikes.
Just picked up the Red 2023 Honda Grom Black Friday sale. It was the only one they received from Honda. In Washington State it is the wrong time of year for bike sales. I took it anyway. All summer and early fall, None were available with in 300 miles.
i guess it really depends on your local roads; of course it is not a highway bike but some local roads do get up to 55mph in the states which is where the grom has trouble as top speed upright is 57-60; i have the 22 grom and have intake exhaust ecu and windshield upgrades and +1 psi; this allows it to hit 65 and top at 70 upright; i think these are essential if u r in the states or have faster local roads! really brings the bike to life with sacrifacing for me about 20 mpg
I predict am going LOVE this video!! (thumbs-up)
Thanks Angel.
P, you are so good at this style of video with your voice-over format. Do you want to take a chance and try something different once or twice.? Maybe you do not want to step down from your successful videos, but I get the feeling even if you did a video in a different or format, it would still be good.
I´d get one, in a heartbeat if I had even the smallest use for it. It is a great looking little bike and more kudos to Honda for always being the trendsetter in this industry.
We got a lot attention with that little bike.
@@DifferentSpokesTV not surprised, there are propably many dreaming about one in younger generations. And looking online for reviews. :)
Picked a Trail 125, but a Grom is an attractive package.
I ride a Yamaha Crux here in Guatemala. Its just right for rough City driving (coblestone). I haven't seen any Groms down here (but loads of Navis).
The sales make perfect sense:
Honda itself is in the budget but quality field with most if not all of its divisions,
starting to ride one wants something cheap and durable, something you can fall off or park in a ditch that will be easy to dust off and hop back on,
Honda has huge network of services and dealerships so even if the accident is something that will leave the bike immobile you get good odds on having it be fixable nearby,
and lightweight bikes are always fun to throw around (practically a 2 wheel go cart).
I may not be biggest fan of the brand but i vastly respect its chops and apparent determination to provide low cost and entry tier vehicles (unlike certain OTHER brands that once came from the working man's ethos RIGHT Harley?).
Yep. I have to say, the Africa Twin Adventure Sports I’m testing now is crazy good at everything except single track. But it can do even that.
the mpg is its best part. for all other reasons you should go for a 250. these minis can teach bad habits to new riders since their handling manners are unique to the minis
I got my grom a month ago and I already have 3000 k on it and I love it.
Easy bike to like.
My 2005 Metropolitan has 72,283 U.S. miles
I bought a Buell blast similar to the Grom in size and power I rode it once from the seller's house to my house approximately 20 miles I never rode it again super uncomfortable on the highway with big trucks and semis felt like I was riding a mini bike I was crouched down low with my knees and very uncomfortable I took a $500 loss just to get rid of it
Love the Grom …I have a CB500X, and scooters / tiny bikes blow my doors off in congested city traffic…
I'd rather have a CRF300L for riding forest service roads when car camping out west. However given a 60lb carry rack, the 300lb weight limit on my trailer hitch has me thinking of a Grom with knobbies.
Waiting for the trail, for now I am happy with my ebike.
Lots of folks want the Trail in Canada. I’m doing a Himiway ebike video soon. Looks like it has impressive range.
@@DifferentSpokesTV
Himiway is an excellent e bike, but the fat tyres are too cumbersome, I wish they had the escape with normal tyres and full suspension.
I got mine for 5600 otd on financing with 1500 down, it's 116 a month for 3 years, great deal...
As an owner of cub-like bikes outside honda, the Grom feel weird to ride, and not for the lack of power (they all around the same anyway).
Personally as who wants to start riding would rather get the honda ruckus
These are cool little bikes but right now I'm not seeing any that sell for MSRP or less.. most are $500+ more. Too much for me. 🙁
I love the Grom, but it's NOWHERE NEAR the best selling motorcycle on the planet. To give you an idea, the Hero Splendor (India) was sold 262.000 times in May 2022 (yes, over 260k unit in one single month), waaaaaay more than the Grom...
Yes. The Grom is not even available in some ASEAN countries. Probably best selling in the western world.
@@megamarvs18 the hell? The Grom was DESIGNED for Thailand and ASEAN countries then people in the west imported them so Honda decided to make it official.
I’ve nearly bought a grom several times, but you can get so much more bike for the money (tho’ maybe few things as fuel efficient) …
Yes, for that money you could get a used Ninja 300.
@@DifferentSpokesTV You could get a decent 600 supersport for a while there, for the price of anew Grom - though it seems they’re perhaps having a bit of a resurgence since then; that’s in my local market, anyway (South Australia). Cheers!
I began with a 50 cc moped and learn and I did crazy things without hurting me. Now people begin with 900 cc ! But seriously a 125 cc is the best bike to begin with !
Yep, you were smart. My first motorcycle was a Suzuki Intruder 1400 - 1360cc. I was insane but got the hang of it quickly. Definitely not recommended.
Unfortunately Honda have discontinued distributing this lovely !ittle bike in France
That’s too bad. It’s a perfect A1 bike.
I liked the video and didn’t disagree with anything that you said. However,I have to admit,I just don’t “get” the mini moto scene! I’m not some kind of power junkie either! I own both a Honda CRF 300 Rally and a 1976 Honda CB 550. But mini bikes just seem too…small for me! Just my perspective! I’m glad that people like them and that they’re having fun on them, but I honestly don’t get it! Maybe I need to ride one!
Agreed. I was going to buy a Navi for the fuel economy, but went with a Yamaha BWS 125 scooter instead. Everything that the mini offers with the practicality of 22 liters of under seat storage, comfortable seating position, flat swing through foot area, and a respectable 30.9" seat height. Yeah, it's a few grand ($4300 Cdn.) more than the Navi ($2300 Cdn.), but at 55 yrs old, I don't feel silly riding the mini...and it's hella fun.
I think that their primary role is city commuting, but it doesn’t hurt if they’re fun too.
I have a 110cc Yamaha and I get 115mpg while cruising top speed (50mph) on the highway. And that's with an unserviced carburetor.
Sounds very similar to the Navi. Same displacement, top speed and mileage.
@@DifferentSpokesTV carb vibes I suppose
ABS is only on the front brake
Sounds good, it isn’t that big which suits a lot of people
Yep. It suited Brooke just fine.
👍
Thanks for the American translation. Not actually a joke lol.
Most of my audience is in the US so I’m pretty fluent.
Small bikes are fun, but Grom seems to be too small. I ride TW200 in a big city, and it is barely enough, especially when it comes to the outskirts. And it is twice more powerful that Grom.
Yes but surprisingly the Grom and Tdub have a similar top speed. Neither is capable of true highway speed.
Grom is the best.
Grom backwards is morg, talk about killer deals!
Amazing!
Should we be surprised to get such negativity from someone named…..
@@nephilymbass1 how about irony about the name? Think quick and have a laugh, it does not hurt.
The bike is great, but unfortunately here in Quebec you have no right to take the highway with a bike under 150 cc, so the groom is limited to commuting like any other scooter, even if the bike can offer way more.
Yeah, it’s pretty much a city and back roads bike. Good commuter.
I love you, your family, and the work you put into these videos and channels. I think we'd be instant friends in-person.
But seriously, I think the funniest thing I could ever see is your wife busting out of that stiff riding look, doing some kind of knack-knack wheelie and blasting off into the horizon laughing the whole way. :D But congratulations having a riding spouse.
Honda is boring to me. When are they gonna break out of the conservative vanilla and do something that rocks the internal combustion world of two wheels?
Triumph gave us a stupid 2500cc triple. Yamaha gave us a bonkers hooligan triple. Kawasaki gave us a boosted maniac. Aprilia gave us music from a V4. BMW gave us a straight-6 bagger that has enough torque to uproot trees. KTM redefined what a Vtwin can do. Ducati gave us.......valve springs. WHAT'S HONDA GONNA DO?!!! EH?!!
"WHAT'S HONDA GONNA DO?!!! EH?!!" ... sell lots and lots of bikes.
"Honda Motorcycle represented the biggest single player in the [global] market with almost 40% market share as of 2020. Yamaha ranked as the second-largest motorcycle manufacturer globally with a 12.9% market share."
@@1966johnnywayne Tobacco companies sell tons, beverage companies flow tons of alcohol, pharmaceutical companies make billions. If sales figures are your measure of success, then prostitution or abortion is quite successful.
I'd rather have Honda do something interesting, than pop out Groms like Twinkies off a conveyor belt.
Thank! Brooke say Honda gave us the Grom:) Seriously though, wait for my Africa Twin Adventure Sports DCT videos because that might be my favourite bike I’ve tested so far. Shocking how good it is on the trails.
@@DifferentSpokesTV That's one Honda that seems interesting. I just can't get excited about any other model.
7.23.22
Can't find one. Poor anticipation by Honda.
I don't care about Grom but, I tried buying Monkey couple years ago.
I thought we had a deal and justed waited for papers but, dealer was screwing around. Just mile down the road, another one sold me Kymco Spade 150. Great lil bike. Wife used a bit but, I had blast on it. Two weeks ago, after 15 minutes impulse purchase of RE Classic 350 (disaster), I posted my lil Kymco for sale. After less than two weeks, RE is still broken and lil Kymco still waiting for next happy owner. I'm thinking about maybe keeping it. Money means little these days.
Sorry to hear about your RE woes. They claim that their new bikes are more reliable but I guess your experience is different.
@@DifferentSpokesTV Look up for speedo issues. Couldn't make first fill for EVAP problem. Tried adjusting shifter. Need to remove to frame bolts to get extra 2mm clearance between shifter and peg. You should see joke of their customer support. I mean, I still think it is cool looking bike but my XT250 would run circles around it. I made couple shorts about my RE issues if you care to see.
...and the AUS government has banned it because it doesn't have rear ABS. 🤦♀
Might be best selling, but not the best mini moto. That would be the Benelli TNT125/135
Shorts?
Road rash sucks, put clothes on.
Some ppl like to live on the edge i guess.
I definitely bought a Honda Grom for all the reasons listed in the video. My girlfriend is now getting her motorcycle license 🪪
