- Riding the Stark Varg on a long woods loop. No clutch, no shifting, no heat, no noise, multiple maps from 10hp to 80hp...just throttle and brakes. The Stark Varg is very easy to ride and very easy to like!

Definitely another beautiful day in Ohio! You keep putting out great content and this is one of my favorites. That trail looks like so much fun and the conditions look prime. Thanks and keep up the great work! I always look forward to your videos.
Glad you like the channel! The stealth factor is a very cool part of the electric Varg experience - especially when riding trails in the woods.
I added a left rear hand brake to go along with the foot brake...game changer!
That sounds like the prefect combination! What kind of left hand brake? A kit from Stark?
@@mxengineer1 A company out of NY MotoZ. They even have options for different master cylinders.
You have spoken highly of the KTM freeride in previous videos. How would you compare it to the Stark for this type of woods/trail riding? I may be able to get the former at a reduced price but not sure if I should hold out for the Stark Varg. Thanks for the video!
The KTM Freeride EXC and Stark Varg are very different bikes! The Freeride is like a cross between a trials bike and woods bike in 7/8 size with shorter travel suspension and 24hp and 34 Ft-lbs torque - agile and fun and softly suspended and a great woods focused exploring bike that can go surprisingly fast even stock. Better tires and more capable suspension would really broaden the Freeride E-XC capability. The Stark Varg is a full on motocross bike fully capable of running with (or running away from) 450F motocross bikes. With the phone app you can set the power from 10hp to 80hp - and it is surprisingly easy to ride even in tight woods. I have seen Freeride E-XC's discounted to $8000 new - that is a very fun electric off road bike from an established manufacture that can be a great first electric dirt bike experience for all levels of riders. The Stark Varg is $13K~14K and crazy fast and fun - latest tech from a start up company (I bought a new Alta EXR in July and the company stopped operations in September!). Do you feel lucky? Both will be a fun experience and great electric bikes!
@@mxengineer1 wow awesome info thanks. I would hold out for the Stark but our local dealer is selling the freeride at $7500 out the door so hard not to consider that. I would use it mostly for trail riding. Is the range comparable for both? Thanks again for the detailed info!
@@milesholland6826 Real world range might not be so different but the Varg has a 6.5kwh battery and if you turn down the power it should easily go 1.5~2.5 hours of trail riding. The Freeride will go about 1.5~2.0 hours riding in Map 2. Really depends on the rider and terrain. $7500 for a Freeride - that is cheaper than an E-MTB...hard to resist that deal! You can always get a Varg later.
Sweet . To bad that they don’t have some kind of clutch, or cut out lever , so you don’t whiskey throttle. Just a little extra protection.
Yes some riders really want a clutch for whiskey throttle. I wonder if a clip on lanyard style kill switch could accomplish a similar safety net?
Do a timed lap comparison with the stark and 300 2T.
Here ya go! czcams.com/video/Agga_91S6Tk/video.html
Ya 45 hp is plenty for woods. What does the bike weigh ? And did you do any adjustments to the suspension ?
The Varg weighs about 260 lbs and the KYB suspension has a moto setting so I open up the clickers a lot (usually running about 14~16 C/R) and it really does make the Varg much more rideable in the woods. Maybe soon Stark will offer the Varg with an off road suspension setting.
nobody asks this but has your electric bill risen significantly charging that bike?
The Varg has a 6.5Kwh battery and if electricity is about $0.15 (15 cents) per kwh that is about a $1 dollar to charge fully.
@@mxengineer1 wow......thats cheap
