Only the French would make a 3 round Burst Gun with a magazine size that doesn’t divide evenly into 3.
It's not just a 3 round burst rifle. That's just from Call of Duty. It literally says in the video that the FAMAS "is capable of single shot, three round burst, and full auto"
@@gdawgs101 yeah I know. It literally said that in the video dummy
Anyway, no army in the world use its ARs in burst or full auto mode. Like every infantryman in the world uses semi-auto.
then i give you the swiss SIG550 with a 20 round magazine and also burst option
but what you said is true: you never use that mode. it's either semiauto all around and sometimes full auto in CQB
the 20 round mag might be small but the gun is hella accurate and nice to shot
@@samthegreatandwiseblount1041 Then why'd you call it a "3 round burst rifle" *dummy* when that's just one of its firing modes, not it's main firing mode? That's like calling a Camry a "1st gear car". Also I know it said that in the video, notice I fucking said that in my comment, you imbicile.
After switching extractor and ejector, you can turn the FAMAS right handed or left handed just in a couple of minutes
The Steyr AUG bullpup was the same but requires a small left handed bolt.

You just run them over. Easy.
I wish people would just say tritium sights rather than radioactive tritium sights. Tritium is always radioactive, so it's redundant.
And we sleep with the Famas on the sleep bag 😶
As an ex-french army infantryman, i can safely affirm that the army withdraw all radioactiv sights on assault rifles, we even had rifle-grenades tritium sights till they withdrew them.
@@Kimino52 whyd they withdraw them? Trijicons are great. I used to have one on my rifle at my previous unit.

It has its drawbacks and its positives. A crummy trigger and basically an inability to use while prone are the two biggies id say. Plus france just dosent have the need for an assault rifle made and produced for the soul purpose of military use. Theyre hardly a superpower.

I agree that they should phase out the FAMAS. Then, send them here as parts kits!
I like you way of thinking, I love to get my hands on a Famas since its my favorite rifle
As of today the French military has now adopted the HK416 A5/A7 reason is because the company that makes the FAMAS has shut down and went bankrupt in the 90s and the parts for the FAMAS that was needed for soldiers on the field was getting really hard to find parts needed for their rifles also the parts needed was getting way too expensive for the government to pay out of their pocket, The French military adopted the HK416 A5/A7 is because of the reliability and how easy it was to get parts and maintenance needed for the rifle this is of course for the military side, As for the American who enjoys firearms and adores the 416 like I do it’s rare and hard to find and fucking expensive, the HK civilian version of the 416 is not a true one because the civilian marked one has a cold hammer forged barrel and a beefed up barrel, the 416 has a cold hammer forged, chromed lined barrel and pencil necked barrel, also due to European imports and all we do not have the updated version of it even though we would love to but can’t due to import laws on firearms

Bullpups are mainly ambidextrous these days. Both the Famas and the AUG are.
The SA80 has bad ergonomics regardless of which hand you’re good with.
And theyre not fixed length of pull. Extra padding can be added to the butt stock to better ergonomics.
So what are the drawbacks because they’re not it.
Flying into Paris as an American and seeing a bunch of military men with famas' in the airport was terrifying
Terrifying ? How so ?
Interesting fact:
Croatian ambidextrous bullpup rifle VHS-2 F3 almost win all competition during selection. Reason for losing was political, Merkel offered to Macron payment for rifles in electric power from French nuclear power plants production surplus across border into Germany industry complex.
No.
@@oldls7t_211 It is true actually
@@mr.klodovik8144 it is not, actually.
@@oldls7t_211 Do some reasearch lol
@@mr.klodovik8144 I did and European countries often have a connected power grid, it is a daily thing to sell over produced energy to EU neighbors at a premium. But that has jack shit to do with rifles, the 416 was chosen over the VHS for 1. Being an excellent rifle which the VHS is too but here comes point 2. The VHS uses g36 magazines which is proprietary and not compatible with any famas models so it's impossible to hold onto a stockpile of famas rifles for later use in emergencies. Some famas variants already use a stanag magazine so they wouldn't have to buy new ones, other nato partners have settled for weapons that use stanag magazines and now point 3. Both the French and the Germans have a ton of military at the border and do a fuck ton of training together, the French chose the 416 because of logistics, compatibility with nato and ease of training with its most important partner, Germany. And btw Idk how it is today but 2015 France was buying more energy from Germany than Germany did from France. Do your research now, I did mine.
Best gun in mw2. Only thing I can say about it really lol
I love how so many firearms end up getting replaced by ARs of some kind. Hopefully we can get some of these as military surplus!
Only France would design a rifle with 3 round burst with a magazine capacity that isn’t divisible by 3
A smart design. When firing in burst, the 25 round magazine will have only single cartridge to fire at last. This warns the soldier that he is empty.
Most of the time we use the FAMAS in semi automatic mode, burst with an assault rifle is a waste of cartridges. For short distance, we shoot double tap: first round breaks the ballistic plate, second round passes trough the Bulletproof vest. No need burst ...
It's done that way for an exact purpose lol. Can you guess why?
Fuck someone already commented why it's like that lol damnit. Lol
@@JohnSmith-fd5un you would think that when you're excepting 3 rounds and only 1 comes out the gun malfunctioned not that you're out of ammo
Most bullpups I know of are ambidextrous so I don't know where you got that bullpups come with limitations for lefties

M4 has options since early 2000s, and those were only to special units since there were still a metric shit ton of good ol' M16s to provide for the army grunt. So if you want to compare the famas, do it with its same age cousin, not its grand son.

The left or right hand is pure slander usually bullpup weapons have the options for both hands (p90 aug famas etc)
The most important question is , will one well-placed round drop your enemy?
18 rounds per second will drop them 😄
Uh. Duh. This whole idea of not dropping enemies is insane. The number of stories I've heard about "I was there and we saw guys take rounds and not fall over." Really, did you do an autopsy? Did you cut them open and find out what was hit and what wasn't? If someone's high enough on drugs and adrenaline, you need to hit something important. And guess what, you can live for several hours with a blown out kidney and a massive hole in your stomach. 1 round through the heart sometimes won't even do it, because even without the heart pumping, you have about 25 seconds of oxygen in your brain before you lose consciousness. So if a heart shot didn't immediately send you into shock, like say someone hopped up on heroine, then you need something vital, the brain stem, a hip bone, the spine, etc. And don't be filled by a head shot, you can lose a nice chunk of the brain and still swing a weapon. Erwin Rommel was recorded needing 3 separate bullets to successfully kill himself, all three round went into his brain, but the first two didn't strike parts of the brain vital enough to kill him. If you hit someone in the brain stem, they're dead before they hit the ground. If you hit someone in the spine, they're paralyzed whether they're dead or not. If you hit the hip bone, they have lost the ability to stand, no matter what drugs they're on.
All fun and games until you have to reload while prone.
Just roll to the side and you're good, sure its not as easy but that shorter length will be well appreciated when you have to breach.
lewis smith being able to switch shoulders will be well appreciated when I need to breach
I'm gonna miss this gun ;(

Of course the French had to be different and 1: Use magazines that weren’t designed to be reused and 2: Use a different style of 5.56mm ammo than what NATO used that was incompatible with all NATO firearms and also made their guns incompatible with NATO ammo
Mais oui mon ami.
Having non reusable magazines is good for some things you know.
When in combat, if you don't pick up a magazine that you emptied, the enemy could take it and put some bullets back in it and it's not an asset for them. This is especially true in asymmetrical warfare.
2) We can produce our own 5.56 ammo type and sell it to other users of the FAMAS, which is a good thing for France's industry, France's sovereignty.
We have a saying here. “The French imitate no one, and no one imitates the French.”
