- I became a LEGOLAND Florida Annual Pass-holder. My brother came to LEGOLAND for the first time since 2011 and was SHOCKED by the LEGO STAR WARS character model he saw... I also continued moving my LEGO collection from my parents house, got new LEGO Indiana Jones sets early, found UNRELEASED LEGO parts at LEGOLAND, and setup more of my new LEGO room!

Yup, always satisfying to go to the back of a Lego store and not only see the parts organized by color but also just feel all the loose Lego inside them. And as a certified New Yorker, I can confirm that pizza tasting like toast is an atrocity. Pizza ain’t toast, pizza is pizza. Even a one dollar slice in NYC tastes delicious! You’d think it wouldn’t but it does because they put their heart into it. That’s the key to making a good pizza. But that aside, let’s be honest, the real reason to go to Legoland and the Disney Springs Lego store…is to see Chewie’s dump truck.

Legoland Florida is built on the former site of Cypress Gardens. Cypress Gardens opened all the way back in 1936 and over the years it became one of the biggest attractions in Florida, known for its water ski shows, gardens, and Southern Belles. After WDW opened in 1971, they faced stiff competition, changed hands with being purchased by a book publisher in 1985 who then sold it to Busch in 1989, and then park management bought the property.
It temporarily closed in 2003 due to tourism decline resulting from 9/11 until 2004 when Kent Buescher (who founded Wild Adventures in Valdosta) purchased it. It reopened in November 2004, with a new water park. But Kent's group filed for Chapter 11 in 2006, someone bought it, the park closed again, the water park expanded in March 2009, the new owners announced the park was closing immediately in September because they found no way to keep it running, and then finally, Merlin Entertainment bought it in January 2010, deciding to build a new Legoland but also kept the botanical garden section for its historical and beautiful value. They also re-themed the water park, and the water park section reopened in 2012.

Its always fun to see your old stuff from the past. With memories that came along with it. Like how maybe 10+ yrs ago I had a steralite drawer that had all my LEGO collection at the time in it. Of course that collection have expanded way beyond that thing but on it had just enough writing on it to make it recognizable.

I’m getting glass display cases today from ikea and I’ve been rebuilding all my old half broken (as in panels fallen off the pieces were fine) and dusty Star Wars sets (I’ve disassembled and rebuilt my half broke juggernaut 75151 and disassembled and rebuilt my av7 cannon)
