I think is bcz 4k at 60fps looks better then 720p or 1080p 120fps they need to up the quality while keeping the 120fps stable

I agree 100% with your video that the 120 FPS console update is blurry af and not working as intended but I think it has to do with their new rendering which they implemented last season. I get the benefits of 120 FPS that my aim feels more sticky but if you watch the moving dummies in the range, they get like a halo around them similar to ghosting effects on lower frame rates. So the 120 FPS works but the rendering is off. All weapons in the range have a pulsing effect as well which should not be there imo. If every surface of the new rendering is showing a "ghosting effect" the whole picture gets blurry with increasing distance. I am hoping they can easily fix that in future hotfixes or updates. Fingers crossed legends! For now I'll stick to 120 FPS on ps5 and do more testing
Yh I don’t know why my aim is better. Apex is the one fps I’m awful at no matter how much I try. Yet since switching to 120 fps I can actually 1 clip more consistently

Tf do you mean dude.. literally been waiting for 120hz on console for years now and I think it's great. So what if it's a little blurry SOMETIMES. The gameplay is literally 10x better now. And the whole "they nerfed aim assist so console is trash now" if you have ever played roller on PC, that's how aim assist is on there anyways, 0.4, so it's fair now. Really don't understand all the hate and bitching. It's always gotta be something wrong, I swear the apex community can never be happy with anything.

720p is unacceptable. Other games did it better. Don’t just accept a garbage implementation of a feature you’ve been waiting for years to come out. I don’t agree with you in the slightest. I do play on pc and of course the aim assist at .4 makes complete sense because of how low input delay is. That’s not the case for console and if you switch back and forth you would know that. Again, just because they are finally putting out a feature they should have years ago I am not going to be happy with it because it isn’t even good. Can’t argue with the facts. If they had 3 years to work on this why is it so bad?

They probably need to add a sharpness filter. You can scale low res to high res really well now, but if you don't get the sharpening filter right it looks very blurry. You might even have sharpen settings on your monitor though it won't work as well as in-pc software, I'd assume.
Staying on 120 🤷🏽♂️ I win way more close up fights, the smoothness and less input delay feels so much better, if anything my aim and recoil control has gotten way better on 120 with the AA nerf. Imo it’s worth the terrible graphics sacrifice, I just can’t go back to choppy 60 fps after playing other games with 120 support😪

Also on top of it being subpar many of the PC guys are saying it looks like a downscaled 1080p with the PS5 version not able to stay at 120hz consistently compared to the series X
Respect watching your review on enabling performance, but I think it also coincides with your monitor that your using, for example the BenQ Zowie XL2546K Monitor or ASUS XG27AQ Monitor both that I own, I’ve notice a significant improvement visually in distant viewing.
Sounds like they're doing something similar to AMD FSR but in a poorly implemented way. Basically lowering the resolution then upscaling so the visual loss is minimal while frames skyrocket. But again, it's done poorly.
I personally prefer the 120 fps. Once you get used to it you don’t ever want to deal with the input delay on 60 fps ever again. I play on a 4k 43” tv though, so my picture quality probably isn’t as horrendous as most people

Low your fov to 100, it helped me out a lot, plus the smoothness feels so good
When i first turned it on i was shocked, i play on a 1440p monitor upscaled to 4k so the graphics are beautiful, after turning on 120fps it definitely went what seems lower than 1080 and the distance you can see is ass so i kept it off, but after a few days i turned it on just to try it for a session and idk if it’s placebo but i played a lot better, i went from 2-4 kills a game to 3-7 kills a game so i’ve stayed on it for the past two days. while yes the render distance is terrible, when you have a long range optic it is clear on the other end of it, so as long as your not using a 1x scope to snipe someone it’s okay tbh. respawn can definitely to better tho i agree, on my 1660 super graphics card on pc i can pull 144 constantly at low graphic settings but i can see the same distances as the higher settings so i know it’s possible. while they shouldve delivered 120 a long time ago im no developer so i don’t know how hard it is, so it’s a step in the right direction.
My monitor maxes out 144 and I hit 123 frames sometimes. The blur can smoothed out in a future update hopefully. I’m just happy with the update my aim feels better recoil management feels easier to control now too

I Have Changed from a 60fps display to a 120fps...maybe thats why?
Not sure whats happening on PS5 and Series S but i run 1440p monitor on Series X and honestly 120fps is amazing. Feels smooth, no lag, still sniping people from way out clear as anything! People may need to check their monitors or TVs and the HDMI you are using as it may not be delivering whats required. Or its just too much to run on those systems i dunno 🤷

It’s not normal, any huge br has great optimization other than EA.
You prioritize resolution over EVERYTHING as its what allows you to see the enemy, you dont have pros lowering their res to 720p, they just turn off textures/AA/SSAO/etc

I'm just glad i have 4k tv that's supports 60fps on my ps5 and now I'm hearing people having problems with 120hz on console. respawn should just leave it as the way it for 60 fps for console players and that's it

I noticed it get blurry my first fight in 120fps, turned it off right after that one game. I had high hopes for it!
Holy HELL I didn't realise that they reduced the AA from 0.6 to 0.4 when on 120! I thought something strange was happening but I just assumed that was getting used to the new reduced input lag and frames, I never realised they actively reduced the AA. I looked back at my clips from before I switched from 60 to 120, and at 60, I was BEAMING, at 120, I noticed to probably miss 1/3 of my shots which makes a huge difference. I'm going to be switching back I think, as you said, its not worth the L in AA. I was going MAD wondering how I had gotten so much worse at aiming.

Took them how long to get cross progression semi normal? So I didn’t expect them to get 120fps with high quality right anyhow. They might try to slightly fix it but probably not to many cheaters on pc for me rn so pc is completely off the table until they figure it out
Never gonna happen btw. Legit every other ranked game in d1/masters there just randomly a cheater. If you never experienced a cheater on PC chances are your gold/plat not trying to me an ass just how it is rn
@@anthonywinz1107 cheaters arent related to any ranks. Its more like a region problem. Servers like singapore, hong kong etc are full of cheaters while EU servers are quite tame

The difference between 720p games during the PS3/360 days and even on the Switch now is that the textures are designed to fit that resolution.
But when you’re running a game where the intended resolution is a consistent 1080p to 1440p, like Apex, the result is grainy and muddy.
If Respawn wants to fix this then they need to either completely overhaul the textures to fit this scale or rely on a dynamic 1440p resolution for the Series X and PS5 and a native 1080p resolution for the Series S (Even if this sacrifices the framerate, the UI and players will be clear enough for the player)
i do agree with parts of what your saying, although i do feel like they did a better job with 120 fps then other games on console like fortnite, where basically there is almost no visual or sense difference.

At first I hates it and decided to stay on the hard stuck 60fps for the aim assist because it was a noticable difference but then changed a couple settings in my ALCs and I'm beaming now with the 120 fps your right tho they definitely could have done a better job with it, so many games have done 120 fps and it's clear through out the whole screen there's no reason they couldn't of if they wanted to especially with the money they make

I don't think this specifically is an issue on the devs' side as it is with the tech the game is built on. You can't expect to get the best out of an engine originally from 2004 lol

It’s not surprising. I play on PC and have played on the old One X, One S, Series X and S, and the graphics were never great on any of them. It was hard to go from playing on a 2080 Super back to the old Xbox. Apex isn’t necessarily a hard game to run for a PC but it is for the consoles. I was never impressed with the console graphics and performance, even on the Series X. There are different reasons for it struggling but pushing high frame rates with high graphics settings takes powerful hardware, and the consoles just aren’t it. I was going to look up a video on how it turned out and this one popped into my feed. But, for the price of the consoles, it’s really not that bad. People pay more for PCs than $500 and don’t get that type of quality performance, as undesirable as it may be.

The amount of hz determines the amount of fps you see, if you’re running a 60hz display you’ll never see anything over 60hz, siege just lets you enable 120fps but it doesn’t matter because you’re only seeing 60 because of your monitor cap

It happened to me. I had to buy a monitor with 120 Hz +. Go settings on Xbox menu and like a charm frame rate appears. Set to 120hz then go video settings on Apex and "Performance" Mode will be unlocked

Look at your hdmi input. If it’s a 2.0 that’s why. You get 120hz @ 1080p. You’re getting different results with your pc cause you may be using the dpi input, which gives you the upgraded resolution you prefer. I got a new monitor with hdmi 2.1 and it looks amazing

I tried going back to 60fps but it just feels so laggy now, my recoil and everything feels way better 120fps. And the nerf to the aim assist isn't even better I think it feels way better and my shit isn't dragging and fucking up my aim. Having to rely on the . 6 is just a bot move imo

This isn’t a full fix, but if you calibrate your Xbox and spam through next then restart your apex, it starts getting blurry around 50m instead of 20m, on series s btw

Played 12hrs and getting beamed to death...holycow its crazy. But the 120 feels so good and switching back to 60 looks like crap lol...im sure my brain will adjust back down after afew mins. But yeah i definitely feel how much i relay on aim assist. But still gonna stick to 120 and try to get better as it really does feel good abd the resolution doesnt bother me all to much tbh.

The worst part of this is the engine that the game is built on, the source engine is 20 years old as if this year i kid you not. Yes it has been heavily modified over the years by respawn but all the same to not be abke to comfortably achieve 120fps on ps5/series x is perplexing. Probably part of the issue as well is ps4/xbox one versions of the game existing. If apex was made from the ground up on source 2 engine we would have a good solid experience on current gen machines, counter strike has just moved over to source 2 and comfortably performs well on pc, granted it isn't a big sandbox like apex but still gives an idea of performance ratios.

120 ain't even bad. You can't have a shit screen and expect good results. If your not using Vsync, you can't call it trash. If your not on a response time of less than 4ms, you can't call it trash. If you don't have ai engine and internal resolution features, you can't call it trash. Easy, Done.

Looks like shit having to squint to see what’s ahead be it 1440p or 1080p, plus the stutters are way more noticeable. Poorly implemented but it’s EA/Respawn they don’t get nothing right so it feels like a waste of time, Fortnite actually takes some skill on console and is optimised well.
I feel like if you play on a 4k monitor then activate your performance mode it’s actually not bad that bad. Just a lil blurry form distance but once ads it feels quite normal to me
