RC Excavator - Cat 320 with joysticks

- Testing my old computer joysticks on the hydraulic CAT 320 RC excavator. I've hooked them up to the controller with plugs, only thing I need to do is calibrate the joysticks when pluged in.

Awesome job! I used to be an operator, and always wondered how people run these things via an RC remote. This I could do for hours!
They are usualy run by just the transmitter. People have of course tested joysticks with RC before though I have not seen any video nor real life action where the construction machinery are operated with joysticks. And yes, it's very fun with joysticks! :D

Yep. From real into rc model controlling. The bucket shaking method still got used even it just a rc . Well. Excavator operator job seems fun to me but I don't have the chance.

Are you using John Deere or caterpillar control pattern?
Which one do most people use on those?

Hmm, not sure the difference between them. But I got boom/bucket on right stick and stick/turn on left stick.
Yes, it's easy to switch, you just assign the movement in the transmitter.
Those are home made, it's old computer joysticks.

John Deere/backhoe control would reverse or switch the Left Right movement with the bucket movement.

@@giuseppemaenza9255 Good to see more enthusiasts! I actually had a plan about FPV right after I got the joysticks to work, but it was a bit too expensive. I later found out that you can get head tracking as well, think it will be really awesome :D

Jonas got it right. The movements are like the real thing. If you search for 'excavator stick movements' I guess you will find an explanation.

@@rcconstructionincanada3754 Yeah, that's half the fun, driving as realistic as possible 👍 Those are both bruder, converted them myself with Magom hydraulic in the excavator. Both models are gone, got the Liebherr 954 and Volvo ADT now😎

Please make the setup video soon. I am using a futaba T6EXP and I have the spots on top of the controller used up where you have the connections for the joy sticks at. I put a 2.4ghz conversion on a 72mhz controller. They also have this controller in a stock 2.4ghz but I didn't buy mine that way. Can you please do it to another controller but not put the connection by the antenna. Thanks. Emily Shelton.
I will try make a video very soon, maby this weekend. I dont have another controller, but it doesn't matter where you put the connection, as you will see in the video I will be making:)
