    How would the Yamaha R-N2000A Wi-Fi integrated amplifier/receiver be with the Studio 89 speakers compared to the ones you mention? When you say they lack a little sparkle that's a little worrisome to me. 25 years ago I was auditioning speakers, but never reconstituted a stereosystem at that time. The ones available to listen to in my area included B&W, Monitor Audio, Paradigm, Polk, Martin Logan, Veritas, Infinity (I know the last two are not high-end speakers) and others, but not Spendor, Harbeth, Wharfdale, Revel, KEF, or Aeral, for example. Only the Monitor Audio Gold Reference, from bookshelf up to floor standing, had the tonal quality that I liked for vocal reproduction. That was succeeded by the Gold Signature, and today it would be the Monitor Audio Gold 5G, although I don't know how they sound compared to the record reference. Recently purchased and set up the Yamaha R-N2000A with a pair of Klipsch Cornwall IV speakers, which bring out the vocal presence I was looking for, especially at moderate to higher volumes.

    Another great video, thanks! But when are we getting the Gold G6 😭…….Are you getting your hands on the Sonus Faber Sonneto G2 any time soon?

    Hello to you…Can you do the KEF Reference 1 Meta, please? Might be nice to compare to the MA Studio 89 or even the B&W 700S S3 Signature you did awhile ago. Thank you, Cheers!

      Comparing a speaker to one 3.5x it's price is rather pointless. Neither speaker is a slouch at it's price point so no giants will be slaughtered.

      @@bearclaw5115 . Not sure I would use a word like slaughter. Price is a factor but not the only deciding factor of which product one will like better. Example, ever hear about the $99 WiiM streamer? A good example of a product that way over produces for its price range. Equaling or bettering others up to $1000. I suggest you listen with your ears not just your wallet and a preconceived notion .

    I have not heard these, but I can say, I love my Sonus Faber Lumia 2's. I like them better than the KEF LS50 Metas. The 89 is quite a bit more at $2K~ so in theory, should be better.

    I wonder 🤔 if they will be better or more revealing as a whole than my now old and slightly custom jobbed monitor audio GR20 , now just a two way / and not a 2.5 way . The original bass driver from them is now used for the midrange / bass . The original phased plugged midrange driver was a bit of a weak unit , and would easily deform out of shape , and the phase plug would reflect frequencies all over the place . The bass drive unit is a much tougher stronger drive unit than the midrange driver . Any kind and type of distortions coming through a whole solid piece of magnesium alloy drivers is not a good thing , ( even with 2nd order crossovers ) , as they can cause bad metal ringing distortions . But if there are no audible distortions from a source player and amplification and source material then they sound just fine . I'll have to have a listen to a pair of ATC's two way active monitor speakers to see sound wise how mine stack up . ATC actives have an absolute advantage of no possible ringing distortions from damped and doped drive units 🤔

      @Peter-Tyson  Před 28 dny +1

      @@Smog104 I still think 50 and 90 are impressive but their consistent price rises make them less competitive now. 18 are one of my least favourite B&O speakers, you lost me there! Very pretty indeed but easily outclassed for a fraction of the current price in my opinion. - John
