Lost Boomerang Cartoon Network Block Bumpers

- What a find! I just had to reminisce before the rebrand, so here's an old memory. A whole collection of extremely rare c.2000 bumpers from the Boomerang block on Cartoon Network. Each show on this block was introduced with a long bumper showcasing trivia and vocal credits. Note that some of the backgrounds and captions on the bumpers were later used on newer bumpers during the 2000-2014 branding of the Boomerang network (bumper styles converted to the network are identified with annotations in this video). From a tape I recently obtained and uploaded on Vimeo.com.

William Hanna, Joseph Barbera, you guys created a whole bunch of great classic cartoons! We’ll never forget you guys.
Not only that, they created a dynasty of the greatest cartoons ever.
Scooby-Doo Roger?
The Old Boomerang made sense, It’s a boomerang, with a carved shaped B in the boomerang logo.
Yeah. The new one is so boring and generic.
@@suggividion2728 the new logo needs to be entertaining??? Do you watch a still image of it or something
@@DoggoYTBoomerang No. I’m just saying that it lacks creativity. The original Boomerang had a vintage theme going for it.
What does the new logo have?
It doesn’t even make sense to call it Boomerang.
@@suggividion2728 I'd done Figured It Out! The new boomerang logo makes sense. Because its because of baby boomers.
@@suggividion2728 but I still hate the new boomerang
Hanna Barbera and Joseph Barbera are forever legends not in animation but for great imagination this forever will be the best cartoons without a doubt. RIP the Hanna Brothers.
Why did you say RIP The Hanna Brothers?
William Hanna and Joseph Barbera*
William Hanna & Joseph Barbara Were very good at the classic cartoons & the Cartoons that were for our interest & entertainment.
The Hanna barbera brand is coming back it was annonced that it will return as Hanna barbera europe No joke it was annonced by WannerMedia
William Denby Hanna (July 14th, 1910 - March 22nd, 2001)
Joseph Roland Barbera (March 24th, 1911 - December 18th, 2006)
The REAL Boomerang.
They Made Bumpers For Looney Tunes
What About Tom And Jerry
And The Smurfs.
And the Jetsons
@@justinpollard2308and the Jetsons
In my opinion these are the Cartoons that should still be on Boomerang to this day, not that crap we're stuck with now. I don't know if anyone has noticed how Boomerang NEVER seems to change their lineup of programs on a monthly basis anymore like they used to. Yes, i'm talking about the channel cause I didn't start watching Boomerang til after it became its own channel. It is sad to see what is has become now, and i'm sure a lot of classic cartoon lovers like myself might agree.
Dummy Look At Latin America Boom's Coverage and uk boom's coverage THEY GOT ALL THE GOOD SHOWS!
I hate the new Boomerang, I want the old one back.
Me too.
I do.
They did a preview to the new channel years ago on the same channel. Bumpers of regular CN shows and re-runs of regular CN shows. All this should have a premonition for everyone.
My son used to watch Boomerang all the time when we went to visit our relatives in Richmond. We were cursed with no satellite policies. Boomerang was a show we could all watch together and see how great 20th century toons were and watch rare footage from old Hanna Barbera blocks and learn interesting facts. At least until they started airing stupid 21st century Cartoon Network shows. Boomerang broke their promise like all networks.
+Edryce L Rogers So typical. Never make a promise you can't keep and that means you, Boomerang. Keep all the newer shows on Cartoon Network.
It would be cool if Boomerang showed the 1960's - 1970's edition blocks and cartoons again as a regular block.
they use to do the same 1960's feel kinda thing back in the early 2000s. now it's just really bad
I like this version of Boomerang, back when it had a variety of shows!
I Love This Crap. New Boomerang Is S**t. I Want The Old Boomerang Back!
Now, just want to get the crap out of the Tom and Jerry Show and New Looney Tunes, both of the drawings are crap, missed 2006/2007 when passing Woody Woodpecker, Wacky Races, etc
I WANT THE NOSTALGIC BOOMERANG IN MY HOUSE! I don't have the channel anymore, so...if their was a channel that brings me memories would be this: OH THE NOSTALGIC MEMORIES! 😢😪😖
If turner broadcasting bring all the retro stuff back, the ratings are gonna slide again. The old boomerang went a freefall.
@@TajmirTheRandomFan well it happened in November 2020 as part of boomerang famliy feast where they aired old cartoons from hanna Barbara that boomerang use to air
I've heard in some countries Felix the Cat aired on Boomerang? Is this true?
At 05:00 It’s Frankenstein Jr. and the Impossibles.
I love this. New boomerang is crap. I love the old announcer instead of the 5 year old.
These were rare for me to find, since I was born on July 6th 2001
The Information bumpers on Boomerang that aired once a year showing classic cartoons from the 1950s to the 1980s.
These backgrounds, quotes, voice cast, and facts demonstrate how those cartoons were famous and popular to children.
Aired: 2000s
Art elements: These bumpers used digital ink and paint, computer animation for the Boomerang logo and decade numbers, archives from classic cartoons, and camera movements.
I grew up with boomerang and it sucks to see that the channel went from the place to see the classics to the place where new shitty shows air the only good things on boomerang are tom and jerry and loony tunes
That is the chase music from Hanna Barbera cartoons.
It said that Hal Smith voice Peter Potamus, when it was really Daws Butler.
Richard Smith Daws Butler voiced voiced everyone lol
It’s cool to learn about the shows in these bumpers
This is gold. I can’t believe they put only on Tom and Jerry, Looney Tunes, and Scooby Doo 24/7! And also they need to bring back the classics from the 1960’s, 1970’s, 1980’s and 1990’s.
13:05 I still see The Flintstones on TV
I seem to watch Boomerang
Tbh I didn't know boomerang was a block on cartoon network until December 2016 and I wondered why these bumpers weren't seen on the main channel. Now I know why
4:56 Dino Boy Johnny Carson (not the talk show host)
Who remembers when Cartoon Network had that big drought and boomerang was reruning all the good classic cartoons lol 😂
Yeah! 24:47 Wheelie and the Chopper Bunch 🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳🥳
Boomerang need to put these classics back on for saturday morning.
Yeah!
Anyone else agree?
0:05 - When the police come after you
Used to watch this channel all the time in the 2000s!
Boomerang just put the Jetsons & Dexter's Lab back on. I certainly hope this is a sign of more things to come. About a year or so ago Boomerang stop airing just about every vintage cartoons leaving nothing but that new garbage for the 12 & under set. I thought the original concept for "Boomerang" was to revisit the gone by era of cartoons for us 40 & over???? Why can't they play all that new crap on the TWO Cartoon Network channels & leave Boomerang as it was. I miss Yogi & huckleberry hound & the Banana Splits etc. Don't know what the heck they're doing but I don't think they're listing to the public.
i know i used to love the old boomerang like in 2014, the old shows bring back memories like when i was 7 watching huncleberry or whatever his name was but now they're giving the shitty unwanted cartoons from cartoon network, honestly the new boomerang is crappy now, i hope they go back to normal
Lol Jetsons are gone now
I came back 20 years later to watch this
I knew that #adultswim had THEIR own version of Space Ghost called SGC2C (Space Ghost: Coast to Coast). Did you know that?
Adult swim *also* had their own version of Birdman And The Galaxy Trio called HBAAL (Harvey Birdman: Attorney at law)
Had no idea Ruff and Ready had that many episodes, they even got huckleberry hound beat! Many of the episodes must be lost, I remember watching Ruff and Ready on Boomerang but only a hand full of episodes would show and many would be repeated.
I believe the number is right, but i believe all arcs were 13 4-minute segments. I remember when it aired in the late night sunday block on Cartoon Network the first week would be segments 1-6. Next week would then show 8-13. I don't think that block ever aired a segment 7.
It might also be the case CN never got masters of every single episode.
Rest In Peace, Boomerang 2000-2015
: (
3:06 that is some of what the peter potamus toy boomerang bumpers will probably look like if they are found
Mr nostalgia we need you

Why would 64 people give these great classic cartoons a 👎?
Old boomerang
2:06 did yogi bear say the f word
MessiTheGreat 29 no he said shunken stumch
"I've gotta get some food in my shrunken stomach!" Says Yogi Bear :)
I've watched boomerang my whole life and the first show I watched was captain planet. my favorite shows on boomerang were yogi bear, Scooby-doo, dick dastardly and muttley, tom and jerry, flintstones, jetsons, josie and the pussycats, and most of all top cat. how did television ever evolve into such a monstrosity?
In this specific case, executives that cared more about money they could make from animation rather than about animation as a medium to be celebrated.
Where's The Jetsons?
Yeah and where's Atom Ant, Secret Squirrel, Tom and Jerry, Cattanooga Cats, Scooby Doo! Where Are You?, Clue Club, Superfriends, Josie and the Pussycats in Outer Space, Roman Holidays, The Chan Clan, Sealab 2020, Magilla Gorilla, Quickdraw McGraw, and Porky Pig bumpers with trivia and vocal credits too.
***** I don't know it's not on the promo.
dont forget Lonney Tunes
Armida Gomez That doesn't belong on Lost Boomerang Bumpers.
+durece100 yes it does it came in the 1930s
What Boomerang Characters Dies?
Don’t tell me you had trouble finding the Quick Draw McGraw Show.

Wow..... most of the Hanna Barbera cartoons all began and ended in September was September a thing or a curse for those Hanna Barbera cartoons?

So when the last time these bumpers were used?.
1992-2002
Here’s another one… There's “Boomerang from Cartoon Network” and then there’s just “Boomerang”…
great stuff you got here!
I FOUND THESE ON BOOMERANG!! REALLY!!
Reject modernity. Embrace tradition.
Mudsy and snagglepuss have the same voice actor
Well Heavens to Murgatroyd
I found out boomerang was a thing in 2015 not 2000 so I'm stuck with this crap
Does anyone know the song used in these bumpers?
That’s what I’m look for
The Ruff and Ready Show is
very similar to that of Tom and Jerry.
Well Rough and Ready are nice so are you talking about the Tom and Jerry Show from 1975
1:17 😶
The Ruff and Reddy Show Wasn't The First Hanna-Barbera Cartoon
Tom and Jerry Was Back In The 1940s
Tom and Jerry was actually created by MGM Studios. Hannah Barbera just directed the cartoons. The Ruff and Reddy show was indeed Hannah Barbera's first cartoon in their own Studios HB Enterprise.
crazy cartoons
Wait oh no… Anyways did they really use comic sans? (Not bc I hate it but bc I thought no one would sue it)
Scooby-Doo Roger?
Cartoon Network bring back the best version of Boomerang
What about the Jetsons?
1:22 look inside the box is that supposed to be a black face joke?
The Ruff and Scooby Shpw
0:01
who was the spokesperson for boomerang?
John O'Hurley
Don't listen to Wikipedia. The real announcer is Jeff Bergman.
I think you're right because of you here in the when bears attack short the narrator is voiced by him
And in top cat in episode 17 season 1
I love Tom and jerry
Same
This is right before when Cartoon network's sucked as balls and boomerang

It’s strange we used to have a cable (Directly) tv to watch tv but now we don’t at least not for a while so we have cable until my brother gets a job (I think) and to be honest (tbh) I’m a little nervous about getting a smart tv (although I’m still a little upset that my mom brings up a smart mouth WHICH I DON’T HAVE I HATE THOSE WORDS “Smart mouth” What’s that even mean? Who cares I still don’t like those words it’s almost as worse as “keep your teeth to yourself” crap in 2nd grade anyway our cable used to work but idk what wrong with it and like I said I don’t have a cable right now but we probably get one again (I think)
what are you even talking about man
I was talking to myself btw and I don’t have cable right now but I will get cable again probably I know sure yet
Anybody know a show that had a red ant and a blue creature that would eat the ant then the ant would run off and say "sayonara"?

Tigger was on the Banana Splits!?!
No. Lol. I know it's a joke and I love jokes myself. Paul Winchell who was the voice for Tigger at the time was the voice of fleegle.
@@marcustrice3246 Brain DRain!
Don't waste your time!
ironic how boomerang was meant to show all of cartoonnerwork's old shows and classics... but now it's slowly turning into what cartoonnetwork Is now

This is awesome!!!! I can't believe I've never seen these bumpers before. I love it when they give you little trivia facts about the various cartoons you are watching, like before I didn't know that Jay North who voiced Bamm Bamm in the Pebbles and Bamm Bamm was Dennis the Menace!
