I had fun at @NomadicGaijin live stream at Tokyo Akabane and decided to film my own rainy ASMR walk in between.
I started from Akabane station, walked through restaurant street on the eastern side of the train line then went on through the western side, looked around residential area, visited Akabane Hachiman shrine and returned to the eastern side. In the end I walked to Arakawa River. Finished at the river without any dry place around to replace depleted camera battery.
Does it have Blade Runner vibes?
One poor kitty was found 😿.

This is absolutely 100% what comes to mind every time I think about my personal concept of "homesick for a place you've never been." This peaceful atmosphere is genuinely cathartic and the closeness of everything gives me a diorama-like sense of coziness.
Nothing is better to watch than a rainy Japanese night walk!
Agree!
It's 23 degrees tho'
I wonder why the suicide rate is the highest on the globe there?
@@riadbenkabba8441 the day before I got it from now I didn't see 🙈🙈🙈🙈🙈🙈
Really makes me wistful for all the late night walks and bike rides I'd take in rural Japan.
Japan looks so surreal on a rainy night it’s like a Video game and I love it!
Me too its magic!!!!🙋♂️🙋♂️❤❤❤🇮🇹🇮🇹🇮🇹
because the art comes from real life
@@RelaxingGameShow i dont know i think they made the streets like that after a movie
RTX enabled too.
Many video games go for these kind of overly detailed but cramped designs like this because it has lower draw distance so doesnt overload the hardware and lag.😂
That’s what I love the most about Japan. I loved walking in the rain on a warm summer night. Those cluttered streets full of sounds and smells. And then finding a cozy tiny restaurant and enjoying the food and the company of my partner while the rain is coming down. That’s just pure happiness for me.
Walking in the Kingdom dude! 🫠
is it really as safe as people say? at night mostly
Sounds lovely.
@@btf1287 yes in mosy Asian countries in the east, it's very safe to that.
Sounds idyllic.😊
7:11 - "It's funny how everyone here has the same umbrella, too." Made me laugh. This footage is so valuable and beautiful.
Its a disposable umbrella
7:12 "It's funny how everyone has the same umbrella" I was thinking the same thing but was not expecting anyone to say it lol
the thing that surprises me the most is that you can just go take a walk in the middle of the night and feel completely safe, here in my country Argentina you couldn't make a single block without getting robbed or worse. What a difference to live in a first world country.
This video made me feel so cozy, the streets are so relaxing, even the crowded ones, I don’t know how to explain it.
Same here. The atmosphere is undescribable. I'd give almost anything to experience that again.
no cars, thats it
Am I crazy or I find it, in part, somehow creepy
@@buschleuchte9905 This is the answer.
The clearing away of the water from the lens is surprisingly endearing.
I absolutely love the narrow city backstreets, intricately littered with intimate shops, restaurants, and bars. It creates such a wonderful atmosphere.
... and then there's the neat, closely knit suburban housing, which has a peaceful atmosphere all of its own.
... and it's all so CLEAN... No litter or graffiti anywhere! You are very lucky to have such lovely cities in Japan, full of character. I hope to visit one day.
Yea seriously is most of Japan like that? Like very little to no litter or graffiti wtf?
i think one quality everybody notuices but no one really brings up about Japanese city streets is how cluttered they are. I mean they're impeccably clean don't get me wrong, it's just that they're full of signage, bikes, vending machines, outdoor seating areas and so on and so forth. Clutter makes a place feel lived in and therefore more welcoming.
yes i love too I absolutely love the narrow city backstreets, intricately littered with intimate shops, restaurants, and bars. It creates such a wonderful atmosphere.
Man I loved walking at night in the rain back when I was studying abroad in Japan. It was just so fun. This takes me back to those days.
The coziest place on CZcams. Thank you, Rambalac!
Thank you for saving me a 20 hour flight.

you can't replace that with being there in person
Yes I Can
@@MW-bs1nb Yes I can. Tokyo is overrated. From someone who used to go to school there ❤😊
@@curiouscat428 it's a huge difference between living there/being used to this place and travelling there for a rare experience and that rare experience is something you can't replace by watching some videos about it
if you work in a theme park every day, it won't be any special anymore too, but for visitors it is special
What is it that makes Japan so astonishingly beautiful with rain and snow? All the great artists captured this.
I like the part in 23:35 and 39:10 when you are walking alone in the rain. It feels so serene and tranquil. Would love to see more rainy park-walking videos.
I thought it was fcvking scary
Straight up a video game lol
The way how you show things without commentary is great :) Thank you for another great video!
38:08. Did you know the train would go past the moment you approached the viewpoint? The timing was perfect.
Falling rain, night time, wet streets, neon lights - together it created a magical feeling!
I hope the kitty's have their umbrella's and rain coats on ! 😸 ☔ 🌧
This is such a large contrast to American cities. Such a lack of just trash cans and litter is incredible. The pedestrian friendliness is also amazing.
i watch your videos almost every night when im feeling overwhelmed and need to wind down. you’re one of my favorite channels. thank you for the content. 🙂
City walks can be nice. But nothing beats walks alone in a peaceful and quiet environment. Especially at night. That isolated night walk was heaven. I loved it very much. I wish I was there.
I also liked how that car was trying to get out, but saw you and backed up, and you as well stopped. My god! That level of consideration and politeness for strangers is, I think unheard of over here.
Omg, i love that magic feeling when you walking aroun many small fast foods, shops with vintage look...
I Watch this every night to fall asleep
It is incredible how clean the streets are. Unimaginable in German cities. Here, people are too lazy to throw cigarettes in the ashtray by the trash can.
Thanks for the Date, Time in the description. 👍🏼
Spain is worse
Not every store has ashtrays, I throw mine on the street because there’s not a single ashtray in the city and I don’t wanna light a trash can on fire
Something really captivating about the Japanese backstreets, so full of little hole-in-the-wall restaurants and bars. feels like you could just walk around with your mates until you find some little eatery or watering hole to call "your special place".

YOU JUST SKIPED POOR KITTY!?
I would like to personally thank you for not only the great video, but also constantly cleaning the lens.
Something about the serene walking experience, the way living can occur without even getting in a car. Being able to find yourself in a bustling plaza with food and lights, and being a short walk from an empty serene park and shrine. I would love to visit one day, and just find myself walking around enjoying the sounds and scents, enjoying some good food as well with no real goal. That is peace.
Extra points for swinging on the swing-set.
im 15 years old and i love to watch this videos am i the only one? :D
That shot from the shrine down to the train track and elevated road is a classic. 👌👍 Definite Blade Runner vibes.
Do you remember where that's at? I can't find it.
@@canmufu3923 It's at 38.05.
There is so much to take in here. It is like every single frame is filled with richness and complexity, extremely enjoyable.
Amazing to see how other people live.
I lived in Akabane-nishi for 10 months in 1979-80 and went to that station every day, and went to that shopping street at least once a week. It's hard to believe how much it's changed. I think there were only two train lines at the time, the Akabane line that ran back and forth to Ikebukuro, and (I think) the Keihin-Tohoku line. What a difference!
Das sieht da sooo Wunderschön aus. Ich hab echt Tränen in den Augen bekommen. Ich möchte da so gerne mal hin. Ich Liebe Japan ♥️♥️
Rainy walks in Tokyo are always a vibe, thanks Ramba :)
Been watching Rambalac’s videos for the last couple of years and I have to say, this is definitely one of my new favorites. Great work as always!
Fascinating video. Every so often an odd-looking stork with a blue neck pops up and spits on the camera.
I love these type of rainy night videos from Japan! Thank you, Rambalac!
The hardwork of this CZcamsr for making this video ❤
That is some mighty fine camera quality
We can call this a summer rain, right?
But the most important thing is that with or without rain, day or night, Tokyo is still a beautiful place... Good job Rambalac!!!
I absolutely love the sound of rain in your videos, not sure if it’s because of the camera but no other channel picks up the sound of rain like yours, it’s like I can feel the rain in my ears! I love it thank you Rambalac 🥰💜💜
Marvelous rainy walk 🤗 💦, not only reflections in the streets full of colours, even every back street feels like magic through silver raindrops in the lights. City, shrines, parks, trains - everything looks dreamlike - like seen with fresh eyes! Loved to feel the vibes 💙, thanks for filming this !!!
Absolutely incredible image quality for night time. Thoroughly delightful walk. Thank you for sharing these moments with everyone. Greetings from Portugal! 🦊
I loved that you played in the playgrounds!
The sound of the air makes me feel comfortable✨✨✨❤️
I really loved this video. It felt like I was actually going for a walk around Akabane in the rain. Domo arigato gozaimasu for posting this up.
I always found the narrow side-streets to be the most interesting during my time in Japan. Many changes since 1960.
what are some of the biggest changes?
This video brings me back to better times. The sense of peace you get from watching this is amazing.
tks for the trip bro.
I actually watch this during first rain after a heatwave - watching the rain while smelling the rain 😀
It was raining on Thursday too. Now the heat has gone.
In general, with its presence and reputation, rain can be connected to one’s memory, mood, and behavior. It is something that affects your world ultimately when it’s happening, and when emotions of the human mind are subjected to it nothing can be predicted.
Yes, Light rain always making that feel
thanks for this video rambalac! I really enjoy it.
Thank you, Rambalac, so enjoyable as always. Walking in the night rain is my favourite .
Just incredible work as always. Makes me feel like I’m really there and is so relaxing to just watch your vids

Since I live around Akabane, I can relate to this. I appreciate you sharing this.
Walking in the city at night always feels relaxing. The sound of rain soothes my soul. Thank you for your video

Ready for some rain, to hot and dry now in the Netherlands. Thanks for sharing 🙏🏻😁👍🏻💚
Apart from the Hinohara Village walks this is, in my opinion, the most beautiful walk in your entire catalogue. Simply stunning. Thank you.
Watching this reminds me so much of growing up in NYC. The lights, the people, the traffic, and the overall energy.
Great video man, really loved watching the process how you prep for this, the effort you put into it really shows in the video. Hope you enjoyed Akabane!
Спасибо за приятную прогулку.
Vielen Dank. Ich schaue deine Videos jetzt immer wenn ich auf dem Trimmrad bin. 😊

How lucky are those who live in Tokyo and are with the Japanese people.😍🥰
I've been following you for a while now, and I will forever come back to your videos so I can fall asleep 😇 thanks
Holy crap! What a cozy STREET!
This is so relaxing and unwinding to watch late night before bedtime. Love it.
Thank you for posting these videos of your walks. It's just incredible how clean the city is. Always wanted to go to Japan and will definitely get the opportunity next year!
This raining walkings are the best for sleep.
Greetings from Brazil, Rambalac.
My hat is off to you filming at night in the rain.
Thank you for inspiring me to start my channel walking in regional Japan.
The view of the tram passing around 38 minutes from the shrine is superb.
thank you, from NYC. great walk, beautiful city. nothing s better than a good walk on a rainy night...
雨の夜に東京の街を歩くのは素晴らしい経験です! 共有してくれてありがとう!

I used to live right next to this station. This video brings me back...
Watching this makes me feel nostalgic for something I’ve never experienced. I feel happy and sad at the same time.

I accidentally found your video and it's the most beautiful thing I've seen in a long time, my biggest dream is to go to Tokyo 💙 thanks for sharing
The sound of the rain is very calming for me. Love this video! 🥰🥰🥰🥰
Excellent video. I am really happy I found your videos again. I really enjoy the walk thru Tokyo on a rainy night, as if I am walking there besides you thru the rain. It has been a hot and dry summer in this part of the world. We would love to have some of that rain. Thank you for the excellent videos.
That's probably the best video I've ever seen in your channel. I love Japan and I can't wait to see this magic country :)
Love all the colors and lights. Really beautiful when you turn into the park and everything is tinted green. Good work. 👍
I've watched a certain video with just rain sounds for the past two years. I've watched this video the past three nights falling to sleep and it's my new favorite. I love the chatter in the background with rain and whatever else. Reminds me of car rides as a kid.
Blessings friend thanks.
From CA, never dreamed of going to Tokyo so this was AMAZING. Thank you
This is so awesome! Japan looks so magical! I hope I get to go one day! Thanks for the video! 👍🏻
