      There's enough space where you can build one - builders usually offer a standard outdoor kitchen but you can get one done a lot nicer for less after closing.

      Very similar in price when you don’t consider the island, which is significantly higher than anything available in Port St Lucie. Vero Beach also has a lower property tax rate and lower HOA.

    Is it usually better to have the builder put in a pool before move in or hire a company to put in a pool after move in?

      It typically costs less when you do it after you move in. Every upgrade builders offer have markups/premiums attached for the builder to profit. If you’re okay with not being able to jump in the pool day one (and use one of your community’s pools for example), you’ll save money and have more options. But I get a lot of people who refuse to build a new home without a pool.

      They do in Vero Beach in the $800s and in Port St Lucie in the $7-800s

      @@DellMara Correct. Unless you decide on a new home under $450k and have the pool built after closing. Pools right now start at ~$70k before additions like the screen enclosure or a jacuzzi/spa (which will easily shoot the pool’s cost to over $100k).
