I performed this 9 years ago at my recital when I was 16... that was during my "prime" and it was so much fun to learn. I'm revisiting this piece again almost a decade later and luckily I can still play it. The string crossings in the third movement are so fun to play.
It does sound like a perfect performance of this masterpiece. I reckon Bach would have been proud to listen to this wonderful recording. Arthur Grumiaux is supreme! Such poetry and beauty.
I got the middle part now. Adult learner with lots of wrist problems. She will be able to do it too in some time. Is she happy with her instrument? 6 years is still so tiny. Must be frustrating to want that sound but having to play on a mosquito with a nose cold....

There is no doubt that Bach's keyboard arrangements of these three pieces date from his Collegium musicum years, when he turned the A minor violin concerto (BWV 1041 - this video) into a G minor harpsichord concerto, the E major violin concerto (BWV 1042) in a D major harpsichord concerto, and the D minor double violin concerto (BWV 1043) into a C minor concerto for two harpsichords. Julia Oh You must have very talented toes to type as you play this concerto! My son played P.D.Q. Bach's Abassoonata last year where he played bassoon and piano at the same time, but this takes the cake. Talk about counterpoint.
