Kirroughtree Mountain Bike Centre Scotland - The Highlights

I managed to squeeze a lap of Kirroughtree in on my way back from filming in Glasgow. I rode both the red and black route which totalled about 19 miles.
As mountain bike centres go, this is pretty unique. It has all the characteristics you would expect from one of the 7 Staines but with a unique feature; namely McMoab.
Imagine Moab in the USA but with a Scottish twist. This strange rock section is both challenging and fun finishing with a big drop on to the fireroad.
Like most UK trail centres, it drains very well and is easy to navigate. If you can be bothered to drive that far West, it is well worth the journey.

I can remember riding there just before it opened. I was shown around by some of the local guys involved in building the original trail. It was good then...it looks way better now! The slab...let's just say I chickened. My excuse is that I'm a flat lander. Cool vid.

Ha ha! It does look like a horrendous drop from the top. Well, huge respect to the boys and girls that built it. The effort to make 19 miles + of great trails is huge. And the fact it can be ridden all year round too makes it very appealing.

Gary Alexander thanks for the lovely comment. There was a fair amount of flow but a lot of climbing at the end when you’re on your last legs 😂
