450 is a necessary evil for those wanting to move to bigger ADVs down the line. Owned the 411 since Nov 2017. Sold the 411 last December and booked the 450. Hope that says it all.
I have seen the new one on the roads and at the showroom. The old one is still gold to me. No offence, but the new one looks like a mosquito and I can't unsee it. 😂😂
I think old himalayan is more good looking. Also the long stroke feeling was amazing at lower gears. But the engine was clunky, The weight was too much, bad stability if you are riding with one hand, and bad milage consider the power. And the engine feel is very old school. I think the new one should solve all those problems.
The old HImalayan has less tech to go possibly cause issues & leave you stranded in the middle of nowhere . You can easily fix a normal throttle cable ,with a spare or emergency throttle kit , at the side off the road . The new Himalayan is no good to man nor beast as an adventure bike . Royal Enfield has obviously lost the plot ,& allowed computer gamer nerds to run amok in their design department .
Himalayan 411 rocks... 450 is not and adventure bike. Its a tourer for straight highways. Cons of 450 : Un comfortable seat, lot of back pain. Total weight of bike is in front, very heavy to ride in ghats. As weight distribution is in front, back brakes are failure. RE screwed it up by introducing 6th gear and the total torque is shifted to 6th gear NO low end torque. Expensive to buy + maintainance (3.2 lc/ 10k per service) Weak spare parts...like coneset. We all know RE does not have durable parts. Bike feels very heavy for cities Pros : just drop the gear from 6th and dissappear on highway. Can go upto 160kmph... Don't trust breaking at this speed 😂
