Love this. Reminds me of Tim O'Brien's Things They Carried. Also solid sense of self-deprecating humor.

      Short-term memories develop skills
      Long-term memories develop discernment
You shouldn't avoid routines, you should make routines purposeful and meaning

Make your memories purposeful by understanding them.
Short-term memories develop your skills and long-term memories develop your discernment.

Memory is not the glue (BTW: You have No clue what memory consists in). I have written on patients who remember verifiable, personal content that they do not take as their memory. They no longer own their mental content. If you think this ownership is the stuff of Sci Fy, then you have not considered your own nightly dreams. If anything is the glue, it is ownership. You really have no idea what is available on the topic you address. Don't you have the personal insight and/or self-respect to refrain from publicly pontificating on things about which you have not a clue? Read the abundant research. Unbelievable.

So If you consider this as a mistake you should share with us more information or a scientist study that validates what you are saying against this talk, isn't it?
