I don't watch many Tigers games but when does the panic start that Spencer Torkelson was a blown first pick. He is only 24 but has almost 1200 MLB at bats you'd like some more encouraging numbers by now.

I think Hinch is the reason the Tigers aren’t 10 games over .500 - let’s play our best players every game and have some consistency in our batting order and we have a chance to make a run at this WC spot

Damn, second game back from the IL, Cleveland SP Gavin pitches much better with 5 scoreless innings. But an Guards infield error leads to the only run of the game and a heartbreaking loss. 🙁

The tigers rotation, now including keider montrero has largely been very good. As far as earned run average they've been pretty good, kenta maeda is the only one on the staff, who really doesn't give them any kind of a chance to win when he goes out there. Something that gonna need to change is the tigers are gonna need to get something from maeda when he pitches, and that all starts by him pitching a good game in game 2. Maeda, unlike any other starter, I'd take him out after 5 innings, no matter what the score is or how many pitches he throws. If maeda keeps pitching like this, you've got ty madden in the minors, who I'd bring up immediately, either that or slide keider montrero into mize's spot when he's healthy.

Every game in this series will be similar to this game. Very low scoring. 2-1, 3-2 type of scores. It's just the way they match up
The Guardians aren't built to win these low scoring games.
True good point. As a fan I'm a bit concerned the Guardians are about 500 over their last 20 from what I see so they are coming back to Earth a bit. Unfortunately blowing a rare excellent start by a starting pitcher these days is not good. They need an arm or two at the deadline and a solid veteran bat.
The Twins are breathing down their neck and will make it tight coming down the stretch especially if they can keep Royce Lewis and Byron Buxton healthy those are big ifs but 2 difference making bats.
The games Guardians should win they lose. Always the Central teams that give Guards the most trouble. Weird how that works
@@skater92123 As a Guardians fan I'm remaining optimistic but I think the Guards are closer to the about 500 team over the last 25 games than the almost best record in the league team awhile back. The starting pitching is awful beyond Tanner and hopefully Gavin as he rounds into form. However games when Tristan Logan or Carlos are pitching are not gimme games or hugely favored games against anyone anymore and I'm sure if we looked at the betting line it would show that. If one of those 3 guys is pitching are we really much better than Detroit or TB or Boston Texas for that particular game not by a large margin if at all. Fortunately we have built ourselves a nice lead and should make the playoffs but it will be very close with Minnesota if Lewis and Buxton remain healthy and we don't make any moves by the deadline we could lose the division
Hopefully the GM gets a couple inning eating arms and veteran bat. Our rotation down the stretch needs to be Tanner Gavin TBD TBD and Lively at the back end
@@michaelyatsco1958 I agree w this. Can’t count on hitting all the time to win. Pitching needs to step up more. Bibee the only one who normally stays consistent. Lively is starting to pitch better now as well. Those are the only 2 we can count on. Thought it was a good idea to send Allen and McKenzie down. They both need work. They love throwing down the middle. But all we can really do is hope to have games we get a bunch of hits at this point

You know how if you wash your car it's guaranteed to rain? Well if a Cleveland sports team is on national (or at least regional) TV then they are guaranteed to lose. I'm just waiting for the Cleveland baseball team (I refuse to call them by that f'ed up name) to go up in smoke because that's what they are. Smoke and mirrors. I've seen this show too many times before.

huh? Lions went to the NFC championship with Goff and he beat Stafford 2 games before. Lifetime Lions fan here but we never got anywhere with Stafford, Goff is probably the most underrated QB in the NFL rn imo. Also why are you telling the tigers? Both teams are owned by different people.
