Part of the "Ultimate AFL: Six Decades of Australian Football" DVD series released in conjunction with the Herald Sun.
Introduced by some particularly wooden acting from the Demons' James Strauss (seriously, all of the players...?!), this DVD features marks and goals from players such as Ted Whitten, Royce Hart and Ray Gabelich.
There are a multitude of old black and white clips interspersed with colour highlights from the 1969 VFL Grand Final between Richmond and Carlton.

The enthusiasm of the umpires were dwindling. They barely even raised their hands!

Personally i am a great fan of the goal umpies wearing white jackets. So cool.

This was my childhood, many players so familiar! Oh course my Hawks usually sucked in this decade, so they don't feature much :/

@MUFC Popularity may not always equate to just how good something actually is, just look at the USA.....Trump was "popular" enough to win 4 years ago but look at the mess that is his Presidency. I don't put down ANY football code as they all need incredible skills to play at the elite level. The only reason soccer first spread around the world is that it was imposed on the Third World by colonial imperialists occupiers. It then survived and thrived thanks to it not needing expensive equipment nor facilities, that is still relevant to this day. A broader range of ball skills is needed for AFL & Gaelic as they're not limited to "feet only". Also the large playing area, speed of play and non-offside of AFL means a need for greater player fitness as they can potentially need to run the entire field. I suggest that if an AFL style of football had been dominant in UK/Europe during 19th century colonisation, that's what we'd now see as the so-called WORLD GAME (your capitalisation, not mine). #1 sport in Aus by 2060? Says who? History has a habit of disproving crystal-ball gazers. In short, your post was basically pointless :/ Don't bother replying....

And the great E J Whitten ‘torps’ a goal in the wet from the HFF. Legend.
