From what I understand from listening to this since it’s release in the 90s he’s basically been accused of stabbing someone down the lane. Detectives kicked down his door, put him in the car & took him to the station.

When they showed the video, they did have the lyrics go across the bottom of the screen- and they couldn't keep up! Back in the day when I was in Secondary School in the UK, I was asked what is he singing about because lots of the students knew I liked Reggae. Only got a third of the lyrics. The edition of Smash Hits Music Magazine that had the lyrics in it sold out !! One of their most popular editions. Obvious why !!
My wife grew up in Jamaica and put me on to a young white kid from the UK that performed one year at Sunsplash in the 80’s. All the Jamaicans were fascinated with the kid back then. Lol
