- This is one never before seen chapter from our "Northeast Rails Remembered" DVD!
See a great variety of diesel power and freight cars before the graffiti era from many railroads when things were booming. The 1988-era was at the point in time when Conrail had transformed itself into a successful railroad.

Graffiti free cars is always a plus. Wish we had more trains that were free of graffiti today.
Very nice archive video; Like that CSX-BAR-SCL-Lashup
I sure miss big blue c rail
It is good to see those classic SD40's and SD45's in action. Even saw a GP30 in that video. CSX had a GP30 in service here in the Huntington yard a few years ago but I think it might have been retired. Also used to see SD40-2's along the NS route in Kenova, WV as well. Jaw Tooth has a few of them on his YT channel crossing the Ohio at Kenova. Thanks for these memories Charles.
outstanding! a lot of Conrail :)
Nice to see the rail cars without the graffiti
NYS&W EXSITS TODAY!!

Bethlehem Steel would later become a redeveloped casino and hotel.
