As far as I know, any kind of Basmati rice shouldn't be used while cooking Khichdi, any broken rice or other varieties are good. I just love Khichdi.

Ashok sir one thing i do is to chop the onion , chilly , ginger and tomato , sauté it in butter with hing ...and add it finally in it. It taste amazing ....
