    Thanks. I placed the outside box connector to the "ON" side, and I made sure the breaker in the basement is also "on" which has been "on" the whole winter. I was expecting it to turn on, but the console display is off and nothing turned on. What should I do next? I moved to this house with the hot tub there and I was told it's in good working condition. The hot tub doesn't have water in it the whole time, just a bit at the bottom of the tub.

    Mine runs for about two hours and then trips the breaker. It's only two years old. Hot tub people can't figure it out. Already replaced the breaker and still same thing.

    My Spa kept blowing fuses (SC-25 1.66") in the gecko IN.XE controller. Protected upstream with a 50 amp GFCI breaker box subpanel and a 50 amp breaker in the main panel. local spa shop came out on a service call and said it was an air lock. I thought maybe the pump since it made a Grrt sound after running a few second to hours. Had motor/pump serviced, no change.
    I would like to see you show us how to determine which one it is. It was a Columbia Spa , 2011 (their factory burned down in 2013 and never recovered) Single, 2 speed pump 5hp executive 56. Gecko controller.
    Side note: My wife wanted the tub gone so I Craig listed it and a spa refurbisher company bought it and when he came to look at it he said it was the controller and that Gecko did not make the best controllers. I still came out ahead on the deal at least. It is gone now, but I still would like to know. See lots of videos about tripping breaker, but none about controller fuses. Do controllers now use breakers instead of controller mounted fuses? Thank you for your time and educating the world.

    I just bought a 2020 Jacuzzi J-275. I just wired the sub panel with 6-3 Romex wire. The house breaker is 60amp and the sub panel is 60amp breaker. The sales rep said go 60amp so I can run both heat and jets at the same time.
    Do you have any videos of wiring from the outside sub panel and to the tub panel? I have called my brothers who are both electricians who helped me wire from house to sub panel. Thankfully I did it right and got a 240V at the sub panel. I would like to see how to wire tub with 6-3 wire.

    Hi Spa Man- I have a 2005 jacuzzi j335 that trips the gfci after the heater is on for about 3-4 minutes. It does not trip breaker immediately. I replaced the heater with a new one hoping to fix the problem, but it hadn’t fixed. With the heater unplugged it will not trip. I tested ohms on new heater and it’s at 13. When the breaker trips it is tripping the inside of the house breaker. The gfci at the hot tub is the type with two fuses and piece that pulls out and you flip over to turn off power. Do you think I may need to replace the older type gfci to a newer style, and do you think it may be malfunctioning and not able to handle heater wattage. Thanks so much for your help and advice.

    • @spaman5440
      @spaman5440  Před 3 lety +1

      Ok you have a couple things going on.. I would switch out the GFCI to a current up to date one ..I would also check your wire to make sure it is #6 THHN from the Sub to the Spa I would also check the wire from the Main to the Sub panel.. You have something going on that just doesn't feel right .. If you need to call me for help that would be cool also .. Hope this Helps.. Thanks for Watching & SUBSCRIBING

      @spaman5440  Před 10 měsíci

      Depending on the type of Hot Tub and in what state you live in and what the outside temp is how it is wired how old it is ??? several dozen things can cause it to do that.Call the office and ask to talk to Scott.. , I have the exact same heater ,taken it out .On one of the bolts, there is rust on the top which l have cleaned. There is rust on the inside, where the bolt goes through. What should I do now? Should l take out the heat element and clean the rust. If the black rubber washer is shot,can l use another one if it is similar one or are they special for hot heat. Seems alot of hassel to find a new one on the internet. Just want to point out only took it out ,to check to see if there was any of my impellor that disintegrated. But it is all clear nothing in there but the heat element.

      You Sir get an A++ for preventive maintenance... As log as it was working before you took it all apart ? Just put it back together and call it good. I would not try to replace the Black washer you are just asking for a lot of headaches trying to get it right.. If the Heater ever stop working replace the entire unit Heater , Tube , Element , Sensors and write the date on the heater tube with a sharpie.. If you get more then 7 years out of a Heater you are taking really good care of your Spa. Hope this Helped And Thanks for Watching & SUBSCRIBING

    hi, and thanks for these great videos. having an issue with a new hot tub panel. I have a 3 wire sundance spa so no neutral at tub. have an Eaton 60amp gfci panel. we have 4 wire from subpanel (has a 100amp feed from main). we connected the neutral from breaker pig tail, and white from subpanel feed to neutral bar. tested power and connections we good at breaker, etc. but the gfci keep tripping. we are not even connected to the spa. are we wiring up the neutrals incorrectly? seem like it.. or otherwise, breaker may be bad? thanks for anything you can suggest.
