Luuove your teaching style! Excellent clear verbal instruction, camera work, and handwork. Thank you. Please do not leave!! :)
So nice to see a young man so adept with needle and thread!
Young man you are indeed one talented soul...I can only hope to grow and learn to YOUR level. Thank you and God bless you for sharing. I have my FIRST three quilt tops almost done but I was so scared of handsewn binding that I just stopped working on them altogether. However, with your so clear video tutorials, I now feel confident enough to get back to work on them and that binding. Much love and prayers from, Jen in Bakersfield Ca
Doug, you make it all very clear to understand! thanks!
Doug does a wonderful tutorial!
I'm diggin' Doug's tutorials....Love his ruler too! I recently made table runners with that type of corner but didn't do a very good job..now I know why they didn't turn out as nice as Doug's! Thx for the tips!
Great tutorial Doug!
Wow! Good tutorial. Great instructor
Perfection instruction, Doug ... thank you!👏
Thank you so much for this tutorial! As popular as hexes are I've been shocked at the lack of resources for 120 degree angles, particularly the mitering. Thanks again!
Thank you for this!!
He gives good directions. Wish I could have seen the finished stitch on the front of the corner, to see if thread was showing. But over all, easy to understand.
Joella Brazile it does show, about 1/4" wide. (Can't decide if I like that or not.)
Fabulous 🙏
Awesome ty.
I do miss Kimberly!!
Hope she will be back doing the tutorials soon!
Klasien Doug is an excellent teacher!
don't worry, Kimberly will always be doing the FQS videos, with occasional guest hosts like Doug!
What about that 10" tail that was left when beginning to sew the binding to the runner? What is the purpose and what do you do with it?
You say to stop 3/8" from edge. Are you sewing the binding 3/8" from edge? What width binding are you using?
More info. please on the red & white quilt in the background? thx
Hello, it is Heritage from Doug's book, Winterlude
Please could you show how to do the inside angle on a hexagonal quilt. Thanks for this, although I have to say i find it strange watching a 'lefty'😂
Hi Veda, i think i understand your questions, and this video isn't a hexagon, but the techniques are the same for any non-90 degree angle: czcams.com/video/dq4Y7iEAAyU/video.html
What is the width of your binding strip?
Hello Tedi! Binding strips are typically 2.5" wide.
I do mine differently.
Nice slow directions. Gets his hands out of the way so we can see what he is doing and talking about.
I don't like the corner stitch showing on the front. Overall, a nice tutorial. Thanks.

Only way to avid that is to use bias binding.
