Wow! 35 and you don't look a day over 34, man you age well. ;) I was alive in 1977 and I do remember the original and yes, it was cool but yet so depressing! It's very cool of you to showcase this and take us old fogies back to the good ole days. Seems they rushed the stand or didn't even test it before finalizing it. I'm glad that at least Vader turned out right, but I agree, that seems like a terrible deal for $40. Thanks for sharing another fun video!

Got this for 10 at Ross, put all of my empire figures on here with Vader. The only gripe is the limited posing for each figure because of the awkward placements of the pegs but other then that they all look amazing on here. I am very happy to finally add a Vader with my empire collection.

Got the Vader this Christmas. Left him inside the blister pack because I was around in 1978 and had the figure. Though, at 8 years old I took him outta the packaging right away!. So it takes me back to those days. I have the pack proudly on display. Gave the box with display stand to a friend. It’s nice, but dont care for it.

Just stcking with this. Though I’ve thought about getting Vader, in the black box to display him out in the open. Right now, I’m contemplating on getting a Stormtrooper in the Kenner blister. Amazon has it for 30. I’m gonna wait and see how the price goes. For Vader, AMZN had him for 24.99. But then on Christmas week, they dropped the price to 14.99. That’s when I struck! Hope they do that for the Stormtrooper. Though I hear they didn’t make many of those.

Interestingly, the pegs on that stand fit the vintage (1978-1985) Kenner 3.75" figures much better than the 6" figures. So, as a bonus stand for my vintage Kenner collection, I actually really like it.
As a huge fan of Darth Vader, I actually bought three of this set: One to open up, one to display with the vintage-style card on my wall, and another one to keep mint-in-box.
+Nathan Rosario I wish I had the money to collect like that! And the space! Interesting about how the pegs fit the smaller figures. Weird.
Usually, I don't (I'm a toys sales associate at Walmart), but this is Darth Vader we're talking about and I have no problem giving Hasbro my money when they make a figure that looks as good as this one. I did the same for Bossk a couple of years back, because he's such an amazing looking figure and I'm also a huge Bossk fan.

Happy birthday Mike! I heard from Another toy reviewer that they will release this Vader in the black series red numbered box. My targets don't have any in. I want this Vader! All I own is a four foot tall Darth Vader.
thanks! This was the only one I found at my Target and it was hidden on the shelf behind stuff. Obviously someone trying to save it for later! Too bad! I highly recommend this. It's a good vader. But if you can wait for the non-stand version I would recommend that more.
Love the Toy Story Plastic Prisons I took your advice and got my 40th Anniversary Vader for 17.99 without all the stand BS I love the Figure itself The articulation My Lightsaber hilt even sits on the hook really nice after alittle bit of using my fingers to heat up the loop on the hilt since I put it on Vader it hasn't come off

Love your videos, you are very entertaining. I was in Walmart recently and saw several of the anniversary stand boxes torn open and the Vaders missing! I guess I am not the only one wanting just the Vader and not the stand. I don't like the stand, hides too much of the figures and is restrictive in posing them. I am waiting on Vader to be released on a card like the others.

I grabbed one on clearance for $10 at Walmart last week. Definitely worth the money! I only have Vader, Obi-Wan, and Landspeeder Luke to display on the vintage figure side. However, I displayed some POTF2 figures on it, and it looks pretty good!
Also, I love the Vader that came with it. I already had a loose Vader, so I'll keep the 40th anniversary one on the card.

What's up thank God they fixed the necklace for the cape that was my biggest main gripe. It looked so bad THE Darth Vader emperor wrath was just a waist that simple.THEY made all the right important changes I had problems with, even the nice deeper red light saber blade awesome review bro.

I love this figure except mine has a a little cut of plastic missing from the back of the helmet edge but other than that amazing. I think they're putting this Vader out again in a regular black series box in the fall

Hey Mike, Happy Birthday, I am a little older then you and have the original mail away stand with the original 12 figures 1977 and they don't fall off the pegs. Like you I opened the figures and displayed them on my moving stand, and have the original card backs for each figure. Also have the non firing boba fett Mail away. Also have other original pieces from the original release.

I have some of the 40th anniversary figures, but have not taken them out yet, as waiting to get the full series of 12 first. I like the Vader, but wish it was a little different. At points in ANH it shows the black chain at his neck, others it does not, I think the new Vader is better overall, but it does not have the black chain at his neck.

Do you keep all your transformers boxes? Im moving to a new house and the game room does not have a closet. I used to store my boxes in the closet, so now im considering trashing the boxes.
i keep the boxes for the expensive one. hasbro/takara gift sets, masterpiece, and third party boxes I tend to keep. Partially because i really like the boxes, and partially to keep all the instructions and extra accessories in something. And maybe partially because I CANT THROW THEM AWAY I HAVE A PROBLEM PLEASE SEND HELP
11:31 and 8:43 Oh come on... you can tell that he barely tried to put that lightsaber hilt onto Darth Vader's belt, because well I own one and it does go on my belt all you have to do is apply a little bit of force + patience and you'll have that lightsaber hilt on there in no time...(Why did I bother to make this comment?) But I do have to admit this is a great review video:)

Do you display your 2014 6" black series Darth Vader near lights? Because if you do, watch out for the semi-gloss black plastic on Vader's thighs fading into a flat black fading into a semi-glossy grey. It happened to a friend of mine, I'm just making you aware that it could happen.

Purchased this via Amazon a month or two ago...don't remember how much I paid, but it was way less than the original release price of $40. I have Darth Revan and plan to purchase further Black Series, so I went with this selection because of Vader and I thought the stand would be a fun and easy (HA!) way to display characters. But wow...the stand really does suck. Revan has the same problem you had with 3P0. Still keep the stand up, but it's frustrating for sure. Also wasn't fun to put together. Side note...can't wait to get the "Child" black series in May!

The cheapest ive seen this legacy pack here in Canada is $58 with most places selling it for over $65 its too expensive to justify opening it and enjoying the toy.

haha, thats kinda funny. The stand wasnt so bad once i played with it a bit and wasn't trying to put things on from behind. But it IS a big cramped, and i still CANNOT get 3PO's feet to peg in. it's impossible.
i didnt have a problem with my 3po either lol i did however feel that all my characters were more loose and not secured by the peg though.
Yeah, it's been a few years but my C3PO didn't fit on the peg either🤷♂️

use a hobby knife, carefull slice the bubble close to the card back on the sides and bottom leaving the top untouched. You can pull the bubble out super easily.

The figure stand kinda grew on me as a display piece. If you could get it on clearance cheap, it’s kinda worth it. Although it still sucks because the pegs don’t fit the foot holes they should for most of the figures.
