He's Way too fragile compared to optimus 2.0 who tanked hits from predaking and unicorn without any damage and is way more agile. In tf3 his whole jet thing falls apart in like 2 minutes against weak fodder opponents before even engaging sentinel,not to mention he got taken out for a good while by just some wires.

He did, after the 1st movie, he was brought back in an unfamiliar, unbalanced body, it wasn't until AoE that he got to make a body of his own design, and TLK where Quintessa perfected it.

He was my favourite character so far in the series because od his design, monologues, interions, scenes like when he came back from what shouls been his dead (after the 1st cosmic bridge incident) to beat starscearm's ass. You forgot the celestial armor enchantment verison of Megatron. Smokescreen labeled this verison “Megacron”. Megatron had improved armor practically for a celestial and enhancements like how Megatron could now travel across the stars in his vehicle mode
