All art tips given in the videos are SUGGESTIONS, and you can draw however you'd like! I am also not a perfect artist and have many areas to improve in as well. The things I cover in videos are just my own approaches which I share in hopes that they may help others. If they do help, great! But if you feel like the tips are wrong or don't apply to your style, draw as you'd like- It's your art! - Jak na to + styl
Filters are like the cherry on top in digital art! It's always nice to experiment with them since you can create effects that might not be possible in traditional art. So I highly recommend playing around with your digital work of art. You never know what cool results you can get :D
For sure! Effect layers are great to change the mood and impression of a drawing : D
I always feel bad when I filter because I'm scared I'll get bullied by other artists for "not actually drawing" or coloring my art even tho I DID, its I secret that the art community is insanely toxic and hypocritical
Huh? That doesn’t make any sense,
using filter on your art is a common practice, it applies to other art form too like photography, animation, film making/ videography,3d and many more, It’s not only a draw or painting exclusive things.
Are u sure the art community is toxic or is it you the one who create a toxic environment by making false statements and accusations ??
You shouldn't ever feel bad for using filters! Even in professional animation studios, lots of the lighting / filtering work done in the compositing stage really brings the colors and mood together! Adding correctional layers is definitely a skill as well : D
@@user-qf4kr8ef1k way to support someone that gets bullied, "ive never seen it so you must be at fault here!!!!" like just shut the front door... the art community IS violently toxic, people get doxxed for showing the tool bar of their art program ffs let alone filters, stop pretending like everything's perfectly fine
filters are also common in traditional art, many painters will use a transparent overlay color to change a painting it’s vibe, same goes for copic marker artists, the only difference with digital filters is that you can adjust things precisely, that does NOT mean it’s less talented, just more flawless
I think so many professional artists also use 'filter', like gaussian blue
It really feels like the character is in an actual cold environment after the filter. I love it. Thanks for sharing. ❤
Thank you so much!!
From manhwa to PJSK type art, omg I love this
Thank you!!
I WAS LOOKING FOR THIS TYPE OF TUTORIAL EVERYWHERE [I knew filters could do wonders but I didn't have anything to go off of/had no idea what I was doing/was absolutely just FREEBALLING it]
I'm glad that this tutorial came at a good time for you!
Sameeeee I was looking for literal months
I think u nailed the original drawing. Cause I actually like it much more without the filters but been loving your tutorials and will experiment more with your guides!
I'm glad you liked the drawing even without filters! Thank you for watching!
WOAH THE THUMBNAIL GIVES ANIME
So this is why my drawings all look so flat ig
Some styles work better with less or no filters, it's up to you! : D Another commenter mentioned they liked the non-filtered drawing here more than the filtered, so really it's up to personal preference!
I'm an artist for the last 4 years (for digital), and i never realized you could merge visible to new layer, this is going to be a game changer for me thank you
It's one of my favorites to use! Saves a lot of time especially if I want to easily add blur or other effects : D Thank you for watching!
Also definitely recommend utilizing materials with texture and using texture brushes to add texture. They're a great way to add more pizzazz to ones art besides filters.
Another amazing tutorial 🙏 Learning digital art seems so much more approachable with your videos! Recently, I had felt my “finished” pieces didn’t feel finished and this video came at the perfect time (:
I'm glad to hear this video came at a good time for you!! Honored you think so, thank you for watching!!
1:58 Oh, sweet. You helped me figure out that Krita has an option for this. You have some nice advice, adding finish is really fun. Also side note, this video is sooo calm
That's great that it works in Krita too! : D And thank you so much!
Thank you for finally helping me understand how the tone curve works
I think the first time I started adding filters at the end of the process was when i saw a tip that putting a copy of the meeged drawing on overlay and then using gaussian blur on it gives sort of an anime screencap feel. That's when i found out about the power of post processing lol.
Another favorite of mine is meege everything to a new layer, using gradient maps, then playing around with layer modes and opacity.
I got more stuff i can try now so thanks for the video!
really love the vibe of your characters, gentle and nice, your voice is smooth too
this is amazing, thank you so much for covering this!!!!
Thank you for watching!
Im so happy to see that some of the stuff you pointed I already did! And even more happy to find new stuff to do to give it that extra pizzazz to my illustrations!!
Filters effects are soo good! I’ve been using Gaussian blur and sometimes sharpen. Now I’ve added some gradient mapping with overlays, and other adjustments layers to give illustrations that pop it needs.
This is really amazing, especially the last one!! thanks for all the tips
i love love adding filters and playing around with color adjustments and blend modes :D it's literally my favorite part of the drawing hehe
Same!! I love watching the drawing come together in the final steps : D
Bro this video saved my life! I wish I could find your video sooner so I wouldn't have to go through pain when it comes to drawing digitally 😭
