What I want to know is, how often are the filters changed? Also spraying with disinfectant shouldn't be instead of thoroughly cleaning the aircraft, how often is that done I wonder

    I really miss travelling. This year would have been my biggest year for travel, i work full-time and i save all my vacation days and money for this year. My trips to Japan (Childhood dream to experience Sakura), The Philippines (to visit my 86yo mother) and South Korea was cancelled last April. I have another upcoming trip to Peru (Lima and Cusco/Manchu Picchu) and Rio, Brazil but i don't think that will happen. Now i am jobless because of the lockdown. If the people want to fly with social distancing, so that those people must buy their own aircraft. Or if those people want to fly with a middle seat empty, so those people must buy their seat and the middle seat, I think that's fair.

    • @kevinhsu8184
      @kevinhsu8184 Před 4 lety

      The problem is airlines will not allow you to buy the seat next to/ in front/ back of you which can be quite expensive but perhaps affordable. Flying private is just too expensive for most people. For example, to fly from LA to NYC in economy nonstop it cost $300 round trip. So let's say if I want to buy 9 seats (3 in front, my row, and 3 in back) that cost $2700 which is very expensive but with a stretch, do able for people if they have an emergency and need to fly across country. To fly private for 5 hours, that means it'll cost you $25,000 which is not doable for regular people.

    The air fliter of airplane is not safe. The HEPA air filter has been designed for capturing dust. The size of corona virus is 0.1micron which is smaller than the common HEPA filter (0.3 micron) of air craft. Even though a much higher quality HEPA filter is used, two caveats are still concerned. 1.the recirculated air with covid19 can be penetrated by high pressure difference. Thus, you need to wear N95 mask all the time inside the airplane in order to lessn possiblity of infection. 2. If a super HEPA filter can capture 99.99%, then the covid virus would be remained in the filter. So, new aviation regulation is required for replacing HEPA filter at each journey.

I’ve seen many videos of people flying during the pandemic and can hear other passengers coughing in the background.. and people should be taught how to contain their sneezes and coughs effectively since sometimes it does just happen randomly. A lot of people barely cover. You really have to cover firmly into a napkin or your elbow to minimize germs flying out in the surrounding air

    About 15 years ago I worked as a long term schedule planner in the airline industry for about 7 years so I´m still very much following what is happening in general in the airline business. I´m still wondering and asking myself how much will be changed in....let´s say - 1 year from now, if we´re lucky and Covid-19 disappears at the end of this year. How much will be changed? Will there be less business travel via aircraft? Will there be a reduction in people flying far away on their vacation? What I mean is that I hear many people talking about how Corona will change everything forever, but I´m not really sure that will happen. I mean we had Sars / bird flu and other viruses too - and they did NOT change the industry or the world for good. I know Covid-19 has probably been more severe than SARS etc. - but when I look at myself - I personally would not be afraid to travel far away on a vacation as soon as Covid-19 has reached an unsignificant level. From my previous work I still know some planners who are working for airlines and I know they are worried about their future.
    I could be TOTALLY wrong - but my best guess is that we are back to what we could call "a normal state" in about a year or so. Will there be sanitizers everywhere? Yes, probabaly. Will there be changed precautions and changes in the airports, check-in etc.? Yeah I think so. But I honestly don´t think it will change the way we travel very significantly.
    I DO know that Covid-19 has killed many people, and even healthy people can be hit very hard by the virus. But for me personally I won´t let that affect the rest of my life, so I get scared travelling abroad. Life is too short for that - but I will take my precautions when I get home from i.e. a vacation in South East Asia and I will not be around elderly or sick people within 2 weeks from when I come home.

      Correct, because life is not safe. There is nothing a company, person or government can do to make you safe, as it doesn't exist. All that security at the airports though is for show, it is to make people feel good... nothing more.

    I have done a lot of travelling. Do you think if a persons hygeine is low (smells) should they be turned away from a plane, coach, taxi, ferry, hotel until gone and washed or rechanged clothing. Do you think guests in hotels, villas should have rules so when check out they do not leave the room like a tip as spreads germs , maybe a warning of a sanction if they urinated the room for example and left it absolutely filthy for the vulnerable cleaners (I mean really filthy) and cleaners could take photos. I also think when people check in to hotels maybe more staggering times to reduce queues or some rules at each hotel where people sit at chairs and receptionist calls their names to reception one by one or two and the reception desk and the concierge desk could be used also as a receptionist desk.. think reception desk areas need a lot of cleaning as people hang around there, lean on the desk, use pens, fill in book in forms, touch paper, stick elbows on desk (we all have done it) bar areas, tables, chairs high standards of cleaning and maybe employ separate cleaners for this (do not forget taxi, buggy's, tourist buses, tourist jeeps, tourist boat trips etc)
    Everyone i know will travel they have put money aside until less restrictions as if going 5 star they are paying for restaurants and different bars and no good until improves as wont be able to use services, the guests will be watching for cleaning and public toilets in UK or abroad need reviewing as big hygeine risk maybe rules wear everyone wears footwear when wandering around pool and bar areas, maybe before each guest enters dining room and bars, at the door they put gel on hands in front of a supervisor, maybe offer more cleaning services at hotels, villas, tourist areas, travel staff should regularly wash and shower also ie airlines (rechange uniform and have spare uniforms and toiletries and in hotels and bars staff high standard of uniform and spare uniforms if do longer shifts as people will be watching and seing staff put on hand gel also in front of customer, maybe coffee in plastic cups for a while throw it away, maybe a option of a shower if pay for a lounge at an airport, or maybe posters, tv screens, a you tube vide0 recommending people to wash before getting on the plane (maybe bring own small toiletries from home to reduce allergy and infection also) and changing some clothing for example, yes it is a matter of choice and time, but i think people should have to come a bit earlier to check in so can do these things, maybe at airport have people sometimes given out small free hand gels until the problem decreases more and review every few weeks, When people buy suit cases (a sign in the case advising them to clean case, instructions, cleaning of case inside and outside before a trip, maybe when get to resort and when get home) as cases near other cases at airports, luggage cuboards etc.(plus hand luggage) these are just options which some may take up and strict cleaning of hand wash basis, taps (however aware some people are dirty so it is difficult) also all drug dogs at airports should be looked after to a high standard large bed areas, blankets clean carriers, jabs, de flea, shampoo and well inspected and not kept in a tiny cage in a heat and good food and fluids and well cared for (do not forget vending machine cleaning and internet cafes at transport areas and space invader machines, public telephones (all the hands touching these buttons) we only think about it now and doors (unless automatic) maybe a garden like some airports where people outside more before a flight where can drink outside and encourage this (if people are homeless and sleeping at airports maybe a floor level designated for them) just a few thoughts and ideas

    Tell customers no fevers on planes, make sure you test them and have them sign that they haven't taken Tylenol for 3 days. This is a proper quarantine procedure.

    The problem is if tickets are expensive people cant fly. People will be making a lot less money if they even have a job. In the future there will be less airlines and Leds planes. I predict a permanent 20% increase over the next few years assuming countries subsidize..
