I would like to see how you have rigged your mainsheet with the details of the bridle, how they are attached to the gunwales, and around the boom end detail of the main block there. I see you still sheet from a block on the transom (rather, on the back of your tiller i believe). I recently acquired a 2.2 hp motor and when mounted and tilted up (not in use, while sailing) my current mainsheeting arrangement is wholly inadequate as the sheet gets fouled on the motor case constantly. Very annoying. What would you think of just sheeting from the thwart as so many boat do? Dave
I found the original Vee arrangement caught on the O/B and it also required a lot of force to sheet the sail right in. I decided to get rid of a Vee, and also to attach the sheet about 12 inches in from the end of the boom. This is done by just putting a tie around the boom, and it stopped the sheet from catching on the OB. I tried a rope bridle, like a Vee, across the transom using existing fixing points. It is, in action, like a "split tail mainsheet". This was OK but a bit messy. Later I tried sheeting to the tiller head (I have a big special tiller), and this is simple and works beautifully. There is no effect on steering, even though my fixing point is a little way along the tiller. I also use a ratchet block made by Holt at the tiller head position. I usually control tiller and sheet with one hand. D

Did you sleep on the boat overnight if so I would like to see your set up for the boom tent .
Thanks for posting it.
Yes I did sleep aboard. I will try to video the tent arrangement next time. D

Did you overnight on the beach or tucked yourself away in the harbour
We usually enter the harbour and overnight on the beach. We do not use the marina.
