Little Debbie Ice Cream Review: How Similar Are They to the Snack Versions? | Food Friday #2

- Today Brandon and I present my 2nd Freakin' Friday Food in February review, testing out all 7 flavors of the new Little Debbie ice creams vs their snack cake counterparts to see which one is the closest! Note that for the Zebra Cakes, I could only find the Zebra Cake Rolls, but the ingredients are the same for both!

Man that is not a Zebra Cake! Zebra cakes were hexagon shaped with 3 horizontal layers: cake, filling, cake. Little Debbie just reusing the swiss roll machines to make zebra cakes and it’s a travesty. It’s blasphemy to call that monstrosity a Zebra Cake!

At my store they’re selling both. The new one in the roll form is called zebra cake rolls so it’s just a new variety but the original are still being sold.

I 100% agree 👍🏼 We have enough people, try to be so effing smart, but end up being annoying lol. So i am always happy when i see a new FR video. If it involve the family, even better.

Crazy idea - smash the actual snacks into quality vanilla or chocolate ice cream, call it a win.
Would definitely get more of the cake etc. I feel like most ice creams these days hardly have any of the toppings that they say that they put in there.
@@koi.in.pond3149 ben and jerrys used to have bits of pretzel in their ice cream. Now they grind it to the texture of sand.
I think this is the solution but it doesn’t hold up for mass production. I can go on GoPuff and find ice cream just like that with popcorn and cake and cookies folded into a vanilla base but it’s all boutique, hand mixed to order.

I am very disappointed about the nutty bars. They are my favorite. I could sit and eat a whole box with a glass of cold milk.😋

2:42 I always ate my Swiss Rolls chilled in the fridge anyway. They tasted sweeter to me that way than when the creme is warm.

They really should have made the Swiss Roll version with a swirl of vanilla in the middle. Maybe it's not possible, but it really just looked like chocolate ice cream. Now I want a Swiss Roll. YUMMY!

Thanks for reviewing these! I'm excited to give the Zebra Cake version a try soon. Btw eating Zebra Cakes in any other shape than a hexagon unimaginable to me these days lmao. I still don't get why they made a second version to begin with. It feels like there's always too much cream to cake ratios in those. 🤷♀️

First off, LOVE the outtakes at the end. Secondly, I think the Nutty Buddy got the short end of the stick and you should have revisited that one to dig in deeper. That said, I have not yet tried these but look forward to it

The real chunks of "stuff" are usually in the middle after you dig down a bit. Combine with outside edges. Ice cream eating is an art. Trust me. 🍨

On the swiss cake roll icecream, there's more swirl deeper in the icecream and to me, it tasted so much like a swiss cake roll, I loved it

Little Debbie's are made in Chattanooga TN close to my hometown so they are dirt cheap around here, so are Moon pies.

Dude I survived on 80% cosmic brownies in high school. They were 25 cents at the concession counter, and they packed the most sugar for your money. And they're already split down the middle to share with my broke little brother. Far superior to non cosmic brownies. 👍🌌

We have the cakes here in IL but my store (not Walmart) doesn't have the ice cream.
Ice cream is my pleasure indulgence. I haven't eaten one of those cakes in 30 + years.

I love to freeze Swiss Rolls before eating. The outer chocolate falls off and then you have a velvety center roll!

I've had so many birthdays I remember when Little Debbie was +/- $1 and the oatmeal cookie filling was like straight lard with sugar. At this point I do not like to even think about eating them, my stomach flips a little. Good that folks still enjoy them.

Wow. I guess I've been away from "civilization" for a good minute. I've been at a VA rehab program in White City Oregon for 13 months and have not been out in public since it's a lock down facility because of covid. I'm gonna smash all of these when I get out in 2 weeks. Great reviews.👍
Aww, this was great. I always enjoy your videos but this one was really fun. Totally enjoyed your son's synopsis of the treat comparisons. You guys look more like brothers. Great video. And good for Little Debbie branching out with the ice cream.
You have to keep in mind that the icecream is made of liquid goo and then gets freezed. During the liquid state going to frozen there is a bit of time and the solid pieces can sag to the bottom of the ice cream cup.
The zebra cake ice cream probably should have been matched to fudge rounds.
OMG lil Debbie now has ice cream?! I ate a bazillion oatmel cream pies and swiss rolls as a kid. Now I got to go hunt them down in my area, if I can find them. Thanks for the review it was great.
