    This is wonderful! Your signing is amazing and I love the vocab you chose! I knew some of it already but there was plenty of new things; and of course context with the sentences helps tremendously. I hope you have more and are maybe planning to put out more! There's so many basic ASL things, but I really need a good shove towards the advanced signs.

    Thanks for the information, I'm much appreciated you for that, Im deaf, and I used to be social with hearing world because I don't even know what signs is to be meaning in words. For example, I am trying to think what a word in ASL, with CL. I've been searching your CZcams that I found. Your sign is making a sense to me and I need it. :)

  • @LooselyControlledChaos114

    Something to keep in mind for other people watching this is that some of these can be dialect as well. I've seen some of these signs just slightly different here out west in Colorado. Not wrong on either end but I love seeing how Jeremy signs v. what a lot of us use out here. Thanks for this video, I love the aesthetic, easy to see and understand without being against a drab coloured cloth. :D

I just recently got a job at Lowe's still waiting to do the background check but want to try to refresh my signs for Hardware tools and such, just in case I do run into a customer that is deaf, who knows.

    Love this video! I haven’t looked at more of your videos, but in this day and age of DEI (Diversity, Equity and Inclusion) discussions, I’m wondering if you have a specific sign for “equity”? I’ve seen different signs, but none that seem to represent conceptually correct. (I’m an interpreter). Thanks!

    Stumbling through CZcams.... I saw one of your videos...(fast pace) but it led me to another.. and another .. and then I was hooked. I'm glad I'm hooked.. the learning will be challenging. I do have a question.. on this video..are the variations of signs different from those used in the south ?

  • @zoeye610
    @zoeye610 Před 4 lety +1

    Good Video! The only one I don't think is conceptually accurate is the "cutting costs" There is no cutting happening, but really what the phrase means is deducing costs wherever you see fit. I think a better way to relay that message would be to put in the sign for "minimize" Example: My boss says the company needs to cut costs, so some of my co-workers are being laid off, but I get to stay." Better to say "Company barely getting by (scarce), minimize costs have to, group co-workers fire fire fire, my job keep."
    This is just my suggestion, of course feel free to use your language whatever way you see fit!

    • @zoeye610
      @zoeye610 Před 4 lety

      @M. P. I agree, deaf signers do tend to say that. My comment is from an Interpreters point of view and is solely based on concept, but this is often used

    Hey, with regards to putting one speaker on hold to have a brief discussion with another speaker, how polite/rude is this method, are there other methods, and what's the general length of time that the second conversation can last before it *does* become rude? I expect these are different from similar moves in English, especially since putting a finger in someone's face like that *is* typically seen as rude -- and because when you're looking away from your conversation partner, you have effectively shut off their *ability* to continue, in a way that doesn't happen for hearing conversational partners (unless perhaps you leave the room altogether).
