Justin Fields will have extra time to gain experience while being coached by Mike Tomlin! Pittsburgh is the perfect place for him to play football!

In a way you’re right. But one could also argue that the Wilson and Fields moves both have more value per dollar spent than the Queen move. Getting Wilson and fields for a few million total gives more value to the team per dollar than Queen for tens of million, which is why that gets more coverage. Queen’s average salary under the new co tract will be $13.6m. He’s getting paid 13 times more than Russ, and nobody would say Queen is a full 13 times more valuable than Russ. That’s what makes the Russ story especially so big.

Great kid but this is unfortunately correct coming from a Bears fan. Justin tends to want to throw deep every time which leads to holding the ball too long. Thereby missing open receivers in the short to intermediate areas. Kurt Warner said it now next best after this comment... Justin continues to miss the layups

Man, Tone sounds like me trying to convince myself Justin was the guy. He is who he is, a dynamic player who is pretty inconsistent as a passer. Diamond of a human though, will be great for that Steelers culture.
It was hard for most of us Bears fan to accept this. But we had the right guy at the wrong time and didn’t do right by him when he was here and made up for it by doing right by him on the way out. It’s the right move to go Caleb. But im happy Justin went to Pittsburgh. Hopefully it works out for both teams.

I would love to see it with the Steelers offense where Russell Wilson and Justin Fields are on the field at the same time and they do some creative play where Russell Wilson, fix the handoff to Najee Harris or Jalen Warren and then he gives the ball to Justin Fields and Justin Fields throws the ball deep down field or depending on the coverage runs the ball or a play where he acts as a third running back and it could be like a run pass option play where he has the option talking about Russell Wilson to hand it off to the one of the running backs or gives it to Justin Fields Something creative that would be dope

Need to draft a C and RT right out of the gate to secure the OLine as Wilson & Fields have been sacked a combined 268 times over the past 3 years.
Pickett was supposed to be mr intangibles because he did nothing to display physical prowess at qb. Wilson and fields can read man/zone def and strech the defense. Southpark can have kenny but i doubt he lasts an episode...

It couldn't really get any better for Fields. Gets to learn from a HOF QB for a year, gets to develop with Tom Arth in a system that suits him from Arthur Smith with a star WR in Pickens, star TE in Muth & one of the best backfields in the NFL of Harris & Warren. All that in a stable organisation with a top 5 defence.
Nah he could've have ended up in so many better situations. He could have went to the Vikings and got paid like Far old and Learned from Kevin O Connell,
He could have also went to the Rams. Where he's learning from Sean McVay and Matthew Stafford.
Russ isn’t HOF caliber. We can’t let just every SB winning QB in the HOF
Harris/Warren isn’t one of the best backfields in the league? Warren is a role player and Najee has been a bust prior to a slight break out this year. I’d argue it’s not even a top 10-12 backfield.
Much has upside but isn’t a star by any means. His stats haven’t been great and he’s been injured. He “could be” a star but has yet to prove it
Pickens has huge upside but Is also extremely inconsistent. He’s a good young WR2 but can’t be a WR1 at this stage in his career. If pickens is the WR1 when the season starts then they’re in trouble.
Losing diontae was huge. They need to draft a WR or make a run at Mike Williams. If they don’t get Mike or a rookie then they’re in serious trouble. Teams can easily double/shadow pickens and then it’s all tier 3 WR’s.
They made great moves at QB. Low investment and low risk.. but, need a WR. Also not a huge fan of either QB. Russ is completely washed at this stage of his career and fields is a project. Steelers are probably going to be around .500 again. Remember, broncos were hard to watch last year on TV because of how bad russ and that offense were..
Steelers will get 2nd-4th in that division and squeak into playoffs for a first round loss at best.

Used to be the term "backup QB" meant permanent bench warmer. There was never any hope for you unless starter went down for weeks. When Ben was hurt, Mason never really looked like a step above (or even close to), or could be coached any higher than what he was putting out in 2019. His ceiling was met... So Ben goes, and we're with Mason, enough to get us to the draft. KP seemed like everyone wanted the hometown kid to do good, but honestly too much too soon for the kid. Mitch didn't do much better than him, and as a whole QB showing was bleak. Honestly felt like Mac Jones could've been coached to the level of Ben...
Anyways, Fields probably will end up being the next Mason after Russel leaves. We'll probably draft another QB that'll get slotted ahead, Fields will leave like KP, and we'll be endlessly screwed. No one wants to be the bench warmer.

Here is the honest truth, NOBODY knows how either will play. But, it's not like they have a 6 year contract, fully guaranteed for 30 million a year.
Wilson has a one year, prove that he is worthy or he is one of two things, GONE, or, a two year contract for backup quarterback money.
Fields will sit, barring a disaster with Wilson, the Steelers will NOT pick up his 5th year, what they will do, is offer him a different contract, likely, also, a couple of years and for much less than Fields thought he would be earning.
That's why it would be great for Justin to learn how to be a better pocket passer under Russell Wilson.

People are so pissed saying "The Steelers are going to be trash this year" for the past 3-4 years. Now they're punching the air at how they only lost 1 AFC North game with uncle Rico at QB. Fields is not trash, the bears are a terrible organization. Russ played decent last year too on a worse team with worse coaching. Eat it haters, the Steelers are still not Cleveland/Detroit bad.
Not all Yinzers are happy with this. Tomlin has already anointed Wilson as QB1, instead of having a competition and starting the best player. It worked out so well with Trubisky and Kenny Panic. If Mike Tomlin coached the 49ers, he would have cut or buried Brock Purdy. Tomlin has developed ZERO QBs, he is clueless in this area, but in love with the sound of his own voice.

5th year is expensive depends who you're talking to. if russell isn't the guy for next year, and they want a look at a 25 yr old for future, while burrow, Watson, Lamar control the division. before this year the cap was increased 30,000,000 dollars. next year could be same. fields contract could feel like a drop in the cap bucket. 55 mil for mahomes will be nothing in 4 years. he'll be at like 75 mil... 26 mil for fields isn't out of line. could be a steelers for years! go fields. you weren't our guy. It’s an option, they can say no and rework a deal. He just got traded for a 6th round pick. People acting like Fields will command all this money are being ridiculous.

Whats the difference between some random qb you could draft in the 6th and Fields? The random could actually be good. They way overpaid, no one else wanted him.
