ART-13 and DY-17A combo - first power-up

Temporary 28vdc power supply with two (tired) batteries floated across the output was just barely enough to get the dynamotor running. Attempting to run autotune while the dynamotor is spinning is too great of a load for the temp power supply. Once a proper supply has been built or otherwise procured the next step will be test the transmitting functionality of this set.

With all the distraction of those $%#&* dynamotors, it's a miracle that our AF guys could hit any of the targets.
On a even lighter note. When we were kids the ART-13's were a step up from the command sets. We soon found out that the ART-13's could go on the AM Broadcast band. Some covered more of the band than others but all we had to do when the ticket holder in the family wasn't looking was to throw a long wire up a tree and presto. We were our own local hot Rock and Roll station. Or on Sunday we got on and even with like 80 Watts we drowned out the preachers. Sometimes we used to call ourselves the voice of evil, or we used to "comment" on the attributes of various girls. We carefully switched locations so the immediate listeners didn't recognize us.
The ART'S made great TVI if you went in and "adjusted" some internals. We were all (malicious) Jimmy Neutrons back then.....😉
