Based OF devs reopened downloads after radio silence from Valve and even made the game even more accesible by removing the need for a third party program.
What we really need for these mercs are campaign like game modes where you play as your favorite 9 mercs and go up against enemies these guys as like a mission in halo or something. Like mvm but instead of defending you are attacking.
I remember seeing a post somewhere that talked about map design for Open Fortress(or maybe it was when it was still called Deathmatch): The devs have a tool that helps them adjust their maps' design by seeing what area of a map are "hot" and which are "cold", with a lot of activity or with very little activity, and eventually intervene if they don't like the numbers by making certain areas more or less interesting. The positioning of pickups is part of map design which can turn an empty hallway in a point of conflict, so it's definitely to be seen as intentional and more thought out than one may think. I believe they've done a swell job with the maps, weapon positioning just being part of it
they were originally one project lol, back in the day it was tf2c's deathmatch mode but they split off because the two halves of the game were becoming just too d8fferent to manage, imo it was a smart choice lol
Valve could have gone this direction im glad we got the tf2 we have today this also looks awesome now we can have both hope we get this mod on steam as well
A TF2 video is going to take me notably more effort, as I'm going to have to talk about the impact it's had on me since it was, and still is pretty foundational to my life. I intend to make one, but it's going to be something deeper than just "this is a good game"
As a guy that talked with pro players a lot, I will have to say that the flamethrower, is kind of awful. It's arguably the least useful weapon, as everything can outdo it. If you have nothing else? Sure, but if you have ANYTHING, just use that.

First time I've joined an open fortress server there was a cheater using the railgun and one shotting everyone in the lobby. That's always fun.
We can't have peace, even outside of TF2
this is why l only play less populated servers, casual in tf2 or more "open" servers in TF2C or OF always have this kind of person
