- In this tutorial, you will learn how to smooth skin in Photoshop!
We will work with two high-end skin softening techniques.
Both methods are non-destructive, which means that you can edit your skin-softening effect at any time!
But most importantly, these skin smoothing techniques will leave the skin texture intact. So that you can get beautiful smooth skin, without it looking fake or too soft.
The first skin softening technique will use a brand new feature of Photoshop CC. The Texture Slider in Camera Raw.
If you are in an older version of Photoshop, don’t worry, the second technique will work in Photoshop CS6.
We’ll start this portrait retouching tutorial by removing blemishes and other skin distractions using Photoshop’s Spot Healing Brush Tool.
Then, after the initial clean-up, we’ll learn step-by-step how to smooth and soften skin without blurring skin texture, or other vital areas in the portrait.
Also, check out the link below to download a Free Photoshop Action that will allow you to apply the Skin Smoothing effect in Photoshop with just one click!
Want to apply the high-end skin-softening effect in 1 Minute or Less in Photoshop? Then look at the link below to download the free action!

I've being watching your videos and learning a lot from them. Nice pace and fluency in the videos, it's like you are in a classroom with one of the best teachers. Thanks, Jesus!
You are an amazing teacher. Thank you for this tutorial.
This tutorial’s a lifesaver! Thank you for sharing.
I've learned about using blur and high pass to fix the skin texture before, but it's the first time I actually understand that this technique is intended to separate the image by the frequency. Thank you for your awesome video!
You're the best !! Your English, is clear and understandable. You explain in detail everything and give a reason for every action, in a quick way, which simplifies everything, for who has no idea what certain icons are used for. Thanks, and keep going!
Excellent tutorial. It saves me time and easy to do. Thank man!
Thank you very much for creating &presenting this very valuable tutorial to us. The manner in which you take the time to explain three underlying concepts that are key to fully understanding the techniques &the tools to utilize are key &will help us in developing our repertoire of valuable & marketable skill sets. I really appreciate it when you take the effort to adapt the technique to not only the latest tools/features of the most recent release builds of PS CD but as far back as possible to earlier versions as well (CS6 in this case)... Again Thank You Jesús!
Thank you, Jorge! I really appreciate your comment!

I always learn so much from your tutorials. And that's why I do get your notices whenever you post a new vid! I'm also curious as to where I could get one of those t-shirts you are wearing! I like that!!! Thanks much for sharing your knowledge!
Thank you, Gary! I appreciate it! The shirt was a gift from a friend. She got it at the Adobe MAX conference last year. I'll be there again teaching this year.
Brilliant stuff. The action is wonderful. I've seen this type of thing before, but always thought it was a lot of faff for just the occasional portrait. Now with your excellent action I can just click and go. Thanks so much for this.

Thanks for this video Jesus, you are hands down the best photoshop trainer on CZcams. I do have a question however. If after converting the two layers to a smart object you wanted to go back and work with the spot healing tool, how would you go about this? Is there anyway to do it and still retain the smart object?
I'm amazed at my result!

Sir Please provide image link for practice, Nice tutorial good work, thanks for help me
Never seen FS been applied that way before. I guess it works the same way, just not using the apply image step?
Yeah. Apply image actually gives you a slightly better result in giving you the original image back. But for this we don't need the extra works since we don't really want the original image back
Thanks you pro ☺️
