This is the most comprehensive tutorial I've watched on smooth cut outs. It's clear, concise, and the trainer shows how to use the various cut out tools going from simple examples to harder ones such as a real life person. I learn't so many techniques in just this one tutorial!

was cool ;for me i had to stop or pause the video to right some things down , still very excellent job
Wow! Great tutorial - I love how you walk completely through the technique, not assuming that someone (like me) knows the name of the tool or what does, and then explaining the thing's purpose and the concept as you go along. Extremely helpful and great teaching style - can't wait to binge watch more of your tutorials!
Creating smooth cut outs have my nemesis for years. It's going to take me a little time to get comfortable with all the steps, but this lesson has been one of the very best that I've watched.
Thank you, Boris! I'm glad you found it useful!

The best tutorial I have seen so far. Tried many other ways and the results wasn't like yours. 💯
I've heard of all this and I've seen other tutorials do it howeve, you took your time and explained it well so I can better understand it which is the important thing I think in a tutorial.
I appreciate it thank you very much. I learned quite a bit from this tutorial.
You're welcome, Markess! Thanks for the comment!
Your videos have been a huge help! I recently took a job that required me to learn Photoshop and I had no idea where to begin. I've been binge-watching all of your videos the past few weeks and it has been a lifesaver. The way you explain everything is so clear and easy to follow. Keep up the good work and thank you for your tutorials!
Absolutely didn't know about vectors in Photoshop. Thank you!
Nice tutorial Jesús! Combining Masks is a great subject and the Pen Tool are always good to cover. The mention of TO MANY POINTS for a selection is important. Can't tell you how many times I've seen this! Really bogs down a files performance. Keep up the good work. Always appreciated!
Thank you, Matt! I appreciate it!!!
No matter what you think you know on the subject, it always pays to watch mr. Ramirez' videos. At least that is my experience.
Mine too.
Thank you, Carl! I'm glad you find my videos useful!
the same here :D I love to watch his tutorials. I always learn something new. Every of his tutorials is "a must" for me
Carl Kristensen , 100% agree. I click all his videos first the like button, then I start watching 🖖
@@PhotoshopTrainingChannel they are amazing, thank you for them
Damn, just spent hours digging CZcams to find those informations. You are the most straightforward with clear explanations out of all the other CZcamsrs I've seen, thank you so much
I didn't know about some of these techniques and processes. I've been struggling for some time with difficult selections of different sorts, and this tutorial will make life a LOT easier. Thank you for making this tutorial, what I learned from it will be extremely useful in the future! I've bookmarked it for future reference.
You're welcome, Joe H!
In the beginning, after LimeWire worked, I used CS-3. Get this, the 'Polygonal Lasso" to cut out rounded objects. I couldn't understand what the 'pentool' was doing with all those Default shapes and crap so I increased the file size huge. I found a Tutorial by Mellissa Evans and it all began to make Sense. The Defaults were the problem. The first Useful page that got me Free from ignorance and my art all over the Earth. 3dmacphee 3dfantasys
Definitely did not know any of these techniques! Will definitely be watching on repeat to practice them.
👍🙂 I'm glad you found them useful, Sara!
I always love your tutorials, even though I get lost sometimes, I can always go back over it! Thank you!!!!
You're welcome, PhotoPhix!
This is hands down the best tutorial I've watched on how to do this. I've spent days watching countless videos. Thank you so much!
I am new to photoshop and have just started getting into different techniques to separate subject matter and background. Watching your tutorial has helped me a lot in understanding the different combinations of tools.
Thank you for your clean and in depth content! Your way of explaining the tools has helped me get used to photoshop very efficiently.
Arrow keys to fine tune the vector points is GENIUS!! Thanks for that!
Thank you, jrsmoots!
Wow, this is 1 tutorial I may have to watch multiple times and as always practice, practice, practice & when I think I've got it practice some more to ensure I was right.
You can never practice too much.
Thank you for your patience in making these tutorials & keeping them at a price [free] us pensioners can afford
Photoshop is a hobby tool for me not a business tool as it maybe for others.
You're welcome, Tony! I'm glad you enjoy them!
Great tutorial! Thank you! It’s not too advanced for beginners like myself, yet not too elementary. You do a great job at explaining what you’re teaching while keeping a good pace. Perfect.
I learned so much in this tutorial. Especially how to make vector masks. I've spent a lot more time drawing paths with the pen tools. The methods you showed are so much quicker and accurate; and showing the methods using Adobe Photoshop CC, the apps that I have. Thank you.
Another brilliant tutorial Jesús. I've always disregarded vector masks as in Illustrator type of thing, so this was a real eye-opener for me. Thanks!
You're welcome, Ed!
Yes, I knew that you can make a path out of a selection.
But what you've been able to teach me is that the Alt (or Ctrl) key
is the magic key for hidden or alternative options. THANKS!
I always thought I already knew most of the tricks in Photoschop.
But then ...
I found your Videos.
Great Job Jesús ;)
Okay, I've just tried it again after giving myself time to absorb what you're teaching. I have to remove backgrounds from different machines built for roofing and civil engineering. Loads of different shapes and edges to smooth. This is by far the most effective and intuitive lesson I have ever had. I am a complete beginner, yes I've had Photoshop for about five years. But I never understood how to use it until now (and then I'm only learning about vectors) from you. Thank you for relieving me of this burden of feeling inadequate! I will watch over and over until I've mastered the techniques properly.
This is one of the best, if not the best, tutorial I"ve seen. Very easy to follow. I LOVE that you transcribe your narration on the screen. I'm a note taker and this helps tremendously! Thank you so much!
This is absolutely the best explanation of how to extract background in photoshop! Great video
Thank you, Walter!
Very helpful JR, Vector masks were always shrouded in a bit of mystery for me - until now that is! Muchisimas gracias!
You're welcome, R Garlin!
same thing by me, thank you Jesus Ramirez
Very new to Photoshop and have watched MANY videos about background removal and I was never happy with the results. This tutorial is amazing, for the first time I am over the moon with the result! Thanks so much!

Thank you, Crystal!
Hello miss can you please tell me what Photoshop version he is using like Photoshop CS6 or something else
Oh my god. Amazing work , thank you so much for this tutorial. This is very helpful .
Thank you, Kitty!
I like the slowness and clarity of your instruction. As a beginner, it is extremely helpful.
I didn't know what the vector mask was used for, but now I do, thanks to you! Thank you, Jesús!!
I always learn something new watching your channel....thx
You're welcome, Clint!

Thank you, Nishant!
you are great teacher that i have ever seen in youtube.please continue, god bless you
Holy smokes! I could not agree more ! I have never been trained except for the Alphabet in anything worth while. Self taught after that but it only can take you so far. Wait... I had a few good teachers but I was just a kid. It didn't help that I was up all night studying and building radios and things on my own and yakking it up on Ham Radio all over the World. Now We have Mr. Ramirez's channel.
As a Second thought about learning general knowledge about Science and other cool stuff, I have to put in a Mention of Joe Scott, another CZcamsr that does his best to make learning fun. And trust me, Photoshop is fun and Addictive as heck when you get the hang of it!
You are the best Photoshop teacher I ever come across on CZcams.
I subscribed.
Best Photoshop tutorials I've watched. Not boring at all, very good quality and good teaching skills. Thank you and keep the good work!

He is one of 3 excellent Instructors. 2 out of the 3 CZcams instructors that I like are Adobe Photoshop certified.
I use your videos a lot to try and teach myself new techniques. Until one of your previous videos (masking glass) I'd never heard of vectors. This was so so helpful and will definitely assist me in my work

Ive always wondered about vector masks....now I know. Many thanks for your amazing tutorials, I'm a avid follower of your work.
I have been using Photoshop for 10 years (and watching your tutorials a good part of that time) and I never knew how to create a vector mask from a selection. Thank you so much for this! I will be using it frequently.
You're welcome, Mark!
Man that is amazing!
Hair is like the endboss of masking... I tried masking a forest for sky replacement but have up after like an hour - never would I have gotten the idea of doing it like you, thanks allot!
I didn't know that. OMG! i learn so much from your training channel. I hope your channel will always be here. I have a hard time sometimes. it takes me a few times to get it right. when I'm work and need to do something i always refer to your channel and I accomplish my project. You have no idea how much I appreciate your teachings. Ps. thank you Terrence Donald
I have recently subscribed to Lightroom and Photoshop after using CS2 for years and how much it has changed. It is like learning all over again. This is the second video of yours that I have watched. BRILLIANT! easily understood, a nice clear narration and I was also able to keep an eye on the cursor unlike other videos, the cursor is moving across the screen so fast and not always in the place it was meant to be. It goes without saying that I have subscribed and rung the bell, so I am ready for your next one. Best wishes.
Thank you so much, Dave!
I love the little pointers you throw in while working with the pen tools pointers, no pun intended. Another awesome video!
Thank you, Rigon!
Your teaching style is enjoyable and educational. Keep it up.😎🤙
Thank you, Ron!
Amazing All in one tutorial! I have been trying to make masking second nature for years. I will come back to this video a lot! Thank you!!!!
Very useful tut! I've never really worked with the pen tools, but now this can be a great tool for me to use to step up my game in working with digital art. I've also never worked with vector mask before, so, this is quite an eye opening for me. Thanks!
very helpful. using the channels to get lights and darks for the hair selection was the best and most useful tip. never knew how helpful vector masks can be. will be keeping this tutorial as reference to use in the future. thanks as always for the fantastic detailed tutorial. much appreciated!
Thanks! I hadn't really even thought about vector masks and the pen tools too much since probably the 90s. This makes so much sense.
You're welcome, Nick!
No, I didn’t realize the vector mask was available for every selection you choose to make. Awesome!! I will be using this so cutouts will be smooth and not pixelated. Thank you!
You're welcome, ItalianJan!
You are the best teacher for Photoshop that I have seen in CZcams so far. Thanks
And thank you for telling us shortcut keys for both pc and mac. Way to go!!
I have been working quite a while with Photoshop but never heard about some of the procedures presented here. Great video!

Thank you sir, i have been struggling with my backgrounds all week till i watched this
Fantastic. I've been making selections with really rough edges, and I had no idea how to avoid that other than blurring them with the blur tool. Thank you, Jesus.
Really cool video! I had no idea there was a vector mask. Love the added technique to select the hair details!
Always something new to learn in Photoshop... loved this one, Jesus! I'll definitely give this a try.
Thank you, Rod!

My goodness! I was not expecting this to be as good as it is and entertaining as well. Thank you sir
As always great tutorial and explanations of your techniques. Very easy to understand and follow! Please keep up the awesome work!
Very informative, you expertly clarify vector masks & hair selections to pop from the background, as long as that is desired. It is easy for it to appear as a cutout when placed on a rasterized background.
Great tutorial! I have used the Pen tool for years, but still learned a few new things, thanks for sharing.
I really like your teachings. Have to watch multiple times to get it but you are pretty clear. I have CS6, however.
Thanks. I've been using Photoshop since CS3. But I've never converted a vector mask to a selection in some of the manners you demonstrated. Excellent. Thanks again!
You're welcome, Leroy!
Very informative. Every day is a school day - much appreciated.
Thank you, Brian!
Best Tutorial on Vector mask so far, but I must say, this is my first.
