Jesus, I've been killing myself cleaning up white halos when knocking out product, objects and people from backgrounds for years. I wished I'd watched this video when you first published it in April when I had some outlining to do. Keep up the good work on explaining ALL the techniques, steps and nuances when using Photoshop.
You literally saved me a ton of work hours doing cut outs! So far I did it with the refine mask tool, but it never worked perfectly. Thanks so much for posting this tutorial!
Never used these filters and I have been using Photoshop since 1991! I will be using this vs. reducing white matte that I was using before. And, I love that this keeps me working non-destructively, too!
This is amazing, I was compositing on photoshop and could not remove the fringing from a cut out, so I came back to this channel looking for a potential tutorial and you posted it 2 minutes ago ! Thank you
You're welcome, Max!
I've used the minimum filter a few times. It's pretty good. But as usual you've explained it in a way that helps you get the best results. Excellent tutorial! Thank you.
Can't believe I'm just learning this. I've struggled for years and spent countless hours on masks. This is a life saver. Thank you very much!

Wow... I had very difficult masking problem and by watching your video I was able to immediately fix it. I had tried everything I knew of and had no idea that these filters were here. Thanks so much for a great training tutorial. I look forward to watching more of your training clips!!!!
OMG. I have spent hours trying to find ways to get better selections. Countless hours online seeking for the magic slider that was going to get me closer. This was by far the best tool I have seen. I am excited to try them in my projects. Thank you so much for this. You are the best!
A fantastic addition to a retoucher's toolkit for dealing with fringing issues. I've never used them before, but they will be my first go-to option when I encounter a fringe issue. Thank you for posting this tutorial!!

Excellent insight! Thanks
Awesome tutorial as always👍👍👍
Very helpful. Thank you!
What a great tip, thanks for sharing. Can’t wait to try it out.
Wow! Thank you!
I can't wait to use this technique! Before, I was using the expand/contract, which as you mentioned, only works in whole numbers. What's weird is that I can completely remove fringing on an object, but when I resize it in a composite (usually when shrinking the size), the fringing returns. I then have to go back and figure out how to remove it again, either through contracting and filling with black on the inverse, or manually painting.
If I had seen this video earlier, I wouldn't have spent so much time adjusting the feather, contrast and shift edge options to simply cut out my subject!! Amazing tutorial!
I never knew this trick and had the opportunity to use it today. Wow!! Very powerful and easy tool. Thanks Jesús your teaching methods are the best!!
As an old time Photoshop user, these two filters were new to me. Thanks!

Yep - this tip was TOTALLY new to me - I just hope I still remember it when I next need to remove some fringing - that additional tip of making a selection OF a selection so the filter JUST affects that particular part was also such a great idea... thanks again Jesus, love your work!
