Wolves are some of the most stunning creatures on earth.
Their poise, stamina, and graceful movements make them a beautiful sight to behold.
However, their unpredictability, stubbornness and âwildâ instincts make them a dangerous pet to keep around children or other small animals.
Fortunately, pet owners who are fascinated with wolves can enjoy the canine companionship of numerous dog breeds who appear like them,
but are easier to train and are more adaptable. In this Video are 10 dog breeds who closely resemble the Wolves, They are : Utonagan, Canadian Eskimo, Samoyed, Siberian Husky, Alaskan Malamute, Kugsha, Tamaskan, Northern Inuit Dog, Saarloos wolfdog, Czechoslovakian Wolfdog. We hope you enjoyed it đ

I think we can all agree that all of them are absolutely adorable
When I walked my husky, kids would always think he was a wolf. He was very tall and wt of 90 lbs. loved him dearly.

Wolves and dogs are related:
1. Their ancestors.
2. Smart, loyal.
3. Dogs can have wolf instincts, because it's possible for A dog and wolf to breed.
4. Fluffy bois
5. They have really good hearing, and communicate in a few related ways.
6. Carnivores.

@@gypsyhatter At this point Saarloos and Tamaskans are at the end of a very weak gene pool. I strongly suggest you avoid them, as well as the Czech dogs which also have an extremely limited gene pool. Also, they are not as resilient, smart, strong, or easy to train as Volga Wolfhounds. I will have puppies in January. 100% legal all across Canada and the USA. Click to see them.

Im living in Czechia. The Czechoslovakian Wolfdog is hard to train and is kinda shy, like a real wolf. However, they are beautiful! I have even once mistaken him for a wolf honestly when someone took him for a walk in the forest. Took me few seconds to realize. I love this breed.

You people don't know what you are talking about! Wolves are shy in the wild and avoid people. They are NOT unpredictable ! I rescued my first wolf when he was 4 years old and had him about 7 years until he passed away. I've had 3 since then. One was shy but friendly and the other 2 were so sweet and affectionate.
You probably think bears are cuddly.
BTW I have pit bulls, Alaskan husky and mutts. Everyone is fine and gets along, not problems.
Pretty much all dogs are unpredictable like wolves, pit bulls ,and Rottweilers etc...
@@samanthapalmer1273 yeah unpredictable but sometimes it's defend on the owners affection and how strong their relationship and how wolves dogs and other animals trust to the people and I'd they'll bound with each other
Depends on which region the wolf is found in. Because of natural selection, wolves that have been more shy have survived from being killed by us. In the Canada however, they are very curious. And will even come close to you to sniff you or hang out before they go find food after they get bored of you.
Hate to break it to you but ANY animal can be unpredictable
Why? Cuz it's damn animal!
My family searched and bought me a wolf hybrid 60% Timber wolf and 40% Siberian husky, he is the most loyal dog I've owned. He's not a big fan of small children because he wasn't raised around them, and he doesn't like loud noises. His name is Howler when I got him he was 3 months old no bigger than a purse, he wouldn't stop talking that's how he got his name. He insists to be at mine or my mother's side (my mother spoils him) but on to the point he is an amazing house dog and guard dog he loves to lay upside down on couch and wrestle not all wolves are aggressive.
I was brought up around wolves I have never been bit by one and my parents had a arctic wolf that taught me how to walk on 2 feet she let me use her to stabilize myself during my steps. Being a 100% arctic wolf she was very protective over me, she heard my mom making meatloaf which you have to smack the meatloaf to take out air pockets. Well the arctic wolf heard my mom smacking the meatloaf, arctic wolf crashed through the French doors growling at my mom until she realized I was in my carrier sound asleep she came over sniffing to make sure I was ok, adjusted my blanket and laid next to me. My mom startled over what happened went back to making meatloaf with no problems the arctic wolf slept until I woke. Wolves are not vicious blood thirsty creatures, they are beautiful and can be playful and loving also protective over its pack weather it be human or wolf. It does however take people who are knowledgeable about wolves to keep them, they are not dogs, way different diets, different actions and psychological backgrounds.
That is a great story. I live in Australia so i canât have wolves here. It is sad but i agree with the law.

0:20 "children or other small animals" haha
William Whitman humans are animals tho
Because children annoy dogs and don't know when to stop..
I have two Arctic Wolves. It is much easier to raise two wolves than it is to raise one wolf. I found the first one on the edge of my property. I have been in contact with zoologist to know how to take care of him. When he became one and a half years of age, he became a destructive terror. The wolf expert told me to get another wolf and it would calm down both of them. They then told me to take another wolf cub in for fostering. It was amazing! The differnce between caring for one wolf verses two wolves is incredible! I filled out the paperwork to adopt the wolf cub after he stayed with me for a month. I know have two good boys that are always playing, running, chasing each other, howling, and wrestling. Now I have no more issues with siding being pulled off my house, enormous craters being dug in the yard, and rabbits being manged that wonder into the yard.
they need a pack
@@lilynumber9510 Yes, they do. Also, two wolves is not a permanent solution. Thus is why they go to a wolf preserve on weekends. They only hang out with spacific wolves in the preserve. Every Friday night, I open my vehicle's doors and call them and they run in with great anticipation. They know where they are going. However, every Monday morning, I call them back to go home and they come slowly crawiling into my vehicle and sleep all the way home. That Monday day, they sleep all day and Tuesday, they only wake up to eat. Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday day, they are back to themselves. The wolf preserve really takes a lot out of them. They are happy to go every weekend and very happy to go home to rest Monday morning.
That's awesome! Also, my comment wasn't meant as a criticism. Just in case you took it that way
@@marywilliams3960 Than you. But, It was not taken that way at all. I was acknowledging you are correct.
Yes, because Wolves need to be part of a Wolf family. They need to nurture each other. And they are telepathic so you have to be still and calm to know what they want.
Siberian huskies are my favourite dog breed, mostly for how they can be great companions and their extremely lovable and cute :3
They're friendly hut they're also very rude, they're very smart so they just do what they please even when they understand what you want them to do, i love huskies but i wouldn't recommend them to people who can't handle high maintenance pets
All wolves and dogs are so precious and must be protected, I love these videos đ
Wolves need to be protected the mostly
My mom owned a coyote when she was a little girl
Thats cool
What did she say about it? Was it problematic?
David Si no..this was in a ranch in Mexico, when the rest of the dogs went chasing something the coyote went with them. The dogs barked and the coyote howled. They found the coyote in the woods when he was a baby. She also said the coyote was more aware than the dogs, he was always checking things out. He walked around the property alot.
Johnnythepillpopper thatâs amazing
Good for her :3
I would love to have a wolf dog one of my dream dogs
Meet my criteria and come to see me and you can have one. It'll cost ya though, and again; you will have to meet the criteria first.
I had one, she ended up getting cancer. Make sure you have plenty of time to spend working with one. Also once they have thier mind on something it's a lot harder to get thier mind off it compared to a dog. They are a lot more curious about stuff and will figure out how to get things open. Overall it's a animal i don't recommend unless you have time, patience, willingness to be a leader and a lot of experience with dogs. I'm not saying you don't have any of that, i just see so many people dumping wolf dogs at shelters cause it's more work than they thought.
I have one and it is more difficult than other dogs. You need to have experiences with dogs and dog training because it's harder and when you won't train it it could attack or anything like that.
Same
you need to be careful when getting one i have had a lot of Hybrid wolves and one i would consider full blood cause she was part timber , arctic, gray wolf..... she ate my phone, the door, the floor the couch ....but my hybrid wolves very calm and only ate their food.

Had a high-content woofer (Ember) that we had DNA tested through Embark. Results came back as 95% timber-wolf, with a smattering of Alaskan Husky & Malamute. A wolfdog with THAT high a wolf content, is FAR, FAR, FAR more predictable than say a mid-content, or mid-low content. Ember knew EXACTLY what she was... ie: mostly timber wolf. Mid & low content wolfdogs have an internal DNA struggle. They don't know whether they should act like a dog, or act like a wolf. FAR less predictable behavior from mid, low, and low-no's. I knew What Ember was thinking from 150yds away, just by reading her body language. Often, at the dog-park we frequented, i would watch her from 150-200yds away, and knew what she was about to do before any sign of the action was visible (to the untrained eye). Ember was a one-of-a-kind. I miss her every day. She was my baby, and I her alpha. I've had many tens of dogs through the years, and Ember is BY FAR the best animal I've ever had the privilege of raising, teaching & leading. My Ember... i love & miss you. There's still a hole in my heart, and I have a lump in my throat just talking about her. CZcams search: EMBER THE WOLFDOG. That's her and the rest of our family (although it's mostly about her). @Antonyo Mihai Yes very loyal not That protective of the alpha but it will protect a baby with its life
When I was a teenager we had wolfdogs. One was malamute / timber. She was supposed to be about 85% wolf. This was before dna testing was a thing. They do act completely different then dogs. I used to say more like cats because they didn't rely on us to make a decision. She was smart, loyal, talkative and protective in a real way. If she knew we had legit company she would stand down and go to her bed. But this was a defender and if you weren't expected she started a true wolf hunt and would put our rotti in front and go around behind. She was also very mother like and took care of my cat when he was a kitten even though she had never seen a cat.. raised multiple other puppies introduced to the family.. one of the best companions we ever had.. She lived into 13 and we will never forget her. I want a tattoo of her someday thats how much we loved her.
I agree thats why Im against race mixing in humans too.

Omg i love wolves so much. I really want to have a wolf or pet wolf dog when i move out. Wolves are very beautiful and loyal, they are my top favorite animal and no matter what people say, wolves dont eat people XD not even when hungry. Tho Wolves will attack if you bother them alot but they woudnt just go up to somone and think "oh dinner!" Wolves are alot more loyal and smart then most people think X) i wish more hunters would understand that wolves dont deserve to get hunted.
I definitely agree
Yes thank u I hate when people kill wolves I got to pet wolves for my 17 B-Day and my dad and I got to go in with foxes and pet them and get our pic taken with them
Agree
I am glad you admire wolves but they are best left in the wild or a sanctuary. Rarely can a home make a good place for a wolf or even a f1 or f2 wolf dog. Recall, wolves do cooperative packing and a pack of two is not really sufficient for good mental health of the animal. So I'll simply say - admire and enjoy them in the while rather than risk putting them in a domestic situation which they might tolerate but never truly live up to their wolf selves as they do in the wild.
Lucky you got to pet wolves
White Swiss shepherds are 100% more like wolfs then the samoyed

If you haven't any experience with wolf dogs get a German Shepherd. Otherwise I can't agree more with Chloe, Saarloos are more domesticated. Don't even think of owning a wolf it's not fair on the animal.

My husband and I have had the pleasure of owning many of the Northern Breeds and wolves. I owned a half Malamute/half Timberwolf. After he passed, I met my husband, who had 40 adult dogs to his kennels. Some were Malamutes/some Siberian huskies and he owned a white arctic wolf, three Timberwolves and three Red wolves. There were also the occasional really wild wolves that would come and visit him at the house. My husband sold me my two Malamutes. The male was black and white and the female grey and white. The female had Red wolf in her. She was the alpha of the whole family since the male was more quiet and reserved. He was more content to let her run the whole day to day activities. My baby girl had two litters of pups. The first, she had five puppies and the second, she had seven. I miss them all to this day. My baby girl developed brain cancer and we werenât in our state with the vet she knew. They did a biopsy on her and lost the biopsy which made them tell us they needed another biopsy! We were so mad at this irresponsible way of handling the situation. She was dying and she got in my lap at that vets office still trying to protect me because she didnât trust these people! When she died, it broke my heart into a million pieces. My male didnât want alpha status and gave it to his son, which we kept from the first litter. When my step sonâs Siberian had puppies, there was one grey one in the litter and he gave it to me. We just lost her to cancer in the beginning of March. Once again, I was so broken up about losing another baby to this deadly disease. She would come and get me if my husband was having a bad night with his health! We just recently acquired two other Agouti Siberian huskies, sibling sisters. But, I still miss the baby we lost. The kennels are all gone now and the Malamutes, Siberian Huskies and Wolves we knew and loved only reside in our hearts and memories. But, when we had them, it was something likened to a magical time because we got to be very close to them and witness many awe inspiring moments that many people couldnât even imagine in their wildest dreams!
